Have you been a toaster-oven user? We were for years and I got the oven-style air fryer. Love it. I think the “traditional” air fryer might give a slightly better crispy finish and be a little easier to shake/flip. But…we make a lot of toasted sandwiches and I can legit bake stuff in it. I got an all stainless steel Cuisinart (I personally question superheating nonstick and plastics). I honestly can’t recommend it. The electronics on two separate models have gone haywire and still work, but it’s like a roulette wheel which function you’ll get. And I gifted mother and mil with one and both of them went haywire as well, so it wasn’t a one-off. Good warranty though. But there are plenty of oven-style air fryers out there and they may feel more comfortable to use. Try a grilled cheese!

It’s not cheap, but I would spend the money to get a Cuisinart air fryer/oven combo. I have a larger combo microwave/oven that I almost never use, but we use the air fryer every day (toast, pizzas, roasting veggies, cooking proteins, etc). It came with a small baking stone and a couple of small pans. It’s not super tall, so breads or cakes can be a little tricky, but it’s fantastic.

Here's a great tip. All cuisineart products are Teflon free. Their air fryer combo oven is an godsend and I cannot recommend it enough.
