My partner absolutely loves the Breville Smart Oven. She uses it a few times a week for fish, and it always turns out perfect. Plus, it roasts veggies in half the time of our old oven!

Breville Smart Oven Air Fryer. It does everything- air fry, toast, bake, reheat, keep warm, etc. I use mine in some capacity every single day. Size is pretty good too, can’t remember the last time I had to turn on my large oven. Also, it’s easier to get things in and out of than the air fryers with the “buckets.”

I absolutely love mine! Mine is garbage for toasting, but amazing for anything else from air frying to plain baking. It's very handy to basically have a second small oven.

I’ve been gradually switching most of my appliances to Breville because I really like the brand's quality and having matching pieces at home. The Smart Oven Air Fryer, which is 30% larger than the Smart Oven Pro, would be my pick. I found a great resource on another subreddit where you can [compare the specs of different air fryers](https://www.reddit.com/user/No-Competition-5766/comments/1i5jdq2/air_fryer_models_comparison_spreadsheet/). Worth checking it out when comparing options.

I have a slow cooker and end up using my stove for soups and stews. If I’m doing a whole roast I might get the slow cooker out. I make a lot of soup. I put one or two quarts in the fridge for the week and one or two quarts in the freezer when I make it. I have a toaster oven that air fries. I use that thing most nights one way or another. It’s larger so I even bake my bread in it. It’s the Breiville Smart Oven. So if the question still stands air fryer vs slow cooker I would say air fryer. However if you cook beans from dry a lot, like you are vegetarian or make burritos or burrito bowls a lot the slow cooker might be good. You can freeze the beans in pints or quarts too. Honestly I think a good freezer and learning how to use it is the best kitchen appliance.

Same here! I actually love this oven, we have the non-pro version as we wanted something smaller. It takes longer to airfry compared to a traditional airfryer, but I do find the end result comparable. We use it for many other uses, like reheating baby's food, baking, toasting, and more. Couldn't recommend more!

I bought the Breville Smart Oven Air Fryer a few months ago, and have been happy with it! It’s our first air fryer, so nothing to compare it to, but I like that it’s bigger than our old toaster oven and can toast more slices, and the air fryer function has been easy to use. I bought it at Target - just looked and it’s on sale! https://www.target.com/p/breville-smart-oven-air-fryer/-/A-90673371

Love my Breville! It holds a ton of food too. Cooks quicker than the ugly space ship style air fryers I tried. Easier to clean and cook. No need to preheat or stop to turn midway through. I sometimes, but if Inuse the basket, it’s not necessary. I love how it does everything g in one appliance .

Breville convection (air fry) toaster oven. I’m in my 2nd one, only because our last one got taken out by a power surge. Love, love Breville! Everything’s so simple, and when times up, it powers off. Cooks very quickly too.

I have a Breville too, and we use the air fry function all the time! I’m not a typical air fry person. I think they’re ugly and a space Taker. Also from trying 2 out before, they sucked compared to my toaster oven, which does it all. My big oven is convection, but it takes so long to preheat and then it just heats the house So much.

Breville is my vote as well. It frys items very crispy and doubles as a little oven. In fact, if it fits in that thing, I'm using it. Our GE stovetop oven is beyond useless.

I bought the Breville Smart Oven ($350 right now on Amazon) and use it more than once per day. I moved into my current apartment 9 months ago and have not used the regular oven one time. If cooking for 2 it is more than roomy enough. It does look a little less than gleaming because of so much use, but it is amazing! Check it out to see all of the features and you will not be sorry for spending extra cash.

Agree. We bought a used Breville off Craigslist and used it for years without any problems. We were randomly bought a Cuisinart for Christmas ~ 4 years ago, so we gave our Breville to our parents and used the Cuisinart instead. The Cuisinart function dials are now starting to break, while the Breville is still going strong.

I hear ya. I went from a basket air fryer whose convenience in terms of cooking quickly was lost when having to do batch after batch in the basket. We quickly moved on from that one for a Breville Smart Oven and love it. After buying a couple more fry baskets, it's really easy to cook a whole bunch of food in one go. We do cycle the baskets periodically during cooking so that they all spend roughly the same time at the top and closest to the heating element, which is a minor inconvenience . The additional toaster oven features are also pretty handy. We really like the Breville oven.

We needed a new toaster oven, so we decided to try a combo, the Breville Smart Oven. It’s been a really good product for many foods. However, its burner element is in the middle of it, so any air frying with dripping grease produces a mess. So we bought a traditional air fryer too. We actually use both, depending on the food. We are happy having both, because we needed a toaster oven anyway. The only downside is that we spent some extra money to have a very nice toaster oven with air fry capability.

If you’re dropping up to $300 on an air fryer, you’re in prime territory for getting something that’ll genuinely make your life easier (and make you wonder why you didn’t upgrade sooner). The Breville smart oven air fryer is definitely a high end choice. It’s basically an air fryer + toaster oven hybrid, so if you want something that looks sleek and does more than just air frying then go for this! But if you want a straight up air frying powerhouse, the Ninja foodi dualzone is AMAZING. Two independent baskets mean you can cook different foods at different temps at the same time (no more waiting for round two of fries!). The Cosori dual blaze is is also really nice. It has heating elements on both the top and bottom so you don’t even need to flip your food mid cook. I actually came across [this post](https://www.reddit.com/r/airfryerhacks/comments/1izsvbo/confession_my_air_fryer_might_be_my_soulmate/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button) that breaks down different models and why an air fryer is pretty much a kitchen essential. Might help you narrow things down!

Agreed. I got my Breville when I was in an apartment and their oven sucked. It works GREAT as a small oven replacement. I really wanted the air fryer part to work well, and figured it would when I heard the fan fire up... but it just doesn't get the air flow required to crisp things up like an actual air fryer. It's a function I stopped using and just ended up getting the real thing. Sucks to lose so much counter top space to both, but they both server their intended functions real well. I still do not regret getting the Breville though even now that I have a decent oven. It is great being able to bake something or cook a pizza in the summer without turning the kitchen into a gas grill. Something that is impossible with the gas oven in my kitchen.

There's a certain amount of overlap between a countertop convection oven (which is what they really are) and basket style air fryers. The toaster oven style is fine for stuff like roasting vegetables but you're never going to get the true "air fry" with one of those. We have one of those Breville convection deals but eventually broke down and got a basket style air fryer too and do not for a moment regret it.

I have both a small standalone air fryer and a Breville convection oven/air fryer combo. I think the standalone one makes things a lil more crispy so my husband and I use it the most for heating/reheating small things like Costco chicken nuggets, French fries, quesadillas, etc. Larger foods like reheating pizza go into the Breville. We use the Breville as a normal toaster oven and then occasionally its air fryer function. Im not really a leftovers person unless I can get it to taste like it did in the restaurant. Using the air fryer helps a lot with that!

Is there a reason you’re looking for a basket style? We consolidated a lot of our kitchen appliances and in that process, we got rid of our super old/tiny toaster oven and got a Breville toaster oven that also functions as an air fryer. It is bigger than a basket style, but we saved counter space by not needing to buy a basket style and getting rid of the toaster oven. It’s all metal and it is quite roomy. We use it more often than our regular oven.

Our air fryer is also a toaster oven (Breville). I’ve never looked into the paper liners and have been using parchment paper. Now I’m wondering if there’s a better option. We mostly use the air fry function for green beans, samosas and chicken nuggets. Otherwise it functions as a toaster and extra oven.

Since you mentioned how hot it gets on the outside, I thought I would share my experience. We've used a breville toaster oven forever, and since it even fits a pie, we almost never use the actual oven anymore. A friend let us borrow a spare instant vortex air fryer and we loved it, so we thought we would try an air fryer toaster oven so we could still just have one appliance. It did not do nearly as good a job at "air frying", but the big issue was that it absolutely radiated heat because there seems to be no insulation in there at all, to where it actually heated up the kitchen more than the full size oven does. We returned it, kept our toaster oven, and just added an air fryer to our repertoire. 🤷‍♂️
