I'm very late to this but just incase anyone is also considering this air fryer: It is chemical-free in all sense of the word. The Ninja and other similar non-stick air fryers are fine under 260 degrees however you are likely using metal utensils to get your food out of the hot crisper trays and this absolutely will scratch the surface and inevitably leach chemicals into your food. Also keep in mind the Ninja crisper trays are like 44 NZD and usually out of stock. Faster isn't necessarily better. This Bistro bad boy will cook things slower because it uses a lower wattage, however your food is going to come out much better. This isn't a microwave, it's a glorified oven. You do not actually want to speed-cook any food. The Maillard reaction exists for a reason. The perk of an airfryer is to: Not have to bend over to use your oven, never have to clean your oven or use your oven. Ovens are kinda crap, if your oven is not crap, then you should use that and not an air fryer. This Bistro air fryer's only downside is that you need to hand wash it instead of dishwash because it doesn't have those cancer-causing chemicals to protect it. It is still non-stick though and much more durable.
r/airfryer • Thoughts on this GreenPan air fryer? ->Denmark based bird owner. All my cookware and air fryer are Greenpan. Barcelona for the pots and pans. Greenpan Bistro double for the air fryer. They were all expensive but they are bird safe and that they are good quality is a bonus.
r/parrots • PSA For anyone thinking about getting a ninja air fryer. ->I use the brand Greenpan for all of my pan and airfryer needs. They are PFOA-free and the best purchase of last year (except for the birds, of course).
r/parrots • Bird safe air fryer? ->We use this one, but I'm not sure if it's available in the UK (I bought mine locally in Denmark). But the Greenpan range is PFAS, PTFE and PFOA free and I've used the air fryer and pans from the Greenpan range for over a year now without any adverse effects showing in the birds. r/parrots • Is there any air fryers that genuinely do not contain Teflon??? ->Have used for 2 months and found a BIG problem. I put a 1 1/2 quart casserole dish 3/4 full of food onto rack as I have done for years with my old toaster oven. The rack bowed under the weight enough that the sides slipped out of the wall grooves and the entire thing collapsed down onto the bottom heating elements. That is NOT acceptable and means one can only bake light weight items. Very disappointed. After this experience I wouldn't consider their higher end models, either.
