I have no experience with the insta360 out of the other two GoPro all day long I have an Akaso brave 7 and GoPro 11 black and the GoPro has much picture quality and battery life. Between these two you definitely get what you pay for, as I said I have no experience with the Insta360.
I use the Akaso Brave 7 and love it! Super solid for snorkeling—comes with a waterproof case, the footage is surprisingly good for the price, and the dual screens make it easy to frame shots whether you’re above or below water. Battery life isn’t GoPro-level, but for the cost it’s hard to beat. If you’re mainly looking for value and don’t need pro-level features, it’s a great pick for Maui adventures.
Akaso brave 7 light (ebay $100) Fence mount for action cams (Amazon $20) 128GB Micro SD card (Amazon $16) Mkvnix software (free) I record at 2k 60fps from the corner of the court and it does a decent job. I combine all the files using mkvnix into one continuous file and upload it to YouTube. I review the footage to learn that I need to cover the sidelines better or keep my paddle up or that I really need to lose weight or that my partner sucks and is the reason why we lost or that I need to be more patient at the line or see bad line calls or...
Here are some indoor matches I recorded with the akaso: https://youtu.be/9vKbtW8GiHE?si=CIs6pE0ppMLDNiL-
Most practical? Insta360 X3/X4. Records in multiple directions and mounts to the bike so it can stay charged for 24/7 recording. This is the simplest way to get dashcam functionality on your bike. If you want cool POV social media footage then an action cam from Insta360 or DJI, GoPro isn’t competitive these days. If you’re on a budget and don’t care about audio quality, the AKASO Brave is a good way to get started and see if you want to go further in. With these helmet cams though you will need to be more deliberate when recording footage as the batteries last around 1-2 hours
Depends on why you want it. For vlogging, the ace pro is a great camera. If you want it as a dashcam, I personally wouldn't want an expensive camera on my helmet all the time, so I use a cheap Akaso for that and switch to the insta when I actually care about my footage.
Try the Akasco or similar. I have a nice camera, housing, light, but my friend's GoPro does the job better in my opinion.
