I would recommend you going with the DJI 5 Pro or Ace360. If you are willing to put a little bit more money into invest into the DJI 6. The DJI6 has great footage if you don’t want to edit in the beginning. But when you advance you have a lot more options with the DJI6. I was using GoPro cameras since the Hero 4 to the Hero 12 and moved over to DJI because they fall behind. What I really like is that you can use it to 20m without a case (DJI6), perfect for snorkeling or cliff jumping. And for diving you can go with a case. You also have an integrated depth sensor which you can activate in your videos (I don’t use it but some people like it some don’t ). Honestly I would stay away from underwater phone cases, especially from the Oceanic one. From what I heard your have limited options for video settings (when you prioritise image quality it’s bad). I just heard good things about the Divevolk but like I said I would stay way from those cases. When you jumping or snorkeling a camera with stick is lot more comfy. The DJI 6 has a better sensor and in general better stats than the other ones. Especially underwater in low light conditions (when diving). When you advance you can invest into and housing which can take makro or wide angle lenses (AOI just released a great housing). And when going with a phone cases you are limited to the accessories of the brand like dive volk. With action cameras you are still limited but not that much as phone cases. If you want to dig deeper I can recommend you this site: https://waterpixels.net it’s great site where divers share reviews and answer questions about cameras. Maybe this can help you deciding which camera you go for but I would recommend you the DJI6

Just get whatever is on sale right now for cyber monday or older cheap/used options. I wouldn't go older than GoPro 7. The 7 is decent, the 8 is quite good. So just find the best model for the lowest price. The best alternative for a teenager is an insta360 model, such as the standard ace model. But they are awkwardly hard to find. May be easier to just get the ace pro or ace pro 2 on sale. Another option is the DJI Action, but those cameras are arguably best for tinkerers who want to use settings to get the best image quality possible (at the cost of getting the settings wrong and getting a terrible image). It comes more so from the legitimate camera world and the drone flying world. But if you find one for cheap, you can consider it. I would just suggest a used GoPro or a new Insta360 ace on sale. I wouldn't recommend the newer GoPros, though they are decent. So depends on sales. But GoPro has been surpassed in features (by insta360) and image quality (by DJI action). Only reason to get GoPro would be if you like their walled garden of apps and stuff, but I don't even use those. source; long time gopro user, my GF bought an insta360 ace and i basically steal her camera every time I ride solo. It's just so much more reliable.

I recently upgraded to GP12, from GP8. And my GF got an insta360 ace (not even the pro versions). Her camera is just way better. Functions so much cleaner, screen actually works, on off is so easy, it doesn't limit the max PoV to 4k or whatever the hell gp12 does. Makes me really resent GoPro who I have been loyal to for so many years. But... The guard has changed. Insta360 makes the best all around cameras now. DJI seems to have some standout features like maybe best color and overall IQ. And GoPro probly still has the best software support and accessory hardware support and all that, but that barely even matters now. Margins are thin. I'm grabbing the insta, ap1 or ap2... All day. Hell I wish I could sell my gopro and get one at the current prices.

Hate to ask but because you aren't going to have any good options I gotta... "Why?" And, naturally, you simply can not get good battery life out of something that small if you intend to have proper quality as opposed to like... Something where quality may be less a concern like dash cam or trail cam but even those aren't tiny. I too would like a magical product lol... We're just not there yet. I've seen people try the Ray Ban glasses but, it has all kinds of quirks. Like recording limits. (Likely for overheating or to reduce the obvious battery drain.) So who knows... We could be close. But the form factor specifically is going to limit battery life as well as thermal issues for like... Even 1080p60 or 4k30 etc I did like my GP Session though. I miss those, but am not trying the new minis they made. And did consider the insta GO but like you mention, just too many compromises. I have a gp12 and insta ace, which is slightly bigger but a better camera imo

To each their own but the insta360 ace series is better for low light and has better colors. What made you choose the 13 bro?

the size IS the most important thing besides image quality and/or stabilization. having something heavy and bulky strapped on your helmet will have negative effects on your ride. i feel like gopro is going in the direction of insta with their ace? series and make more of a vlogging camera than a action camera. but we'll see when it gets released

I'm a Photographer who recently got into videos. I have to point out that the Insta 360 video quality is nowhere like the mirrorless cameras I've had, BUT, it's really about the spontaneous moment captured with it and not the quality that I'm impressed of. I've found footages of myself in the moments of serendipity that I know I will never achieve with any of my mirrorless camera unless somebody is following me around with it. I also tried the Osmo Pocket but I certainly love the convenience of the Insta 360 more because you can choose which frame, back, front, up or down you want to finally edit for posting. Really helpful the 360 view.

Hi op, one issue is you’ll now no longer be waterproof. I use the DJI mic 2 internal recording inside my helmet to a GoPro 13. You can check the sound here. [action camera with DJI mic2 inside helmet no wires retains waterproofing](https://youtu.be/y7ENSoDiaUg?feature=shared) Use the mini as the second camera, the 11 black as your main. I have a 13 as main and either an action 4 or insta 360 as handlebar.

Kung gusto mo lahat ng angle may shot go with insta 360. Naka insta ako before pero nagswitch na ako sa GP11. Tamad kasi ako magedit lalo na sa insta desktop or app. Unlike sa gopro, crop and kunting edit lang okay na 😅

I travel solo and take a lot of videos and photos. I use to take my Fuji X-Pro 3 and two fixed lens, but it just got to be too heavy. Now I use the DJI Pocket 3 and a Neo Drone. I also have an Insta 360, but do not use it as much as the pocket 3. \- DJI Pocket 3 \- DJI Neo Drone \- Insta 360 (selfie-stick / tripod) It all packs in a small dry sack and I pack it in my 32L bag with no problem. Just did a 3-month trip with them - worked very well.
