The highest rated air fryer on Consumer Reports is also one of the cheapest: Dash Tasti-Crisp DCAF260. Price $59.99. I've had one for a couple of years. It's on the small side at 2.6 qt., which is fine for me. If you want a huge one, check out Tabitha Brown for Target at a whopping 8 qt. for $70. If you want a medium size one (4 qt.) there's currently a prime deal at half price for the Instant Vortex Plus 140 at $64.99, which is the third highest rated model.
I would not go too small- I started with a Dash 2.6qt and would definitely say go bigger than that. I’d say 6-8 should work well for you. Other than the size I was happy with the Dash - quick to use, not much noise, easy to set, and I bought a couple of silicone basket liners for when I was making gooey or saucy foods.
A Dash Tasti-Crisp might work. One knob for temp, one for time, that’s it. There’s a 2.6 and a 6qt.
I have a dash tasti-crisp 2.6qt and it’s great.
