I had not one but TWO Cuisinart air fryers, although they were a slightly different more digital model, like [this](https://www.cuisinart.com/large-air-fryer-toaster-oven/TOA-95NAS.html). Both wound up dying completely out of nowhere and cuisinart only replaced the first one because I was out of warranty by the second. I was pretty pissed and it seemed so wasteful to have 2 die in a 3 year period. I’m convinced it’s just a faulty product. Also, it was just okay while using the air fry function, often burning things. It’s not technically a proper air fryer a la the ones with a little tight drawer. Would not recommend cuisinart for an air fryer, after my experience!
I have that lid, too, but it’s bulky and I rarely use it because the “air fryer”basket is so small. It’s great for roasting frozen chicken if you just want one or two pieces and haven’t had time to defrost. I much prefer my Cuisinart “toaster oven broiler” with convection. Add a basket and it’s sort of an air fryer, too, but it can accommodate a much larger 13” pan, a quarter baking sheet, etc.
It’s not cheap, but I would spend the money to get a Cuisinart air fryer/oven combo. I have a larger combo microwave/oven that I almost never use, but we use the air fryer every day (toast, pizzas, roasting veggies, cooking proteins, etc). It came with a small baking stone and a couple of small pans. It’s not super tall, so breads or cakes can be a little tricky, but it’s fantastic.
Cuisinart makes a stainless steel air fryer with convection and toaster oven combo. I won’t use anything else! It’s great.
I have a different but similar Cuisinart air fryer/oven, and I love it. I think I use it more than the microwave most days. My only gripe with it is that the knob on my model (it only has one) is wonky, and sometimes you turn it up and the numbers go down, or vice versa. It needs to be turned with just the right amount of pressure to get the knob to work right. Also, I cook 90% of food at 375 degrees regardless of the package directions. If I go higher than that, stuff starts to burn or not cook evenly.
Here's a great tip. All cuisineart products are Teflon free. Their air fryer combo oven is an godsend and I cannot recommend it enough.
I have a version of this, too. We moved in October of last year & have never used our oven - we use the air fryer for everything - it’s just my husband and I so we find it much easier & cheaper than using the oven. And ditto for the cleaning. 🤪
The reviews I have seen say the Breville is a very good appliance but only a midling air fryer. Honestly all of the toaster over air fryers are not as good as the best basket models. Given that those are also cheaper, if you really want to see what an air fryer can do I would keep your Breville and just get one of those. I had the Cuisinart toaster over/air fryer as my start. It was good but I eventually replaced it with a basket air fryer. They are much better, but I miss the convenience of the toaster over for everything else ... like toast, pizzas etc. If I had the counter space, I would have both
