If you are a videographer you of course know that you can totally get away with using actioncams for BTS. Done that a lot of times for online and TV productions, and is is pretty common to do that. Not of all of us are Ridley Scott. Personally I reall like the nano for its form factor. you can mount it pretty much anywhere and is is quite unobstrusive. Which is a big plus for behind the scene footage. You have to keep in mind that the runtime of the nano owthout the vision dojc is significantly shorter and it does have to get recharged on the dock pretty much every hour or so if you dont want to risk it shutting down in wrong moment. Also it does get pretty warm over time if you set it to record in the max bitrate. Real life performances of the nano: 1.5 hours, body mounted, indoors, low light mode (blacklighted room), no problems at all 1 hour, 240fps / 1080p, body mounted outdoors, no problem In terms of quality I can only compare it to my action 5 pro, and they are both on par under all conditions. And that is still pretty much comparable with the Action 6. The 6 has of course a better performance in low light which might be a key factor in BTS applications. In conclusion the nano is fine if you use it in a way and for a purpose that it is fit for. Like POV mount, fire and forget. For point and shoot I'd opt for the Action 5/6.
r/dji • DJI Osmo Action 6 vs Osmo Nano. Which one’s better? ->I just picked one up from Harvey Norman in Ireland. 128gb for €319. Send a solid little camera
r/dji • DJI Osmo Nano is here ->That’s one reason I am likely to pass on this. The DJI Osmo Nano is going to be 10 bit and with the same sensor as the Action 5. GoPro and DJI have been doing 10 bit for a while, why isn’t Insta360.
r/Insta360 • 📷 Insta360 GO Ultra Mega Thread 📷 ->The Nano is a great option for someone like yourself that would know how to use its unique feature of being detachable and magnetic to get some cool angles for BTS footage.
r/dji • DJI Osmo Action 6 vs Osmo Nano. Which one’s better? ->I would go for the nano because you can attach it then use the dock as an external screen to monitor your framing, you can't do that with other action cams
r/dji • DJI Osmo Action 6 vs Osmo Nano. Which one’s better? ->Yes, but the AeroTech Hubs seller. Bought my Nano from them when it was launched and it came in couple days. It looks like their next earliest delivery now is Dec 3rd.
r/dji • DJI OSMO Action 6 Is Announced Officially; but appears not yet available in the USA. ->Just got the dji osmo nano and is perfect for running.
r/trailrunning • Best Bodycam for running? ->I see depends how much you film I went out on the weekend for 3 hours and still had over 80% batter left in the camera (I didn’t take the touch screen part) however I was filming on and off not the whole time
r/trailrunning • Best Bodycam for running? ->I thought the same and did consider that as an option, but the DJI Nano overheats in about 20-30 mins of use. I've run my old Hero 5S cameras continuously for 90+ mins and never had an issue. Their limitation for record time was always battery capacity and whatever size SD card you used. I do think the Insta360 Go 3 (not 3S) is about as close as we've come to a H5S recently, but outside the charging pod the camera on its own gives me about 35-40 mins recording time due to battery capacity limits.
r/gopro • Which is your favorite GoPro? ->I don't think it's too complicated. At a baseline, you just press record and it'll give you good results. If you want to get a bit more advanced with it for that sweet motion blur, you'll need about how to setup your shutter and use ND filters, and possibly record in log then color grade -- all those words probably mean nothing to you for now and that's fine. You'll look them up when you're ready to get more out of your camera! As for cost, I think the 64g model is more than enough for FPV, however do factor in the price of the DJI Care Refresh -- you absolutely want that for FPV!
r/fpv • My first FPV review! Is the DJI Osmo Nano any good for Bando? ->DJI refurbs are an amazing deal when they pop up. Especially since you can get them with care refresh, so that you get a brand new one for cheap if you break it! I wish I had discounts or anything else, but I bought mine myself (nowhere near big enough to get free stuff!)
r/fpv • My first FPV review! Is the DJI Osmo Nano any good for Bando? ->I have one, arrived Tuesday. If there's no airflow, it will generally stop recording and shut down within 30min. That's WITH the latest firmware. Connected to the windscreen of my car I got 38min before it shutdown so don't expect to record traveling b-roll. Maybe attached to the outside it would last longer but this is 3 days old. Once warm, don't expect to record again soon. It takes time to cool down. I noticed it had stopped recording so hit record again. It lasted 5min before switching off. Such a disappointing product.
