I got a Ninja 11 in 1. Itās does a bunch of stuff including air frying, pressure, cooking, slow cooking etc in general itās great and I get good results with it but itās huge. Iād definitely look at something like this if I were you and youāre open to getting rid of some kitchen gadgets to combine into one. That being said I use the pressure cooker and slow cooker bits a bunch and only dabble in air frying as an alternative to deep frying and for speeding up roasting things. Most common things in the air fryer are, home made fries, wings, quick roast potatoes, home made chicken tenders and breaded fish fillets I should really expand the repertoire here but itās quick and to some extent fire and forget for these basics
So I went with a Hybrid Nija Space Saver Air Fryer, because it's the best of both worlds. It toasts and bakes, but also Air Fryers and will accommodate a 12" pizza. We carry camping with us when we stay at the KOA and it's amazing.
I have the Foodi, the one that doesn't need a separate lid. I've had it for around 3 years I think. It's a big chonky machine, but I love it and recommend it to everyone. I use it more than the hob at this point! The modes I use the most are air frying, pressure cooking, sear/saute and bake. The stream to air fry mode is also great for making a whole chicken! My boyfriend has been using it when at my place and likes it so much he's going to replace the Instant Pot he has at his place with a Foodi because he wants an air fryer and it's much nicer to have it all in one. The one downside it has compared to a normal air fryer is that the basket is not very big, and it's also quite noisy compared to dedicated air fryers. Personally, the trade off is worth it for me. Happy to answer any more specific questions!
My foodi tendercrisp is 8 years old and I use it several times a week as more than just an air fryer. Convection ovens with air fry modes are very lackluster.
Youāre relative sounds like a tool. Itās a nice product, but itās very weird and rude to me, for someone to just buy an appliance for your home. Itās expensive enough that you feel obligated to keep it, but many people donāt have room for that type of thing. Itās just weird, like someone coming into your house and just hanging a large picture on your wall. As for the appliance itself, it can be useful. Itās not a fryer. Itās a high powered convection oven. It does a very good job of oven things, but faster. Itās a decent replacement for a toaster oven, if itās shaped that way. We have a ninja foodi with a pressure cooker attachment. Itās good, but we probably under utilize it. Itās also a little small. So itās sometimes awkward to get everything in. You arenāt cooking for a crowd with then either. Itās good for a couple of people, though. It does a great job in reheating things that donāt typically reheat well. Pizza, fried foods, etc.
Yes and no. Itās basically a tiny convection oven. It isnāt gonna be close to as good as fried. Reheating things, it does great. I think it actually does the second or third best hotdog outside of charcoal grilling and does it fast. Itāll get crispy and charred. Ours is a ninja foodie, which doubles as a pressure cooker. Iāve done small bone in hams. 3min a pound after it comes to pressure, then switch to the air fryer lid and toss on a glaze. Comes out great. Size is a concern for things like that. Some people actually take the bowl to the store, so I hear. If youāre gonna get one, pick one with multiple functions and make sure itās something youāll actually use semi-regular.
Ninja foodi, air fryer, toaster over all in one. We use this almost every day at home. Works great in the camper too.
I got the ninja foodi pressure cooker and air fryer combo a few years ago and it quickly became the most used appliance in the house. I initially had thought that it too was a glorified convection oven but got it anyway because I was looking for a pressure cooker. The key difference is that it can really get the air moving, eliminating steam pockets that prevent crisping. It only takes 2 minutes to preheat. And since it doubles as a pot, it also does stews. The big hack for me is that I can cook and brown a large batch of minced meat on both sides by first frying the bottom with the saute mode till I get browning, then following it up with 5 mins of air frying to brown the top. all in the same pot.
We have a Ninja Foodi combo air fryer/pressure cooker and it is incredibly versatile. From the best reheated French fries to a rack of ribs in one hour, the appliance is easy to use and has almost daily use. I bought liners on Amazon to reduce the amount of cleaning needed when used for simple air fryer functions. Like others have said, I don't have to use the oven on these hot summer days. I've been looking into replacing our microwave with one that has air fryer functions built in
