I have an Instant Pot Duo Crisp, which is technically both (and then some), but not the best rice cooker OR the best air fryer either - as in, does the job but could be better. But i like the pressure cooker part - quickest way to make beans, stews, soup (i often make bone broth, it's done in 4 hrs instead of 12), etc. However, there are apparently problems with the brand, so it's not a recommendation. But if you're interested in checking it out, Ninja has the Foodi multicookers, it's similar.
r/cookingforbeginners • Recommend me a rice cooker and air fryer ->I was going to get a Ninja, but realized at the last moment that the open lid wouldn’t fit on our counter top, so I went with the Duo Crisp instead. I don’t Air Fry much, but when I do I often end up using some of the custom inserts (racks, silicone trays) that you can buy anywhere these days - whatever seems to work best for what I’m making.
r/instantpot • Which pressure cooker + air fryer combo should I get? ->I dont know this specific brand but oven airfryers are alright. If you need it because of space it’s fine. The main issue with specifically airfrying is that theres a TON of extra air space then a normal airfryer. So it takes longer and doesnt cook as evenly. I love my instant pot duo air fryer, I would suggest that instead. They make an oven type airfyer though. But i have one of these types at work and it’s pretty nice for reheating food.
r/airfryer • Anyone here actually tried tjean multifunctional oven and is it good?? ->May I ask a question as you seem knowledgable. What is your view of my airfryer, the Instapot Duo Crisp (it is also a pressure cooker amoung other things) ? I don't know whether I simply need to get more use to it or it is not great. Thank you.
r/airfryer • Air fryer toaster oven recommendations! ->Thanks for the detailed reply. Yes there is airflow, the biggest downside imo is that removal of the partition between to food (the partition is so you have 2 baskets) is messy, it's not a simple thing. It also burns food whenever I have used it as a pressure cooker (no matter how much liquid in the food). Maybe I am just unskilled, idk, but it seems there are better options for airfryers now, and Crimbo is coming so...
r/airfryer • Air fryer toaster oven recommendations! ->I have the duo crisp (actually got two of them for 75% off when a store was going out of business) They kind of suck as an air fryer and I never use it that way. They work amazingly well as a pressure cooker, a stew pot, and a Sous Vide cooker however. But I would never recommend it as an airfryer
r/airfryer • Air fryer toaster oven recommendations! ->Instant pot + airfry combo. Been solid. Two+ different types of cooking. One device.
r/BuyItForLife • The Best Airfryer to Buy Right Now? ->You could get a very fancy rice cooker for several hundred. Goodwill is full of basic ones that just click on. I've cooked curry in these ones. It shuts off automatically. I'd recommend one of these and if you really want to invest in something better after using a goodwill one after awhile you. For more rice cooker recipes there's a reddit community too. For an airfryer I like the Instant brand. I think mine is 6 quart and I can get a pound of chicken in there. I love it and cook a lot in it. It doesn't heat my house up the way the oven does.
