I have the Ninja DCT401 12-in-1 Double Oven and use it frequently. It does have two sections but they do different things. I rarely use both at the same time; usually I’m either baking on the top or air frying on the bottom.
I have the double stack. Just know if will take longer than a single air fryer. You loose some of the perk of using an air fryer The baskets are I guess okay to clean. Its quite loud. It's very big. I probably would get a cheaper single basket and maybe another second one I could store in a cabinet until needed if I were going to do it again
They don’t have anymore, so glad I got it when they did, I don’t even use my oven anymore
Ninja Double Oven. It has vents on the side of the unit instead of the top and fits comfortably on my countertop under my upper cabinets
Is yours a basket within a basket? Most airfryers now are one basket and flat 'insert' with holes in. The air flows through and around the insert so no grooves needed. If I was buying again I would probably want the best one there is as we use it so often. For me it would likely be a Cosori dual basket with ceramic inserts. My current one is a Ninja dual basket, the one with thermometer, and although the non stick is at best 'reasonable', it is very easy to clean and performs great.
I have the Stacker Ninja. Drawers & Crisper Plates are Ceramic Coated. My first Airfryer. This model because it fits a smaller space. I find it is perfect. It does not cook uneven as some have mentioned. You just have to make sure you are neither blocking any of the Vent Holes at the Drawer backs. Nor the 2 small cut out bits at 2 of the Crisper Plate’s edges. Their position changes depending upon if the Crisper Plates are in the Upper or Lower position. I put long foods like Fish Fillets in diagonally rather than straight. Then it’s not blocking any Drawer back Vents. Comes with a great Recipe Book & a really good Instructions Book. It has removable Crisper Plates in each drawer. Comes with 2 gridded shelves. Clever designed to easy lift out. These are useful to cook 4 different food types at same time. Under the grid shelf & above the shelf. These shelves stack together easy for storage. Also great then for resting the hot Drawer upon when checking food or turning food during cooking times. Alway use the Drawers with Crisper Plates. Love the Sync Mode. Where foods that need different cooking times/temperatures all finish cooking at same moment. It is not only an Airfryer. Has different cooking modes. The mistake I made when new was using silicone trays. Thought they save effort on cleaning. Chicken bone in & skin on thighs raw near the bone after recommended cooking time. Took lots of putting back & more cooking. Think eventually it nearer an hour to cook instead of 20 minutes. After a few days of such disasters. I realised it’s due to the silicone trays blocking the back Vent holes at the drawer backs. Also blocking air that should come up through the Crisper Plates. Same would have occurred with Parchment Liners. I did try collapsing the Silicone Trays. But they rose up during cooking, so still blocking the air Vents on the Drawers backs. I gave away the Silicone Trays. Since using the Stacker Ninja as recommended, it cooks perfectly. Also I learned to buy skinless & boneless Chicken thighs. As they cook quicker & have less fat to mess up the Airfryer. If you have room for a Ninja side by side I see no reason to not get that type. My choice based on space.
I have a different ninja with a built in thermometer and I'd recommend a separate one anyway. It's not that accurate
I actually just got a separate thermometer so I'm not sure yet but the separate one actually tells you the temperature. The ninja one you just set it to rare, medium, ect and I find it over cooks. I'd rather just see the actual temperature.
Air fryer was my introduction to teaching myself how to cook. Started off with simple recipes and later progressed to recipes with more components. Do you -need- an air fryer? No, but I definitely prefer using the air fryer over the microwave for heating up certain foods. I've used the air fryer to warm up pretzels, pizza, baked items, etc. But if you are going to pick up an air fryer, pick up the one with the bigger tray. I got the Ninja air fryer with the thermometer attachment. This lets me get food to a specific temperature. Was great when I didn't know what the heck I was doing. I'd put the thermometer into chicken, porkchops, steaks, etc. Then as I became more comfortable I needed the thermometer less and less. So, yeah, I think it's a good investment.
