I have this Cuisinart. I had another one almost identical before hand. There is no plastic or anything toxic on it. And I bought it because of that. Cuisinart Compact Air Fryer Toaster Oven, Stainless Steel Fryer with 6-in-1 Functions, Adjustable Temperature, Includes Oven Rack, Baking Pan and Air Fry Basket, TOA-26 https://a.co/d/fg48QW3
I hate cooking with big ass regular ovens, and cooking at home reduces microplastic intake, so I'm in desperate need of one. I see the Ninja 10-in-1 recommended a lot, but isn't there plastic capping the ends of those quartz rods on the interior bottom? If anyone could let me know what material that is that'd be great. I see the plastic(?)-capped quartz rods on lots of the most recommended air fryers. Lots of the most recommended non-toxic air fryers either have those rods or a stupid lightbulb that is covered by plastic. The only truly plastic free one I've personally seen (I always check them out in person) is the Cuisinart Compact Air Fryer Toaster. Please help.
I put off getting an air fryer for so long because I have limited counter and storage space. So I tried to get one that could multitask and replace my toaster too. So far it's ok, but toasting in it takes a lot longer. Frozen things like waffles come out a little soggy on toaster setting, so I have to flip them and air fry for a bit to get them to crisp up. Air fryer mode is pretty decent so far, I was amazed when I put a frozen solid breaded chicken patty in there, and it came out restaurant crispy. I feel awkward opening it up and flipping since I must be careful not to burn myself. I got the Cuisinart compact model. I dislike that it doesn't have a timer, and the toaster makes a really annoying clicking sound.
Have you been a toaster-oven user? We were for years and I got the oven-style air fryer. Love it. I think the “traditional” air fryer might give a slightly better crispy finish and be a little easier to shake/flip. But…we make a lot of toasted sandwiches and I can legit bake stuff in it. I got an all stainless steel Cuisinart (I personally question superheating nonstick and plastics). I honestly can’t recommend it. The electronics on two separate models have gone haywire and still work, but it’s like a roulette wheel which function you’ll get. And I gifted mother and mil with one and both of them went haywire as well, so it wasn’t a one-off. Good warranty though. But there are plenty of oven-style air fryers out there and they may feel more comfortable to use. Try a grilled cheese!
I have only had it for a year so I cant say much about the longevity, but I have the stainless steel cusineart 1800w air fryer from Target. At the time it was on sale $99, a lot cheaper than similar ones from other brands. Seems like a decent device to me.
There’s air fryers shaped like mini ovens with multiple functions like toast, bake, air fry. I have a Cuisinart one that’s really good
Love my cuisinart air fryer combo. I use it daily. Something’s have to be reheated in a microwave but I definitely prefer the experience from an air fryer
I have a Cuisinart combo. It is a toaster oven and air fryer
We got the Cuisinart toaster oven with two different speeds of convection that was wirecutter’s number one recommended air fryer for the longest time (yes, a toaster oven was also the number one recommended air fryer). We use it all the time, from air frying to frozen pizza baking to toasting hamburger buns to microwave baking big frozen casseroles. 90% of what I use my old oven for now is just as a holding warmer. I’m not experienced with the basket kind of air fryer. We used one at an Airbnb and it was a pain in the butt to clean. No Thanks.
I had a Cuisinart and I just replaced it with a Breville. I had trouble with the Cuisinart's control dials.
