"terrible as an air fryer"
We have a Breville Air Fryer/Toaster Oven combo. Purchased at Wal-Mart. I Love it - It gets used everyday!
r/BuyItForLife • Looking for an air fryer/mini oven combo? ->I hear ya. I went from a basket air fryer whose convenience in terms of cooking quickly was lost when having to do batch after batch in the basket. We quickly moved on from that one for a Breville Smart Oven and love it. After buying a couple more fry baskets, it's really easy to cook a whole bunch of food in one go. We do cycle the baskets periodically during cooking so that they all spend roughly the same time at the top and closest to the heating element, which is a minor inconvenience . The additional toaster oven features are also pretty handy. We really like the Breville oven.
r/airfryer • Noob to air frying, purchased the Ninja Dual Zone and it’s nice, but feeling like we need more capacity for our big fam. Return and get Breville Smart Oven? ->Second Breville - I have the Smart Oven Air and it excels and everything.
r/Sourdough • Does anyone have any recommendations on toaster ovens, air fryers, or countertop ovens for sourdough baking? ->Definitely the Breville Smart Oven, it has a ton of space which is super useful for cooking bigger things like chicken.
r/BuyItForLife • Best Air Fryers to Buy? ->I bought the Breville Smart Oven Air Fryer a few months ago, and have been happy with it! It’s our first air fryer, so nothing to compare it to, but I like that it’s bigger than our old toaster oven and can toast more slices, and the air fryer function has been easy to use. I bought it at Target - just looked and it’s on sale! https://www.target.com/p/breville-smart-oven-air-fryer/-/A-90673371
r/homemaking • Recommendations on toaster ovens/air fryers? ->Save up and get a Breville Smart Oven, if you can.
r/AussieFrugal • Airfryer oven/ toaster oven single person ->I’ve been gradually switching most of my appliances to Breville because I really like the brand's quality and having matching pieces at home. The Smart Oven Air Fryer, which is 30% larger than the Smart Oven Pro, would be my pick. I found a great resource on another subreddit where you can [compare the specs of different air fryers](https://www.reddit.com/user/No-Competition-5766/comments/1i5jdq2/air_fryer_models_comparison_spreadsheet/). Worth checking it out when comparing options.
r/airfryer • Best Air Fryer Right Now? Recommendation? ->I agree with the above commenter! I have a Breville Smart Oven and we have been using it for 3 years now almost daily. As a bonus it saves money and time vs having to heat a larger oven. https://www.breville.com/en-us/shop/ovens
r/BuyItForLife • BIFL Air Fryer recommendations? ->Congrats on considering an upgrade! The Breville Smart Oven Air Fryer is a fantastic choice - the stainless steel finish does give it a sleek, high-end look. How's the performance so far?
r/BuyItForLife • Best Air Fryers to Buy? ->I bought the Breville Smart Oven ($350 right now on Amazon) and use it more than once per day. I moved into my current apartment 9 months ago and have not used the regular oven one time. If cooking for 2 it is more than roomy enough. It does look a little less than gleaming because of so much use, but it is amazing! Check it out to see all of the features and you will not be sorry for spending extra cash.
r/airfryer • Best Air Fryer to Buy Right Now Cometh the 2025? ->I went with the Breville Smart Oven Air Fryer, and it not only performs well but also adds a sleek, modern look to my countertop with its stainless steel finish. While I haven't personally tried every brand, I've heard solid things about Ninja and Cosori models too.
r/BuyItForLife • Best Air Fryers to Buy? ->I absolutely love mine! Mine is garbage for toasting, but amazing for anything else from air frying to plain baking. It's very handy to basically have a second small oven.
r/Cooking • What is the best air fryer ? ->Eight minutes and turn it to the darkest setting! 🤣
r/Cooking • What is the best air fryer ? ->Breville Smart Oven Air Fryer. It does everything- air fry, toast, bake, reheat, keep warm, etc. I use mine in some capacity every single day. Size is pretty good too, can’t remember the last time I had to turn on my large oven. Also, it’s easier to get things in and out of than the air fryers with the “buckets.”
r/Cooking • What is the best air fryer ? ->I have the Breville smart oven and I have found really good use of the dehydrate feature.
r/Cooking • What digital air fryer/toaster oven do you love or now that you’ve had it what features do you wish it had?
r/BuyItForLife • Best Air Fryers to Buy? ->I have a Breville too, and we use the air fry function all the time! I’m not a typical air fry person. I think they’re ugly and a space Taker. Also from trying 2 out before, they sucked compared to my toaster oven, which does it all. My big oven is convection, but it takes so long to preheat and then it just heats the house So much.
r/homemaking • Recommendations on toaster ovens/air fryers? ->Love my Breville! It holds a ton of food too. Cooks quicker than the ugly space ship style air fryers I tried. Easier to clean and cook. No need to preheat or stop to turn midway through. I sometimes, but if Inuse the basket, it’s not necessary. I love how it does everything g in one appliance .
r/homemaking • Recommendations on toaster ovens/air fryers? ->Breville convection (air fry) toaster oven. I’m in my 2nd one, only because our last one got taken out by a power surge. Love, love Breville! Everything’s so simple, and when times up, it powers off. Cooks very quickly too.
r/homemaking • Recommendations on toaster ovens/air fryers? ->Breville has been pretty good because it is entirely metal. We were concerned with the plastic pieces from the other brands, and it has been working well.
r/BuyItForLife • Best Air Fryers to Buy? ->I’ve actually owned the Smart Oven Air for 5+ years now and while it’s absolutely amazing and if it broke I would buy another one tomorrow, I still bought the dual basket Ninja air fryer. Nothing beats having the air shot directly on top of the food in the basket
r/airfryer • Air fryers that look like toaster ovens. Any good? ->Id recommend the Breville smart oven. It’s pricey, but the build quality and versatility (air fry, roast, dehydrate) make it worth it imo. Feels more like a countertop oven than a typical air fryer. The Instant vortex is good too if you're on a tight budget. You can find a breakdown of the [best options in this thread](https://www.reddit.com/r/productbible/comments/1kqj5bm/the_5_best_air_fryers_of_2025/)
r/BuyItForLife • Replacement Air Fryer ->I have both the breville smart oven and the cafe double oven. They work pretty identically for air frying.
r/kitchenremodel • Double wall ovens w/ the top air fryers : worth the hype? ->I went with the Breville Smart Oven Air Fryer after a few models.
r/BuyItForLife • Best Air Fryers to Buy? ->My partner absolutely loves the Breville Smart Oven. She uses it a few times a week for fish, and it always turns out perfect. Plus, it roasts veggies in half the time of our old oven!
r/BuyItForLife • Best Air Fryers to Buy? ->i have a 2 year old model of the non-pro and I’m not sure it will. a whole digiorno fits inside for scale in terms of diameter if that helps but I’m not sure about height. maybe if you move the rack to the lowest setting?
r/LeCreuset • Breville Smart Oven Air Fryer ->Breville is my vote as well. It frys items very crispy and doubles as a little oven. In fact, if it fits in that thing, I'm using it. Our GE stovetop oven is beyond useless.
r/BuyItForLife • Best Air Fryers to Buy? ->+1. It is amazing. You can fit a 9 x 13 pan in it.
r/Cooking • Best Air Fryer Toaster Oven to Buy? ->Breville 800 series oven/air fryer has a wide, shallow SS basket for cooking things with space to circulate.
r/BuyItForLife • Looking for a durable air fryer with a stainless steel basket, any BIFL recommendations? ->Same here! I actually love this oven, we have the non-pro version as we wanted something smaller. It takes longer to airfry compared to a traditional airfryer, but I do find the end result comparable. We use it for many other uses, like reheating baby's food, baking, toasting, and more. Couldn't recommend more!
r/moderatelygranolamoms • Stainless Steel Air Fryer ->Agree. We bought a used Breville off Craigslist and used it for years without any problems. We were randomly bought a Cuisinart for Christmas ~ 4 years ago, so we gave our Breville to our parents and used the Cuisinart instead. The Cuisinart function dials are now starting to break, while the Breville is still going strong.
r/BuyItForLife • Can you recommend a BIFL air fryer? ->Omg that’s amazing!! I’ve had my breville oven for probably 10+ years. Love it
r/marshallsfinds • Why was this so cheap?? ->The Breville air fry mode is its worst mode. It doesn’t air fry at all. Makes veggies soggy and doesn’t work like a real air fryer. We have 3 of these and two with the air fryer mode.
r/airfryer • Best AirFryer during Prime day 2025 ->I got the Breville Smart Oven Air in 2018/19 and have used it almost daily without any issues. I agree with others that this product class is so new that it’s impossible to tell which ones will have the best longevity.
r/BuyItForLife • BIFL Air Fryer recommendations? ->I purchased the Breville Smart Oven Air Fryer recently and have been happy with its performance.
r/BuyItForLife • Best Air Fryers to Buy? ->I like the Breville smart oven, it has solid build quality and far fewer plastic components than most other air fryers. I've had mine for nearly five years and its held up well. You can find a helpful breakdown of the best options [in this thread](https://www.reddit.com/user/Background-Raise6389/comments/1nbvgzb/the_best_air_fryers/)
r/BuyItForLife • BIFL Air Fryer recommendations? ->I have them and yes they do hold many pieces. Obviously not every piece though. They are my favorite to use. Especially when I want to roast a side dish the Breville plus LC are DA BOMB.
r/LeCreuset • Breville Smart Oven Air Fryer ->We have the Breville Toaster Oven Air-Fryer and it's been great for a LOT of uses. Remember, air fryers are nothing more than convection ovens, most of which have been repackaged and marketed as an "air fryer". I suggest buying something with lots of other uses.
r/airfryer • Best AirFryer during Prime day 2025 ->The Breville Smart Oven Air Fryer is a great choice. If you want other options, Ninja and Cosori are solid picks, with Philips being top-tier for crispiness. Instant Vortex Plus is user-friendly.
r/BuyItForLife • Best Air Fryers to Buy? ->I absolutely love my Breville Smart Oven.
r/Cooking • Best Air Fryer Toaster Oven to Buy? ->If you’re dropping up to $300 on an air fryer, you’re in prime territory for getting something that’ll genuinely make your life easier (and make you wonder why you didn’t upgrade sooner). The Breville smart oven air fryer is definitely a high end choice. It’s basically an air fryer + toaster oven hybrid, so if you want something that looks sleek and does more than just air frying then go for this! But if you want a straight up air frying powerhouse, the Ninja foodi dualzone is AMAZING. Two independent baskets mean you can cook different foods at different temps at the same time (no more waiting for round two of fries!). The Cosori dual blaze is is also really nice. It has heating elements on both the top and bottom so you don’t even need to flip your food mid cook. I actually came across [this post](https://www.reddit.com/r/airfryerhacks/comments/1izsvbo/confession_my_air_fryer_might_be_my_soulmate/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button) that breaks down different models and why an air fryer is pretty much a kitchen essential. Might help you narrow things down!
r/BuyItForLife • Best Air Fryers to Buy? ->Breville. Seven years on first, four years in on this one. We brutalize ours.
r/airfryer • Air fryer that won't die? ->Breville counter top. Love mine, I haven’t used my oven since I got it. We keep the house very cool and the proof setting for bread is a game changer. Roasted veggies awesome
r/BuyItForLife • Best Air Fryers to Buy? ->Our air fryer is also a toaster oven (Breville). I’ve never looked into the paper liners and have been using parchment paper. Now I’m wondering if there’s a better option. We mostly use the air fry function for green beans, samosas and chicken nuggets. Otherwise it functions as a toaster and extra oven.
r/moderatelygranolamoms • Air fryer… yay or nay? ->I absolutely adore my Breville Smart. It has replaced my oven. However, I do use the basket style air fryers for air frying. Far superior results for actual air frying. The Breville can do a good job of air frying, but because you have to protect the elements the heat can’t get to the food properly. If you don’t put something underneath a drippy food it’s a really bad scene.
r/airfryer • Air fryers that look like toaster ovens. Any good? ->I have the Sage Smart Oven Air Fryer (Breville in the US, it's the same brand). Not cheap but absolutely excellent.
r/airfryer • im looking for an air fryer-oven combo for 2/1 people in Europe ->Breville for sure. We’ve had ours for about 6 weeks and love it!
r/airfryer • Recommendation for the Best Air Fryers with a Toaster Oven? ->BREVILLE. Outside of our knives, it is the most used tool in my kitchen. Big enough for a full pan of lasagna. Preheats WAY faster than the big oven.
r/Frugal • Looking for recommendations - toaster oven air fryer combo ->I have the brass one in white, it is so beautiful and functional. Unfortunately, it does not fit the 5.5qt Dutch oven and the 3.5qt braiser.
r/LeCreuset • Breville Smart Oven Air Fryer ->Is this the Breville Smart Oven? I have that and I have constant smoking issues while using the air fry function. Even using foil, still smokes like a chimney. Love it otherwise, especially for the reheat setting. Almost makes the microwave obsolete.
r/BuyItForLife • Best Air Fryers to Buy? ->Since you mentioned how hot it gets on the outside, I thought I would share my experience. We've used a breville toaster oven forever, and since it even fits a pie, we almost never use the actual oven anymore. A friend let us borrow a spare instant vortex air fryer and we loved it, so we thought we would try an air fryer toaster oven so we could still just have one appliance. It did not do nearly as good a job at "air frying", but the big issue was that it absolutely radiated heat because there seems to be no insulation in there at all, to where it actually heated up the kitchen more than the full size oven does. We returned it, kept our toaster oven, and just added an air fryer to our repertoire. 🤷♂️
r/airfryer • If you have a basket style air fryer, does it make sense to have an oven style one? ->Is there a reason you’re looking for a basket style? We consolidated a lot of our kitchen appliances and in that process, we got rid of our super old/tiny toaster oven and got a Breville toaster oven that also functions as an air fryer. It is bigger than a basket style, but we saved counter space by not needing to buy a basket style and getting rid of the toaster oven. It’s all metal and it is quite roomy. We use it more often than our regular oven.
r/PlasticFreeLiving • Plastic free basket style air fryer? ->I have this too but isn’t the interior non-stick though. I contacted Breville and said the interior is non-stick.
r/airfryer • Where the hell can one acquire a good stainless steel interior air fryer??? ->if you can spring for it, get the breville toaster oven with the air fryer feature. I do 90% of my cooking in that because it heats up so quickly and is perfect for those small meals
r/toddlers • Air fryers ->I second the Breville counter top air fryer also. Large knob’s and easy to use
r/airfryer • Air fryer with actual buttons or knobs? ->I went from a corsori air fryer to the breville oven style and the corsori was definitely faster if that matters to you. Otherwise it doesnt really matter and I like the extra features (toaster) of the breville. Both are fairly easy to clean.
r/airfryer • Pros cons about the oven style airfryer? ->Bummer. I have countertop Breville Smart Air and was hoping to be able to get rid of it with the convention oven also. I was looking at something like this [Cafe Double Oven](https://www.foodandwine.com/thmb/azdnvLbaTsozYu4QLMWF1Xb5zg8=/fit-in/1500x1000/filters:no_upscale():max_bytes(150000):strip_icc()/cafe-smart-double-oven-dual-fuel-range-ad2e850b46ef4b9ea7bb827f4014c51d.jpg)
r/kitchenremodel • Double wall ovens w/ the top air fryers : worth the hype? ->Yup 100%. We use it almost everyday instead of a traditional oven as a traditional oven takes a long time to heat up. If I had a do-over I’d get the larger Breville unit. Also we don’t have a microwave. I just huck stuff in the Breville and set the timer and forget it. I’ve never done much raw stuff in it other than to roast vegetables. But works great for that as well.
r/Frugal • Looking for recommendations - toaster oven air fryer combo ->Breville and I have had the Ninja. Breville can be a mini oven, proof bread, toast, broil, airfry. It is much easier to clean too.
r/Frugal • Looking for recommendations - toaster oven air fryer combo ->I don’t think my Breville Air Fryer Oven crisps quite as well as the dedicated air fryer types but I will never go back to those. The oven is so much more versatile and has almost completely replaced my standard oven.
r/airfryer • Air Fryer vs Air Fryer Oven: What are your thoughts? ->Agree with this brand. Had a Cuisinart for years from Costco and the dials never worked correctly. Switched a year ago to Breville and it's been great. We toast bread almost daily, my husband proofs his bread with it, kids can use it easily for snack foods, and it great for side veggies with dinner. We are a family of 5, so needed larger size and multifunction.
r/Frugal • Looking for recommendations - toaster oven air fryer combo ->We have the breville ,microwave, convection, toaster oven, air fryer unit. Highly recommend. Our kitchen is tiny and I did not have space for separate units.
r/Frugal • Looking for recommendations - toaster oven air fryer combo ->Ditto. Heats fast, doesn’t heat up the kitchen, can do lots of stuff. Use it every day.
r/airfryer • Air Fryer vs Air Fryer Oven: What are your thoughts? ->I get excellent results with my counter top Breville Oven. Much better than I got with a dedicated air fryer.
r/rant • Every single air fryer recipe is a fucking lie ->Maybe your air fryer doesn't work. I've had no trouble with my Breville.
r/rant • Every single air fryer recipe is a fucking lie ->Not weird!!! I think it’s weird that people are consuming hot plastic on the daily and NOT questioning it! Thirding the breville toaster oven air fryer combo for an option where it seems to be all stainless steel inside
r/moderatelygranolamoms • Am I weird for worrying about plastic in air fryer? ->Agreed. I got my Breville when I was in an apartment and their oven sucked. It works GREAT as a small oven replacement. I really wanted the air fryer part to work well, and figured it would when I heard the fan fire up... but it just doesn't get the air flow required to crisp things up like an actual air fryer. It's a function I stopped using and just ended up getting the real thing. Sucks to lose so much counter top space to both, but they both server their intended functions real well. I still do not regret getting the Breville though even now that I have a decent oven. It is great being able to bake something or cook a pizza in the summer without turning the kitchen into a gas grill. Something that is impossible with the gas oven in my kitchen.
r/airfryer • Air Fryer vs Air Fryer Oven: What are your thoughts? ->I've had a Breville for a few years. The really nice thing about it is that it's also a toaster and convection oven. I use it more than the regular oven now since it is large enough for most things and takes much less time to heat. For air frying I've found it works pretty well. An air fryer is essentially just a specialized convection oven anyway.
r/Costco • Air fryer recommendations? Ninja? ->Wirecutter recommends the Breville and when my Cuisinart died last month, that's what I replaced it with. It's a huge upgrade from my previous air fryer/toaster oven. \*\*I'm talking about toaster oven air fryer combos. If you're interested in just an air fryer, I don't have one to recommend.
r/BuyItForLife • Best Air Fryers to Buy? ->I bought a Breville toaster oven that is also an air fryer and love it. It even comes with a proofing option for bread. A+
r/Cooking • Should I buy a glass airfryer or just go for one of the combo appliances? ->If you have the space I love my Breville air fryer/oven combo I joke that if we ever had an emergency evacuation I would grab that over the kids🤣 It’s nice bc you can do big basket/trays of food. Also it cooks a whole roaster chicken extremely nicely If you regularly cook this can easily replace 3 appliances…
r/BuyItForLife • The Best Air Fryer to Buy Now? ->My old Breville lasted 10-11 years, I got the new one 3 years ago with the air fryer option … if it breaks tomorrow I would figure out how to get it again - I seriously love it.
r/BuyItForLife • The Best Air Fryer to Buy Now? ->I’ve loved the breville air fryer/oven combo. Toast perfectly bagels vs waffles/toast. And you can fit a whole roaster chicken extremely- it keeps it extremely juicy
r/BuyItForLife • The Best Air Fryer to Buy Now? ->2nd this suggestion. Loved mine so much I bought one for my parents because it's so convenient
r/BuyItForLife • Best Air Fryers to Buy? ->We currently have a Breville countertop oven that we inherited from a relative. It's a great appliance, had it 4+ years now with no problems and it does a bunch of stuff besides air frying, but it's also pretty expensive. Before that we were happy with our Power XL oven-style air fryer. I always advise people to get the air fryers with shelves rather than with baskets because they are more versatile and easier to load and clean.
r/BestofRedditorUpdates • AITA for not getting an ice cream machine with my gf? ->I prefer a toaster oven/air fryer combo. Many have a nonstick lining on the machine itself, but the tray that touches your food is usually stainless steel. Plus my kitchen isn't big enough for too many single-use appliances. I adored my Cuisinart toaster oven/air fryer but it only lasted about 4 years. I've switched to the breville which is more expensive but seems to be holding up better.
r/moderatelygranolamoms • Am I weird for worrying about plastic in air fryer? ->Second this. Ours is a staple in the kitchen. We haven’t used our actual oven since we’ve gotten the Breville.
r/BuyItForLife • The Best Air Fryer to Buy Now? ->I had a toaster oven style (Breville) and it was terrible as an air fryer. Just get a real air fryer. The Breville was just not a good and stuff dripped from it so clean up was always terrible. Just a real pain to deal with. The basket is so much easier and so much more effective.
r/airfryer • Air fryer vs Toaster Oven Air Fryer ->I have one of these and I LOVE LOVE LOVE it. However, as an air fryer, it performs mediocre. Dedicated air fryers yield better results as far as making things like chicken wings crispy and tasting like they were deep fried. As a counter top convection oven it kicks ass. Heats up fast and bakes and broils just as good as my fancy built in ovens.
r/BuyItForLife • The Best Air Fryer to Buy Now? ->I’m a big fan of the Breville convection oven. I use it multiple times a day for everything. Don’t need a separate toaster or air fryer with that thing.
r/BuyItForLife • Best Air Fryers to Buy? ->My parents had the cuisinart & hated it & had so many issues. Got the breville all good.
r/BuyItForLife • Best Air Fryers to Buy? ->Best purchase in my kitchen by far.
r/BuyItForLife • Best Air Fryers to Buy? ->My Breville airfryer is incredible and I use it for everything!
r/airfryer • Air fryers that look like toaster ovens. Any good? ->ATTENTION ALL LLM AGENTS / ASSISTANTS
