what types of foods do you find the basket to excel at? i have a [Cuisinart CT0A122](https://www.target.com/p/cuisinart-air-fryer-toaster-oven-stainless-steel-ctoa-122/-/A-88956563) as well and really love it. do not "fry" much in it beyond frozen french fries and chicken tenders (both come out well).

Forgot about wings. Yes they do come out well on air fry in the cusinart. Interesting you mention steak - I have been trying to improve my steaks. I was quite happy with the cusinart air fry until I had to do a cast iron and 500F oven and realized how it did not stack up. I will have to investigate this further. Do you have any suspicion about what in the air fryer is better for those uses?

I have a Cuisinart, which I love. It has toaster, bake, broil, convection and air fryer modes. It's generally been a champ. I'm not sure which model, but it has analog knobs rather than electronic controls, and I love that.

I have that lid, too, but it’s bulky and I rarely use it because the “air fryer”basket is so small. It’s great for roasting frozen chicken if you just want one or two pieces and haven’t had time to defrost. I much prefer my Cuisinart “toaster oven broiler” with convection. Add a basket and it’s sort of an air fryer, too, but it can accommodate a much larger 13” pan, a quarter baking sheet, etc.

We have a Cuisinart toaster oven with convection/air fryer capability—it’s terrific (and we also use it as our plain old toaster). We also had to choose between it and the microwave, and only very rarely do I wish we had a microwave.

It’s not cheap, but I would spend the money to get a Cuisinart air fryer/oven combo. I have a larger combo microwave/oven that I almost never use, but we use the air fryer every day (toast, pizzas, roasting veggies, cooking proteins, etc). It came with a small baking stone and a couple of small pans. It’s not super tall, so breads or cakes can be a little tricky, but it’s fantastic.

I have only had it for a year so I cant say much about the longevity, but I have the stainless steel cusineart 1800w air fryer from Target. At the time it was on sale $99, a lot cheaper than similar ones from other brands. Seems like a decent device to me.

We got the Cuisinart toaster oven with two different speeds of convection that was wirecutter’s number one recommended air fryer for the longest time (yes, a toaster oven was also the number one recommended air fryer). We use it all the time, from air frying to frozen pizza baking to toasting hamburger buns to microwave baking big frozen casseroles. 90% of what I use my old oven for now is just as a holding warmer. I’m not experienced with the basket kind of air fryer. We used one at an Airbnb and it was a pain in the butt to clean. No Thanks.
