Running these analyses costs money. Buy through my links to help keep lights on! I may get a small commission.
I have an Akaso brave 7le that does the job quite well. I have it mounted above my tg6, start it when i submerge, stop when i surface. I get almost 3 hours 4k video on a 64gb card, unfortunately my color correction reverts the video to 1080p, but it looks great. A video light makes a big difference too. I use an inexpensive light from amazon. Honestly i think most of the budget action cameras are pretty similar in quality. When you get to the DJI and latest gopro you might be getting a better finished product, but the big thing is make sure your housing stays dry and your lights work. Have fun!
Gun beach is a long walk. But if you’re in Guam, dive certification is basically a requirement to live here. If you want photos a tg 6 or 7 with a housing is my recommendation. It’s waterproof on its own but at scuba depths you need a housing. If you just want video, an action camera is the go to. I use an Akaso. Cheap brand but 4k video. Regardless of the camera you select, you have to have a light to get decent photos at depth. Go to MDA or GSM(?). Jim at GSM is quite knowledgeable. He’s in the strip center next to Tu Re.
Akaso brave 7 light (ebay $100) Fence mount for action cams (Amazon $20) 128GB Micro SD card (Amazon $16) Mkvnix software (free) I record at 2k 60fps from the corner of the court and it does a decent job. I combine all the files using mkvnix into one continuous file and upload it to YouTube. I review the footage to learn that I need to cover the sidelines better or keep my paddle up or that I really need to lose weight or that my partner sucks and is the reason why we lost or that I need to be more patient at the line or see bad line calls or...
Here are some indoor matches I recorded with the akaso: https://youtu.be/9vKbtW8GiHE?si=CIs6pE0ppMLDNiL-
Most practical? Insta360 X3/X4. Records in multiple directions and mounts to the bike so it can stay charged for 24/7 recording. This is the simplest way to get dashcam functionality on your bike. If you want cool POV social media footage then an action cam from Insta360 or DJI, GoPro isn’t competitive these days. If you’re on a budget and don’t care about audio quality, the AKASO Brave is a good way to get started and see if you want to go further in. With these helmet cams though you will need to be more deliberate when recording footage as the batteries last around 1-2 hours
Depends on why you want it. For vlogging, the ace pro is a great camera. If you want it as a dashcam, I personally wouldn't want an expensive camera on my helmet all the time, so I use a cheap Akaso for that and switch to the insta when I actually care about my footage.
Try the Akasco or similar. I have a nice camera, housing, light, but my friend's GoPro does the job better in my opinion.
One cent under $70 and you can get it by tomorrow. Quality is likely shit and 90% of the reviews are fake. I rented a Hero 7 back in 2019 for a trip. Came home and bought an Akaso, had I not had the experience with GoPro I would have probably kept it. Comparing the two it was night and day. It may work for your use case, if not you can just return it. https://preview.redd.it/zpf8gv6acmbg1.png?width=960&format=png&auto=webp&s=aa81856dd3fce5483398c88649b504666a1317d5
