I previously had a GO 2, and loved how tiny it was. Didn’t feel wearing it. But it was limited, so wanted to try a more full featured camera. I debated between X5 and X4 Air, but opted for the X4 Air for smaller size. I’ve only used it one day mountain biking, but for chest mount the weight wasn’t an issue. I also tried helmet mount for 360 footage. I definitely felt the weight, but it was doable. I’ll probably do chest mount majority of the time for comfort, but like having the option to do some 360 videos as well.
The DJI Nano Osmo is quite light when I have it snapped to the brim of my ballcap, is 4k and has pretty good quality. I know a couple competitors who use its nearest competitor, the Insta Go2 and like them as well. The UI is pretty simple. One click to power on, another one to record which gives an acknowledgement beep and another one to turn it off which beeps twice. I like the FOV modes it has which gives you wide angle or more natural angles. Downsides, it overheats in under an hour of continuous use. I feel for competition you have enough breaks between your stages that shouldn't be a problem. I point the overheating issue as a problem more for people like me who like recording hunts. To keep the size of the camera down, it - like the Insta G02 - does not have a display. Instead both of them rely on a slave module that has the display. In the case of the DJI Nano Osmo, that device also acts as a recharge and additional storage device. One thing I also like about the Nano Osmo is that the recharging seems to be pretty fast. Like from zero back to full in under 20 minutes. So you could either recharge between stages or during lunch.
I use the Insta360 go 2. The 3 tends to over heat and battery life is not as good. I know some people use go pros but they are kinda heavy. Recently saw some people us the meta glasses. But the pov is always off center.
Depends. If you want some cool 3rd person view stuff definitely. But as the question is asking about pov. The insta360 go series is always good.
It's not bad, probably with a large FOV could be Better. You use and insta360 Go 2 or 3? You try with the free frame mode? With 1 file you can made a horizontal and vertical versione with a good FOV
So I looked up the specs on the insta360 website Go 3S maximum resolution : 4K: **3840x2160**@24/25/30fps Go Ultra maximum resolution : 4K (4:3): **3840x2880**@30/25/24fps I am asking Insta360 Technical support chat as I write this, but so far I assume that the sensor ratio is 4:3 while the 3S was more of a 16:9. So probably a bit more wiggle room than the 3S in regards to vertical free frame capability. But less than the 1:1 ratio which the 1,2,3 had. Got myself an Ultra ordered anyway. My Go 2 battery is almost depleted.
I switched long ago after my GoPro had the same SD card error and none of the day's videos were saved. Never again. Since then, I've not lost any footage on Insta360 X3, X5, Go 2, Go 3. Insta360 have their issues but definitely better than GoPro.
