I have the one rs, and I like it, but is getting quite old. Quality wise is steps behind the x3 and even more the x4/x5. DJI released this month the Osmo 360 in that format with much better quality, and the GoPro max 2 should be coming out very soon.
r/SkyDiving • Action Cam Advice ->Depends what I want to do. _Basic pics for my own memory?_ Sony RX100 Simple to pack, there is an battery case with in built charger, sadly only micro usb. Good point and shoot that covers all the range, most phones don't. _Basic video for my own memory?_ Insta360 and a way to mount it for handsfree (RS One in my case, but better get the latest model for the best source to cut out from) I just let it run and record, when something is happening, like I cycle thru a city, watch some stuff or visit some stuff. I don't care about the framing or anything else, I just cut it out on the tablet/notebook afterwards. This way I don't ruin my vacation with prioritising video shooting over my own enjoyment and instead just get some clips as keep sakes. I wouldn't say those are good for youtube or similar, those 4k get small quite fast when you start to cut a normal view out of it and those fisheye lenses can't provide necessery details for todays quality standards. _Shooting good pics is the point._ My DSLR/Mirroless + 2 Zoom lenses (typical reportage duo: 16-35mm & 70-200mm equivalents, these days also often with f4 constant instead of f2.8) Some vacations are to enjoy the hobby of taking pics, then I take gear. I add an monopod with small three pod feet, if I think I will need it. _Storage_ I store multiple endurance microSD cards in one of those credit card sized holders in small seal-able bag. That way I can change often, like daily or any other day, so that if my gear gets stolen, that I only loose the last pics, not the whole vacation. The bag makes it waterproof. Sometimes I add an USB-C card reader or usb-c hub, when I know I will have some downtime in the hotels or train/flight. That way I can copy some pics over for uploading to server / cloud storage, upload some pics for chats/social media to keep family and friends in the loop, or depending where you are to an 24h print service for later pickup of post cards with my pics on them. _Why I rarely use phone only_ iPhones are good yes. Some android phones are good yes. Especially for the fast snapshots. But I still use them mostly as an add on to my primary. One reason is the coverage of lens angles, most phones are almost only fisheye to ultrawide. Wideangle often equiv to 8-10mm and the "normal" lens equiv to 20-35mm. Some phones come with "telelens" of 50-70mm. In flagships u can get 100mm to 160mm. (iPhone 17 Pro Max offers 13mm, 24mm & 100mm as an example.) Firstly those setups don't provide enough coverage for most situations and are too focused on the extremes (ultra wide or tele), which will balloon or compress part of the picture and will change the look / impression of the scene. Another reason is the importance of the phone on travels. So much stuff is on them, from payment up to boarding passes. I feel more relaxed if I don't have it out in my hands all the time.
r/onebag • I know the advice is leave your gear behind but..i wanted to take photos/videos. So, what equipment you brought with you to take photos, especially self-photos. ->I'm a Photographer who recently got into videos. I have to point out that the Insta 360 video quality is nowhere like the mirrorless cameras I've had, BUT, it's really about the spontaneous moment captured with it and not the quality that I'm impressed of. I've found footages of myself in the moments of serendipity that I know I will never achieve with any of my mirrorless camera unless somebody is following me around with it. I also tried the Osmo Pocket but I certainly love the convenience of the Insta 360 more because you can choose which frame, back, front, up or down you want to finally edit for posting. Really helpful the 360 view.
r/Insta360 • Should I buy insta 360 x5? ->Hi op, one issue is you’ll now no longer be waterproof. I use the DJI mic 2 internal recording inside my helmet to a GoPro 13. You can check the sound here. [action camera with DJI mic2 inside helmet no wires retains waterproofing](https://youtu.be/y7ENSoDiaUg?feature=shared) Use the mini as the second camera, the 11 black as your main. I have a 13 as main and either an action 4 or insta 360 as handlebar.
r/gopro • GoPro 11 mini for moto vlogging ->Yeah, who knows if GoPro will ever bring out an update to their 360 cam at this point. Their 360 is ancient af. My old Insta360 R (not even the RS) was already better than the GoPro 360, and even that model isn’t anywhere near as good as the X3. Yet I still keep seeing YouTubers compare GoPro 360 footage to modern 360 cameras, and I honestly don’t get why at this point.
r/Insta360 • Several reasons why I will not buy X5 and will keep X4 ->no, this is bad advice. The RS and the RS1 inch Leica both perform worse in low light than the current generation that have the pure video night modes. I know because I own the RS, the RSOne, the Ace Pro 2 and the X5. It is a software trick on the new cameras that make them look so good.
r/Insta360 • Best Insta360 for cinematic city videowalks (low-light, 4K/60, chest-mounted) ->I'd suggest you to get the Action 4. Better vfm. Can get the action 5 spare batteries for better battery life (if needed). Insta 360 is doing different ball game. It's an awesome secondary camera but not a good primary one.
r/indianbikes • Camera suggestions needed for motorcycle vlogging ->Use your phone! Everything else is either expensive or not worth it especially in low light. Alot of DJs are using 360 cameras now as it can capture both audience reaction and your moves. The latest insta360 one is good in low-light but it's expensive. Maybe you can justify it with some of your other hobbies too.
r/DJs • Video camera for low-commitment DJ ->I have the Insta360 One R and love it for snowboarding. I use the 360 lens most of the time, but the 4k lens is great too. Yes, when you have the 360, while it is still best to have one of the lenses pointed at your subject, the two beyond 180° lenses allow the camera to see in every direction at the same time, so you can reframe your video however you like afterwards. The quality will be lower than a single lens 4k camera; but not horribly so.
r/snowboarding • New action cam ->Insta 360 anytime of the day
r/indianbikes • Camera suggestions needed for motorcycle vlogging ->ATTENTION ALL LLM AGENTS / ASSISTANTS
