insta360 completely fumbled with making their go3s successor awfully large, completely missing the market need of a small camera- im excited for this one
r/dji • Own the Moment | DJI Osmo Nano Teaser ->I bought Go Ultra yesterday... Have a bikepark trip this weekend, couldn't wait longer so pulled a trigger I will report here with any "issues" I come across (hopefully not many) As for privacy, ah well... I know what you mean, but IDK if there's such outside main brands and offering decent quality.
r/MTB • DJI Osmo Nano or Instra360 Go Ultra? Share your thoughts, use cases ->Thanks for reminding me to leave a comment! Initial impressions when I just opened the box was: "Wow, that small?!" How the hell? What? Sooo small. Even to this date I am amazed by the size. The magnet is very strong. It helps with slotting it in to the pod, also to hold on the pendant. Video quality more than sufficient for what I will use it for. A lot of recording modes and manual settings. Settings are all laid out super easy and screen is very responsive. Button control easy as well. Now on to actual recording: you need some time to get used to the chimes (sounds) and what which means if you camera is mounted on helmet. If camera is 'sleeping' and you start recording you need to realize when it finishes it goes back to sleep so you cannot 'talk to her' (to stop/start). The battery life of camera is not long. You need to keep that in mind and occasionally check battery level. In bikepark this wasn't a problem while on lift. You need more %%, pop it in to the pod. Few things what Internet does not say: Studio 360 (PC app) does not have AI help. Studio 360+ the Cloud storage - does not have AI help Only Mobile app has ability to compile you videos and it does it quite fast and results are good. When it does that you go in and edit further to your liking. To me biggest dissapointment is that PC application does not have AI as Mobile app has. Imho, its ridiculous. Adding speed (and other stats) overlay is very easy, albeit I already found 1 bug and reported to them (on PC Studio 360 it does not display Speed data). Overall 9/10 happy with the camera. I wont post any links to video as internet is full of the quality of it already :) (I recorded always with a recommended Biking preset 4k30fps Action FOV). Hope this helps, if you have ANY questions, hit me up.
r/MTB • DJI Osmo Nano or Instra360 Go Ultra? Share your thoughts, use cases ->That's a valid concern for sure! This Go Ultra looks to have 'protective' lens over the main one. Hopefully I never need to experience it's toughness
r/MTB • DJI Osmo Nano or Instra360 Go Ultra? Share your thoughts, use cases ->**TLDR: 360 camera for the least amount on work in the moment. PM me I can private share you some of the videos I've taken of my kids so you can kind of see what it will be like** I have multiple young kids and am often watching them all by myself. I'm also a gear addict so I've tried all of the types of cameras you are looking at and use them all, but if I were to pick one camera to bring with me it would be the 360 camera. So overall, I recommend the X5 or X4 Air (which is lighter and cheaper, but a little less image quality and less battery life as a tradeoff). While 360 camera, you can kind of set it and forget it and then pull out some moments later on your computer/phone whenever you have time (i.e. when the kids are in bed). Insta360 desktop app offers "deep tracking" which lets you pick a person and it will do all the processing for you, although you need to let it run in real time. The mobile app has something similar and against you just kind of pick a face and let it work on the video. There is a new app that is polarizing, but supposedly you kind of let the app do most of the work for you (again with face tracking). You can either hold the camera on a selfie stick, or set it up on a tripod on a table (that's what I do for birthday song videos), clamp it to your stroller, or even stick it on your backpack and just have it start recording - **because it is recording a spherical 360 video of the entire scene, it will always get something** \- although ideally it is 3-10 feet away from you or your kids otherwise they will be kind of small in the frame. After that at night you can scrub/fast forward through the long video and cut out a few clips that you like. Sometimes if there is a stationary object that changes over time (a birthday cake disappearing as it is eaten or a sand castle being built) and I will turn the video into a timelapse by speeding up the video. If that feels like too much work, the X5 has "Me Mode" and "InstaFrame Mode" which does all of this in camera and gives you are video that is ready to share (although you still might want to trim it a bit). "Me Mode" automatically crops from the spherical to a 16:9 4K video that tracks down the selfie stick which pretty much guarantees you will be in the video (since you are holding the selfie stick). You can also flip the direction so Me Mode so that instead of recording whatever the handle of the stick is pointing at, if records whatever the stick is pointing at (think of it like a magic wand) that makes it very easy to make sure your subject is in the video frame when recording. "Instaframe" basically focuses on the first face it see and keeps tracking that throughout the video. The drawback is that I think the resolution is lower (1080p) - overall, that is one of the major tradeoffs you are doing, the **video quality from a 360 camera is always going to be less than the other types of camera for the flexibility in subject framing.** In terms of gear, just starting need the camera and make the 2-in-1 tripod-selfie stick. Maybe get a clamp mount so you can clip the 360 camera to your stroller (or backpack shoulder strap). So that's the 360 camera. There is also the small POV camera. Those are great for hands free videos, but I ironically find they take more mental work because you need to consciously setup the framing a lot more (i.e. have the camera mounted on your head/chest, turn them on and try not to shake your head or shirt too much and you might point the camera too high/low). They are great for 5-15 second clips though (I record it playing with the kids whether it is tag, frisbee/ball with the kids, or just hugs). There is less battery life though so I am personally more judicious with using them. Between Insta360 Go Ultra and the DJI Nano - I recommend the Ultra because it has a SD card in the camera itself. The DJI Nano stores the video to internal memory, which then you need to manually transfer to the SD card in the docking module because it won't store to the SD card directly (source: http://dji.com/nano/faq). Finally there is the Osmo Pocket 3, that has the best video quality, the best stabilization and pretty good subject tracking... but with it's not so wide angle view I found it require the most fiddling with. It is good if you can set it on a table/tripod at home and then select your crawling baby as a subject and just let it play, but I like the faster option of setting up the 360 camera and just pressing the record button (quickcapture will turn on the camera and start recording in like 2 seconds and then turn off the camera when you press record again).
r/Insta360 • Help me pick a camera for a young family ->The go ultra is the current king of tiny cameras. I like the ace pro 2 but it's a little bigger. But for your battery life requirement you might need the action 5 pro.
r/Insta360 • Help me decide ( insta 360 go ultra/ DJI osmo action 5 pro/ osmo action 4/ace pro 2) ->It’s actually for me. I love Ray Maker’s reviews but I think he is looking at this from his perspective (naturally) but not what many users may have. Ray is a full time reviewer of tech equipment and a growing YouTuber so he is willing and able to use larger cameras to get exactly the quality he wants and is also willing to own extra smaller cameras just for behinds the scenes B roll footage. On the other hand I’m just a middle aged guy documenting my travels and “adventures” that I use the term loosely. I very much want a small POV camera that doesn’t draw too much attention from others (ok maybe my wife who will think I’m ridiculous lol) but still has all the features of a regular mainstream action camera and the quality of it too. You might see in side by side images that the Ace Pro 2 (and I’m sure even more so in the coming Ace Pro 3) that it still has the edge but after looking at countless examples side by side in 4K now it sure looks like the Ultra is 95% the same image and I’d never be able to tell if not side by side. Swapping batteries for a regular guy like me isn’t a big deal because I’ll likely never film more that a couple hours in a day and if I do the fact this can charge via a power bank to 80% in under 15 minutes makes it for me a non factor. You could argue the answer is to own both a regular action camera AND a smaller GO camera but I don’t want to bring multiple cameras on a trip etc. I feel finally with the GO Ultra I have fun POV and magnetic mounting options built in and when I want I can use it as a conventional action camera and all with no real noticeable loss in quality vs the big boys.
r/Insta360 • DCRainmaker delivers the first serious GO Ultra review with Ace Pro 2 proving better in image quality and low light… ->The Go Ultra is exactly what you want.
r/Insta360 • Best Insta360 for cinematic city videowalks (low-light, 4K/60, chest-mounted) ->Just want to share, bought this go ultra today and I gotta say, video quality is almost on par with my vivo x200pro but omg photos taken on this camera are legit awful! specially indoors and at night, grainy, even in linear mode its distorted, corners of photo are blurry, kinda disappointed since I want it to replace my phone in day-to-day photography since I don't want to take out my phone to shot random scenery :(
r/Insta360 • AMA about the new Insta360 GO Ultra! ->Go 4 ultra is vastly superior to the Go3s, I've got both along with 2 more of the original go 3
r/CompetitionShooting • Best camera for shooting USPSA ->Not at all, used it for a match last week on the regular hat clip and couldn't tell the difference to my other go cameras! The battery life is incredible in comparison and 4k 60fps is a nice plus! Low light performance is a night and day difference to the previous versions, excuse the pun!
r/CompetitionShooting • Best camera for shooting USPSA ->Because the camera on the Ultra pops out of the pod, it is much smaller than a typical action cam or your phone and can therefore be a bit more discreet. It is also a lot more flexible than your phone in terms of placement and the types of shot you can get. You might find yourself thinking more creatively! The image quality is good enough to mix camera footage with phone footage. And as others have mentioned, if anything happens to the camera, it will be a lot less of a pain than if something happens to your phone.
r/Insta360 • Why get Insta360 go Ultra for travel vlog if you got iphone 15 promax ? ->I have to suggest the 360 cams. Based on what you want it for. Its really the perfect tool to capture quick moments. Not having to frame the shot, being able to just put it on a tripod and let it run knowing it will capture everything is a huge factor. Imagine wanting to take a quick group shot or video. U don't even need to make sure everyone is in frame. Just press the shutter. Now if u want to do like a baby FPV or have your kid hold it then yeah the nano or go ultra If not 360 cam all the way. Insta360 specifically for the editing in the app. Reframing in post edit is not that difficult once you get the hang of it.
r/Insta360 • Help me pick a camera for a young family ->I have the iphone 16 pro and wouldn't think of comparing video or photo to the go cameras, iphone is so much better it's not even close, but for me they differ a lot in use cases. I use my go3 when travelling and usually have it mounted on my chest using the pendant or on the back of my cap using the hat clip, one tap, start recording, record for a minute or two, compile each day into a 2 minute summary. Sometimes I mount the camera or give it to another family member, I take it to the beach, submerge it in a pool or a glass of beer etc, things I wouldn't necessary do with my iphone. I would probably go for the ultra between the go3s and the ultra because of the larger FOV and better low-light tolerance.
r/Insta360 • Why get Insta360 go Ultra for travel vlog if you got iphone 15 promax ? ->If you want connivence, go with Insta360 Go Ultra, you can do POV video and regular vlogging easily with a small tripod or a pole to get more background. The camera unit itself having magnetic back opens to some play with angles that would be otherwise not possible or required specific equipments (E.g. magic arm plus clamp). The equivalent from DJI is not yet matured enough to compare to Insta360. If you want more image quality (not a big jump from Ultra, but still a jump), ruggedness and swappable battery, then Insta360 Ace Pro II. Alternatively, you can go for DJI OSMO Action 5 or Pocket for more post production flexibility. If you want the upmost quality, you can go with Canon V1, slightly bigger sensor than M43 (much larger sensor than for phone or action cameras) and it zooms. If you want to go even further, you can go with Sony ZV-E10II for being able to swap lenses. No point going with GoPro nowadays, their tech is in general lacking behind either DJI or Insta360.
r/Cameras • I don't know what vlogging camera to buy ->I think battery life, better low light performance and removable storage makes it worth the difference. Though you gotta top up more to buy the microSD card, but now you can go even bigger than the fixed 64/128 in the Go 3S.
r/Insta360 • Insta360 GO 3S vs. Insta360 GO Ultra ->It's become moronically expensive after tariffs. I'm still kicking myself for returning the one I bought from Costco for $400-ish around Thanksgiving. (Was a gift for myself in case I managed to find a job around that time, but it took me until June to do so. Still should have kept it.)
r/Insta360 • Why get Insta360 go Ultra for travel vlog if you got iphone 15 promax ? ->It's just such a mental block for me. I'd have it back in a second, but I can't fathom spending upwards of $800 on the same kit.
r/Insta360 • Why get Insta360 go Ultra for travel vlog if you got iphone 15 promax ? ->Used ones still go for 600 bucks. I might just wait until the 4 comes out.
r/Insta360 • Why get Insta360 go Ultra for travel vlog if you got iphone 15 promax ? ->I'm not in a hurry. Have other cameras that can tide me over in the meanwhile.
r/Insta360 • Why get Insta360 go Ultra for travel vlog if you got iphone 15 promax ? ->Ikr!! I bought the Insta360 go ultra but I had to return. Will be buying this instead
r/dji • Own the Moment | DJI Osmo Nano Teaser ->Deff the Ultra. It’s a proper camera.
r/Insta360 • Insta360 GO 3S vs. Insta360 GO Ultra ->Notably better sensor / better quality footage. Usable low light footage w/ PureVideo. Way better battery life. Fast charging. Removable storage (microSD, up to 2TB). 60FPS (although I don't personally bother with this). Plus you can flip the camera between horizontal/vertical mode without having to re-position it. (It's also thinner)
r/Insta360 • Insta360 GO 3S vs. Insta360 GO Ultra ->I’ve been thinking of getting a go 3s too - just because of the price and accessories. They even had just the pod available - which is what I really want so I can have one pod charging and one pod mounted/recording. I may get the creator bundle for the ultra - which comes with a lot of mounts instead - since I’d have to have two different mounting systems if I got the 3s. The creator bundle isn’t shipping until mid September at best. It’s not a bad dilemma to have but I really was waiting for the go systems to have swappable memory. And now that I typed all this out - I’m going to get a second Ultra.
r/Insta360 • Insta360 GO 3S vs. Insta360 GO Ultra ->Depends what kind of shots u want to make. I love my Go ultra for the POV shots i can make with it. Much easier to use then sticking my phone to my head.
r/Insta360 • Is the insta360 go3s good as a normal camera? ->For that usecase its fine.
r/Insta360 • Is the insta360 go3s good as a normal camera? ->Go3S was 1/2.3", Nano is 1/1.3" and ultra is 1/1.28" 1/1.28 is not a lot better than 1/1.3" 😂 it's only 3.1% bigger. iPhone 14/15's sensors are 1/1.56"
r/dji • Dji nano. Mind blowing. 🤯 I don’t think it’s worth it. Let me explain. My opinion of course. 🤨 ->Well I just got the nano. Trying to clarify u once more. 1. When you want to see yourself recording, you should just turn the screen 180 degree and attach it. Actually, It's wide angle camera and has a wide pov. 2. It is true. But if you keep the unit together, u can see the preview. 3. If you really want to view the playback, take ur phone and open MIMO app. Isn't the screen so tiny to review the playback? Well, in Korea Nano is 276USD(236EUR) including tax. and Go Ultra is 437USD here
r/dji • Dji nano. Mind blowing. 🤯 I don’t think it’s worth it. Let me explain. My opinion of course. 🤨 ->There are many features of the Ultra which makes it a very flexible device - not least the ability to place it somewhere, maybe magnetically attached to a pole or whatever, then use the pod to make sure the framing is right, and control the camera with it. You can't do any of that kind of thing with a phone. But don't forget that the Ultra only has mono audio - your phone is stereo. If you want to capture not only imagery of the scenes around you, but a true representation of the sound of the place, in my view stereo audio is essential. So much more immersive, so much more like being there and sharing your experience. Others may differ...
r/Insta360 • Why get Insta360 go Ultra for travel vlog if you got iphone 15 promax ? ->"Horses for courses" / "Apples and oranges" or in other words: depends on main use. Ultra for most typical action camera uses. 3S for tiny lightweight aerodynamic form factor is paramount under \~ 1 hr. Personal subjective: I got for cycling and while the chest mount is the ideal spot, the execution misses as I don't race a bike sitting upright at a 90-degree angle, so all my footage shows is the top of the screen is my handlebars and everything else is the ground. The mount accessories for the Ultra have loads of areas to improve upon. The lack of GoPro style mounts hinder its adaptability. The clickable DJI Action style mounts make the form factor even wider (less aero or small) and more of a traditional action cam. The magnets however are solid for the pendant except the lack of much angle adjustment makes it worthless for filming while cycling anything other than a cruiser bike or hybrid. Even if in an endurance road bike or mtb type riding position, notice how people's videos show hardly any terrain. It's just "look at the ground I'm riding on top of and maybe a little bit of the road, but never mind the scenery or trees or mountains." While the magnet is very strong for the chest, I wouldn't trust a magnet mount on a bicycle as the body absorbing most of the vibration can't be matched. Mostly my chest mount pendant is still great as I use it to hold the camera as easy access for me to grab and start recording using a hand when joy riding slowly in pretty scenery, think uphill or on mountains or b-roll type footage off the bike. People are already starting to get creative with their own mounts, but nothing that truly proves viable yet. Some put the clip on magnet mount onto their saddle bag, but again, I would constantly be worried if I did that on a ride. I might like using that saddle bag magnet mount if I threw it back there for a smooth descent and then quickly throw it back onto the chest pendant afterwards for storage. Desires for current Ultra iteration: \-Tilt-able chest pendant mount like the go 3s had. \-Clip in mounts that stick out aft of the camera as opposed to the sides. Desires for future Go Ultra: \-More aerodynamic slim profile. (think cylindrical rocket with the pointy end being the lens like the OG action cameras by Sony/Garmin and now Ghost for motorcycles.) -or- (Have the shape be an option. Go UltraS (rocket) vs Ultra (pod for flat mount)) \-Things to concede: SD card slot for an internal card that is more than the battery could hold and maybe put the external SD card slot on the charger pod brick unit with the screen. Just to show how easy that would be, I currently have a 1T micro SD card extreme Pro Sandisk in my Ultra. Probably only need about 25% of that. Conclusion: I feel like I sounded pretty harsh above so I also want to say I think the ultra is hands down the best action camera that exists and for the first time ever, and actual joy to use. I've owned countless action cams in the past. Biggest reasons: \-Size (I still think the 3S is better size for my uses, but the Ultra is way better size and form than every other action camera. \-As a traditional action camera, I have zero desire whatsoever for better quality footage on the recent uses. The crisp resolution, colors are amazing. \-The software. No need for cables, third party apps or laptops , or garmin files to add stats is huge. I mean, this alone might be the biggest advancement for me. Insta360 owns every other brand right now for ease of use and user interface of quickly and so easily making a pro looking post. \-This is not a 360 camera, so I'm not even going to try to compare to X5 as they're completley different products. Unfortunately, while it has the name GO, I don't think it replaces the Go 3S. I think it is just the best traditional action camera out there. The Ace Pro 2 might have a very few things better, the form factor of the Go Ultra makes it more fun and expands its uses.
r/Insta360 • Insta360 GO 3S vs. Insta360 GO Ultra ->Great question. One I recently answered. Was looking at the 3S for a trip I have planned soon. The hands free and interval is what sold me on it. Then the ultra go came out, newer, hands free, interval, and the best part is I can still use my phone for still shots. That's why I did it.
r/Insta360 • Why get Insta360 go Ultra for travel vlog if you got iphone 15 promax ? ->I don't "vlog" but I will use both (I too have a 15PM). To me, the phone is for deliberate video. I'm talking to it, or I want to shoot a very specific scene. The Go Ultra is for "We're doing something and I just want to capture the moment". Going to the pool, the beach, whatever. Somewhere/sometime I want to not be "the guy on the phone" but maybe catch some cool video for the moment.
r/Insta360 • Why get Insta360 go Ultra for travel vlog if you got iphone 15 promax ? ->Insta360 all the way! I recently purchased the X4 to capture better content for our club (check it out on Instagram), which it does a great job at, but what I didn't prepare for was the amount of post ride video editing time required. Some of the mounts can be a bit bulky on a bike too, but there's plenty of options available to capture some interesting shots and angles. If I were in the market again, I'd be tempted by the smaller Insta360 Go Ultra as it seems like it would be less bulky, which is important when you're out and about.
r/cycling • Looking for the best camera for cycling - GoPro Max 2, Insta360 X5 or something else? ->Dont listen to this dude there’s plenty of stuff on the market you can even get used now. I’ve been buying cameras since December for my content Honestly for vlogging get the Osmo pocket 3. But since you want durability i would go acepro2/ Osmo action 5 since they’re durable and ok at low light for that price. I have op3 2nd fav Sony A6700 3rd fav X5 great for night time Go ultra my new fav Go pro 11 worst iPhone 15/13 pro max 2 Meta glasses etc. etc
r/Insta360 • Help me decide ( insta 360 go ultra/ DJI osmo action 5 pro/ osmo action 4/ace pro 2) ->Lowlight is enough. + sd card
r/Insta360 • Insta360 GO 3S vs. Insta360 GO Ultra ->I've had the go3 for a year and before that the go2. The go 3 recharges in the action pod. I use it for mountain bike videos. So it'll charge if I'm on a char lift or pedaling up. The battery life wasn't a huge issue, but definitely from time to time, it got annoying. The lack of space for a sd card was a big hindrance for me. I think the ultra really solves the issues the 2 and 3 had. The ability to choose aspect ratio after shooting is the best feature. The stabilization is amazing too, but don't use the magnet through the shirt. Your shirt moves too much.
r/Insta360 • I'm new to action cameras having seen the 360go 3s wishing it had longer battery life coming to find out there's a new one just released today with 200mins of battery life lol ->I don't use the magnet pendant. It's in a drawer somewhere. Forever unused. Such a dumb accessory. I use [this](https://www.amazon.com/veetalee-Insta360-Shockproof-Brackets-Threaded/dp/B0CQN4VDXC/ref=mp_s_a_1_1_sspa?adgrpid=176766564855&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.uscJ0BZkfNsqOSoLYIt_VYqGYFLkikMCkVMIhNcsGxttWnIzVBooY67h38Qn5ivMoi97dfd6YSmBq5N41UfM2-OeY5RAHHYAGvgbyuPtEmY4UyR5K1Hcd7FfQ7nAWYTmYKV7G635zQbqFWId4MaTSNPouhY9J3L7oQYzvpw1W_QpnwFLnMqWq852JhQd8uOIiD90XhgVH_u7w1RirHs24w.pQUuvef3N42zwDNQIJddsy0-wGUTgZrpz2UkYOvrpL8&dib_tag=se&hvadid=738965430438&hvdev=m&hvexpln=68&hvlocphy=9061211&hvnetw=g&hvocijid=9075839867195874841--&hvqmt=e&hvrand=9075839867195874841&hvtargid=kwd-2217976748630&hydadcr=19662_13450240&keywords=insta360+go+3+gopro+mount&mcid=38a15b5631ad3da8b67b4f41d90a4af4&qid=1755787810&sr=8-1-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9waG9uZV9zZWFyY2hfYXRm&psc=1) Then it just mounts to any standard gopro mount. I have it rigged to my chest protector, but it works with the regular chesty perfectly.
r/Insta360 • I'm new to action cameras having seen the 360go 3s wishing it had longer battery life coming to find out there's a new one just released today with 200mins of battery life lol ->The magnet is safe, but you have to plug to a power bank because you will have nearly 20 minutes of recording without it. I think also you will not have space for a longer video. With the go ultra you can put an SD Card but I think it will last 1 hour and half before overheat. Overheating isn’t dangerous because the camera shut down itself
r/Insta360 • Insta360 GO3 S : opinions ->I would wait for a sale. However: The improved 1/1.28 inch sensor in the ultra compared to the 1/2.3 inch sensor of the go 3s. There is a much better safety pendant mechanism in the ultra than the go 3s. Better battery life. The go 3s does have an extended battery pack, but it does stick out a but. The go ultra has purevideo mode, which is a game changer for low light filming. Removable SD card function up to 2 TB support
r/Insta360 • Insta360 GO 3S vs. Insta360 GO Ultra ->I had the go ultra record in moderate heat temps at 4k 30 fps for slightly over 30 minutes and the camera didn't overheat.
r/Insta360 • Insta360 GO 3S vs. Insta360 GO Ultra ->I use an Insta360 Go as I can pop out the tiny camera bit and mount it on my helmet. It only does about 40-45 mins like that but that’s enough for my commute or if I’m with others. Really nice quality. For longer rides I mount the whole thing underslung on my handlebars.
r/ukbike • Good dashcam-style cameras to cycle with? ->Oh agreed on the app, I just use it to export videos and do any editing on my PC. The mounts aren’t entirely magnetic on mine, they just help guide either the full unit or just the camera ‘puck’ into some physical clips on my handlebar mount or my helmet one. Haven’t had a crash yet but it happily stayed put on a rugged mtb ride.
r/ukbike • Good dashcam-style cameras to cycle with? ->I have an iPhone 16 pro and have been using it on the daily. But I like the Go for being a little less in-your-face when I’m vlogging in a shop or restaurant. I also like the feature of the Go automatically taking photos in set intervals during the day. It’s an easy way to capture a diary of a busy travel day. I just upgraded to the Ultra for the battery life and the removal SD card.
r/Insta360 • Why get Insta360 go Ultra for travel vlog if you got iphone 15 promax ? ->I have a GoPro and use it nearly every ride. I only notice the extra drag when I turn my head to the side. If you care about image quality, chin-mounted is the way to go. A camera inside the shield will catch glare. Also, the Insta 360 Go does not have a removable battery. You want removable batteries so you can easily swap them instead of having to carry an external battery pack. Safety-wise, my opinion isn’t based on any hard facts, so take it with a grain of salt. I don’t think action camera compromise the safety of the helmet as long as you use an adhesive bonded mount. These mounts are not designed to sustain an impact. It would easily tear or break away in a before it does any damage to head or neck. They also have the added benefit of recording evidence in case you’re in an accident with another driver. Motorcycles are the striking vehicle more than 9 times out of 10. Without video or witnesses, it’s your word against theirs. You’ll want footage to prove your innocence.
r/motorcycles • What are your thoughts on helmet mounted cameras? ->In that case, I would choose for a pro. It has the best low light and civilization and censor. But you are saying you also have a Samsung Galaxy S 22+. Not sure how great the footage of that is. But personally, my favorite to go cam is really the Insta360 Go cameras. You just record in manual. It’s really not that hard. You just wear it on your chest using the magnetic pendant. And whenever there is anything you would like to record you just press the button and it starts recording. It’s really easy to use and it helps you to get an additional layer of footage that you would otherwise miss out on.
r/Insta360 • Travelling to Turkey this December and i am planning to rent a camera. Let me know your thoughts. ->insta go is great, but the battery is only going to be 35-45 mins without the camera body.
r/trailrunning • Can anyone recommend a good action camera and head mount for running pov videos? ->Insta go is a standard for a reason
r/CompetitionShooting • Best camera for shooting USPSA ->Insta360 go. Camera and charge case is similar size of IPods Pro. Very light weight. I have a hat clip-on with a magnetic camera holder, works great. The charge case works as a remote if you don’t want to use the button on the camera.
r/gopro • I would like to buy an action camera, to clip it onto my baseballcap cuz I’ll travel a lot and want video footage for my family. ->Insta 360 go on the hat clip.
r/CompetitionShooting • Best camera for shooting USPSA ->I have owed the insta360 x2, x3, x4 and the go. The go sucks, it's no where near wide enough, and if youre using the necklace magnet to chest mount it won't hold through a ski jacket, and you will lose it. I would go for the x5 for the removeable lens. 360 cameras are so much better than single lens cameras, I would definitely get a 360 cam.
r/skiing • Best action camera for skiing? ->The image quality on any of the Insta360 Go series cameras is awful. In fact, just about all their cameras have awful image quality. I've had every iteration of Insta360 camera and was a loyalist but finally defected after the X5. Unless you're video editing guru, it's damn near impossible to get the same quality you see from the advertisements or from any of the popular youtube reviewers. With the DJI cameras, I find that you get better results without all the magic. They may not be perfect but still much better than most of Insta360's stuff. Just my two cents having used both brands extensively.
r/dji • Dji nano. Mind blowing. 🤯 I don’t think it’s worth it. Let me explain. My opinion of course. 🤨 ->I just got the insta go for POV because DJI didn’t have anything 🙃🙃🙃 would have much rather had a DJI native tool to seamlessly work with my mics
r/osmopocket • Osmo Nano just released ->I think you're going to be happier with a Pocket 3 than either of the Insta models you have. Editing 360 footage has got to be the biggest headache I've encountered while making content, it just really is not very intuitive and the files are so enormous that it's just a whole thing. I know because of its small size that the 360 Go is not offering you anywhere near the image quality you could get from a Pocket 3. I do have a mirrorless camera a la the A7III you're looking at--they have a pretty steep learning curve and when you buy a camera with interchangeable lenses like that, the camera body is kind of just the beginning of the $$$ (I paid about $1300 for my camera; I bet I have at least that in gimbals, lenses, etc to go with it to make it functional as a video production device.) I think your girl will be way less pissed about a $500 camera (especially if you end up liking it so much you sell off some of the Insta stuff) over a mirrorless camera that is probably going to have you buying more stuff for the next six months to get it to where you want it to be. (I mean, on the other hand you said girlfriend, not wife, so I don't know why what you spend your money on is any of her business tbh) It just really kind of depends on what you want to do. If you're a sucker for image quality, a 360 camera ain't it. I probably wouldn't sink the money into a mirrorless if this is a personal hobby you're not making $$$ with, or I'd go track down a serviceable used one just to see if it does it for you to save some money. TL;DR if you want it buy it, I think it's more versatile and easier to use than what you say you have. I'd sell the Go 3S if you buy the Pocket unless you really need a teeny tiny stealth camera.
r/osmopocket • Do I REALLY need a DJI Osmo Pocket 3? Or am I just collecting cameras? ->For sure I ride daily but I don’t even have a chin mount I use an insta360 with a pole mount. It’s probably still better to have one of these than nothing at all is what I’m getting at.
r/motorcycles • What are your thoughts on helmet mounted cameras? ->I'm a Photographer who recently got into videos. I have to point out that the Insta 360 video quality is nowhere like the mirrorless cameras I've had, BUT, it's really about the spontaneous moment captured with it and not the quality that I'm impressed of. I've found footages of myself in the moments of serendipity that I know I will never achieve with any of my mirrorless camera unless somebody is following me around with it. I also tried the Osmo Pocket but I certainly love the convenience of the Insta 360 more because you can choose which frame, back, front, up or down you want to finally edit for posting. Really helpful the 360 view.
r/Insta360 • Should I buy insta 360 x5? ->Hi op, one issue is you’ll now no longer be waterproof. I use the DJI mic 2 internal recording inside my helmet to a GoPro 13. You can check the sound here. [action camera with DJI mic2 inside helmet no wires retains waterproofing](https://youtu.be/y7ENSoDiaUg?feature=shared) Use the mini as the second camera, the 11 black as your main. I have a 13 as main and either an action 4 or insta 360 as handlebar.
r/gopro • GoPro 11 mini for moto vlogging ->I'd suggest you to get the Action 4. Better vfm. Can get the action 5 spare batteries for better battery life (if needed). Insta 360 is doing different ball game. It's an awesome secondary camera but not a good primary one.
r/indianbikes • Camera suggestions needed for motorcycle vlogging ->Insta 360 anytime of the day
r/indianbikes • Camera suggestions needed for motorcycle vlogging ->I would pick the dji any day over the insta 360 for a primary camera. Although the insta 360 gives a very good variety of angles, there’s not much of creative freedom that comes with it. Dji on the other hand, you can connect your mic easily for vlogging; it has better clarity, the overall quality is also much better. Accessories for the dji are priced fairly and the intsa 360 mounts are known to be fragile so I personally would stay away from those. If you already have a main camera, then go for the insta and try new angles for cinematic shots, but bear in mind, if you end up damaging the 360, there’s almost no way of getting it repaired.
r/indianbikes • Camera suggestions needed for motorcycle vlogging ->If u want to vlog n need a good low light performances than go for Action 5 pro. DJI wireless mic system can be easily paired with Action 5. Please don't go for any GoPro. DJI n Insta360 r far ahead of it interms of technology n features. If u want versatility than go for Insta 360. Also wait for few days. Amazon freedom sale will be coming. U can get better deals on both if cameras.
r/indianbikes • Camera suggestions needed for motorcycle vlogging ->Yeah, that breaking parallel ski relationship at initiation, lazy inside leg, park and ride possibly could have been helped during a couple of days of group lessons you could buy for the price of Insta 360.😉
r/ski • Which action camera is better for skiing? ->I admit I also consider insta 360 for my own ski technique improvement but still unsure about the value. My notes about your skiing are limited because such POV doesn't let me see what your body is doing. Ideally, ski technique analysis is best when a skier comes to the camera and passes it so the skier is visible from the front, side, and then the back.
