Cycliq - Fly12 CE

Cycliq fly 6 & 12 is what I have. I also started with GoPro. What I concluded is that GoPro is good for short, vivid, action shots but battery life will disappoint for your use case. On the Cycliq, you need a high resolution to get a tag, which shortens the memory and battery life. I loop the video to ensure I get the more recent video.

Cycliq 12 is great. Good image quality, good battery life, easy software, just no drama.

Cycliq.com is also an option out of Australia. They have front (fly12) and rear (fly6) specific cameras. I have both and really like the fly12, the fly6 has some questionable design choices. Both have 7 hours of battery life in camera-only mode. The resolution is plenty good enough to read license plates. The fly12 co-exists with my Garmin 1030 in the front and the fly6 co-exists with my Varia radar in the back using a mount I designed and 3d printed. I think they are a bit over-priced for what they are but I found no other better options for what I wanted.

Another vote for the Cycliq Fly Front here, battery life is good and the light is a big plus for me. Never had an issue with video quality. their customer service is pretty good too, when my first developed a fault i had a replacement within a few days.
