Chefman air fryers do not have the cancer causing chemicals and they work great

Chefman uses a basket. I have a breville smart oven that has an air fry function, and you are correct basket are better for air frying. I own the Chefman stainless steel 8qt XL. This is the model I can vouch for

The convection style air fryers that look like mini ovens don’t air fry as well as the basket fryers. The only exception is the instant pot vortex plus that still utilizes the top down fan. So keep that in mind as the oven style ones will take longer to crisp things up (bigger size with a weaker fan). All are pretty difficult to clean but I would avoid the ninja flip for that reason, it has heating coils that are impossible to clean under and will look terrible pretty quickly if you don’t deep clean after every use (depending on what you are cooking). Toasting is also better from a dedicated toaster, I find it dries out the bread too much in the oven. I personally have the cosori ceramic now since it’s easier to clean but honestly the cheap chefman basket style air fryer I bought for 30$ back in the day was a much better air fryer, most air fryer directions I think are for basket style as the oven style I need to keep it running for quite a few more minutes at a higher temp to get it crispy

I’ve never used the instant pot air fryer lid myself (although I do have an instant pot), my main concern for it is not having any airflow underneath the food, but I see from the product details it does have a fryer basket which basically turns it into a large basket style air fryer which should work better than an oven style convection. The only downside I see is it seems kind of like a pain in the ass to have to assemble it before being able to throw your food in vs just having a dedicated air fryer on the counter, but the upside is it seems a lot easier to clean it all

I decided to upgrade to a big oven style one after my cheap chefman finally died, was so disappointed when none of the air fryer directions worked, not even close to the same. I just bought the Costco gourmia on sale for a real air fryer

I’m pretty happy with it, especially for the price $45 right now. My review is it def works better than my convection at air frying, the amount of time it takes is correct for the package instructions for air fryers. The touch screen makes it feel more expensive than what I paid, the only issue I have with it is it always starts at 20 minutes when you select it but it moves pretty quickly when you hold it down. I don’t really use the turn reminder as I usually set it on my phone and go do something else but I don’t mind it. Preheating, since it is much larger at 8 qts than my old chefman xl it does take a few minutes to preheat. Overall for the price it can’t be beat.

The chef man has nonstick right in the title, that means it has Teflon sadly

First of all, stay far away from 2QT. That is way too small. Also, there are some decent cheap brands like Gourmia and Chefman. I actually got a nice Philips 6.6QT pretty cheap ($90 CAD/$65 USD) and I love it. Got my mother an 8QT Chefman for the same price.

I've had a few and my current one if by far my favorite, fits a lot of food and cooks amazingly well: Chefman Large Air Fryer Max XL 8 Qt

We have a Chefman 8qt. Did not buy from Costco. Skeptical on longevity but it works great, and so much better than our (real) old Nuwave. We avoided one with a window as well... No real reason just seems like something that is not necessary that could cause a problem. Ours says it's dishwasher safe. I would not participate in that. Just use liners and hand wash.

I don’t think there is such a thing as a BIFL electronic especially something that is cooking related. But the one that gets mentioned here a lot is the Cuisinart air fryer toaster oven. I was going to buy one a while back but then Costco had a Chefman brand for half the price that looked pretty identical (and I like Costco).  Anyways the basket is a stainless steel mesh and there is no plastic anywhere on either of them. I’m happy with what I got.

Y'all are making me question my feelings...I actually don't like my air fryer... ☹️ To be fair, I did not choose the air fryer I have so it's possible I would enjoy it more if I picked the model. I have never liked cooking and tend to avoid it. It's just such a hassle! Why am I taking time to prep food and make a mess just to feed myself? Anyway, my husband gave me the air fryer since I had expressed interest in using one (for the record, he usually cooks). I've used it about 5 times in the years since. To me, the basket is clunky. It's kinda heavy and messy; that's even with using parchment paper/covers. There are always little bits leftover. Frankly, I find it easier to use my regular oven to make things. It takes almost as long and the sheet pan with parchment paper is easier to clean for me. Don't get me wrong, I definitely need to clean the oven out but I'm using my microwave plenty so I'm sure it's fine... I'm perfectly happy with how everything tastes too. I don't know; maybe I'm doing it wrong because, even following directions, my food is not crispy coming out of the air fryer (it's often dry though). When it comes to timing, I just tell my Alexa how long to see a timer for and since I have multiple Echo devices, I don't miss the timer going off. Possibly because I'm typically using one appliance at a time, it's easy enough for me to turn off my oven as soon as it's done. It's like turning off my video game systems when I'm finished gaming: I switch the setting from "bake" to "off", then the temp to "off" just like closing the software before putting the system to sleep. As a side note, my oven is old and has knobs, not buttons. For reference, my Air Fryer is a Chefman Turbo Fry. *Edited to add extra info after reading other posts.
