Yeah, a 5-quart Ninja sounds totally reasonable for what you described 👍 If you’re usually cooking stuff like 4 pieces of chicken, veggies on the side, or meals for two, that size is kind of the sweet spot. You get enough surface area so food isn’t stacked on top of each other (which matters more than total volume), but it’s not massive or annoying to store. If you were meal-prepping or cooking for 4+ people regularly, I’d say go bigger, but for a couple with normal portions, 5 qt is more than fine. That said, before you pull the trigger, you might want to compare it with a couple of other popular options. I’ve written reviews on: • [Cosori TurboBlaze](https://sharkfryer.com/air-fryer-reviews/cosori-turboblaze-air-fryer/) – really fast, strong airflow, great if you like crispy results • [Philips 2000 Series](https://sharkfryer.com/air-fryer-reviews/philips-2000-series-review/) – very consistent cooking and solid build quality Different air fryers handle airflow and basket shape differently, and that can matter just as much as size. The Ninja is a solid pick, but it’s worth a quick comparison so you don’t end up wishing you’d gone another route later.
Honestly same. I grabbed a 6qt thinking “big win for parties”, and yeah sometimes it’s great for family size batches — wings, veggies, desserts, all that — but preheat feels longer and the bottom layer of fries gets just slightly soggy unless I shake constantly. Sweet things like cookies and mini donuts still crush it in mine tho, so it’s not a total loss. If I could go back, I’d probably snag something slightly smaller / quicker to fire up when it’s just snack o’clock. Stuff like the [Philips 2000 Series Airfryer](https://sharkfryer.com/air-fryer-reviews/philips-2000-series-review/) hits that sweet spot — compact but still big enough for decent portions, and just way easier for one-off snacks without the long warm-up
I use Glen's chimney too and so far no problems from it. Though definitely get the overhead one and not the slanted one. Slanted ones are basically for looks and ductless ones too are not for Indian homes. I use Philips One Chef which is air fryer + induction cooking pot, it hasn't been long since I'm using it but still working without any hitch.
I’m using similar model (but with the little window) for a year, and it’s still pretty good.
hi one year after purchasing, I’m cleaning it gently with kitchen metal scraper, and it’s still as new
I have extensively used a Nuuk. Very nicely made. More premium than the Philips NA221 at that price. The ratings are excellent as well. Note that it uses a 16A power plug vs others that may not. - All the features like Shake Alarm are thoughtful - The touch response of the controls is excellent - The device is nicely air sealed so it crisps really well (right up there with or maybe bit better than Philips. The base plate has a similar design as Philips to maximize air circulation). - Fries consistently have an audible crunch vs cheaper products. The inner and exterior texture of any food like poppers or fries is excellent. Phillips NA221 may be as good but this has been excellent and worth the step up from cheaper ones. - The crisper plate is nicely designed and easy to clean so the ceramic coating should last long enough.
Lol. That's really respectful. Anyhow. FYI you're in the minority. I run a whatsapp geeks group of 865 folks across IIT and IIM. Dozens of us who are fans of the brand there and hold similar opinions. Across a variety of products. Not denying amazon reviews just sharing my POV. Maybe I'm in the honeymoon period but honestly, how can you trash my lived (early) first hand experience basis some amazon reviews? Both instances can Co exist? Some got lemons some didn't.
Mukhang heto na yung sign na I'll go for the Philips digital 🫣😆
Hi all!!! Thanks so much for your suggestions and for sharing your reviews ☺️ Really appreciate it! I decided to go for Philips since most of you recommended it, and sakto naka-payday/flash sale sila today!!! I got the 4.2L digital for just 3.6k 🫣 I’ll share my review once I receive it. Thanks again! Mwa mwaaaa
