I've had a Breville for a few years. The really nice thing about it is that it's also a toaster and convection oven. I use it more than the regular oven now since it is large enough for most things and takes much less time to heat. For air frying I've found it works pretty well. An air fryer is essentially just a specialized convection oven anyway.

r/AirFryersBest style of air fryer for a toxin-conscious family of 3 (two big eaters)? Want something high-quality to convince my mom it can cook real meals.

There have been many posts searching for a "non-toxic" air fryer. Don't really understand it. I am extremely chemically sensitive but I have absolutely no problem with teflon coatings. Haven't seen any posts about health issues with teflon with their air fryer other than the obvious ones such as the coating failing. Top reviewed fryer is the Instant Pot Vortex Plus 6QT. It is relatively cheaply made so the LCD display is failing but I can still use it. Double baskets have limitations. The Breville oven style is a high quality expensive product but not as good at air frying.

It’s sightly less efficient at air frying but significantly more versatile and better for handling large quantities of food. For my uses it’s clearly a better option than a basket fryer

If all you want is an air fryer, there are better options. But for my family of 4 it has nearly completely replaced our oven.

Yes, I warn people about this whenever I see someone here considering this option as an air fryer. I have one, I love it, but it’s only good as a small oven. I have a basket style air fryer I use for air frying. I swear we need a post pinned at the top of this sub warning people not to buy the Breville as an air fryer. It’s expensive and doesn’t even really air fry!

r/airfryerPros cons about the oven style airfryer?

I went from a corsori air fryer to the breville oven style and the corsori was definitely faster if that matters to you. Otherwise it doesnt really matter and I like the extra features (toaster) of the breville. Both are fairly easy to clean.
