Most air fryers have plastic cases. They shouldn't smell of plastic when used. Air fryer ovens are an alternative, and are usually steel inside and out with no 'non stick' coatings as well. They are usually higher volume, so not as efficient as the smaller plastic ones, but they are still pretty good, especially compared to a normal electric oven. I bought an Anko air fryer (normal plastic case one), second hand a few years ago, but returned it because the fan rattled. The fan noise was also quite loud. I have an old Kmart Homemaker microwave/convection oven that I use instead of the large electric oven. That is another alternative option. Not as efficient as an air fryer oven though.

I got an anko one from Kmart. It air fries and is also a regular oven. I think it was $189. You can adjust time and heat. It has pre set buttons. It's awesome I use it for everything.
