Do you miss the height at all? Not that I usually cook a whole chicken in an air fryer since I like my large oven method very much. But I keep thinking “What if I want to?” I like the Typhur products a lot and the Dome seems so tempting. Currently I have a Philips XL and XXL after trying lots of cheaper ones and disliking them.

I have the Breville Joule air fryer and it’s great and big enough to handle whatever I want to air fry or roast for that matter. But the air fryer that I used to have is a Phillips and it was just for air frying and I loved that it was an XXL. It was absolutely the best.

I have a Philips XXL I bought in 2019 and I love it. Most things I don’t even have to flip over while cooking. The best part is it has analog controls … one dial to set the temp, and one dial to turn it on. I’ve had a few digital air fryers in the past and I found it so annoying fiddling with the controls to do such a basic thing.

Yes, Phillips XXL, chicken breast pieces tossed / rubbed with salt, pepper and some random herb from the spice rack - 7 mins 180, chefs kiss

Ultimate fix IMO is the mesh base and votrex bottom of the Philips Airfryer XXL range of similar. I have 4 airfryers, I know, but its hands down the best. It gets the air perfect. You mention also 1 shake, I would strongly suggest 4 good solid shakes, with the aim to lift the fries at the bottom to the top, so a shake and mini flip at the same time. Apart from that l, always use oil (olive oil works well for me) and time, 160C at say 12 mins, then ramp up to 180C for 8. Don't forget to parboil before hand and dry off using the Airfryer itself for 4 to 5 mins before all the cooking phase.

But is that for a 6” pizza or a 12” pizza? I have an XXL Philips airfryer, and only a personal pizza will fit without cutting the pizza to fit. My Breville Smart Oven Air Fryer Pro has become my 12” pizza oven.

I’ve been using the Philips air fryer max for 4 years now without an issue

Very pleased with Philips XXL. Use it about 10 times more than the big oven (that is used for more than 1-2 people or lots of oven dishes) - the pizza insert is perfect and makes great pizzas in under 8 minutes! The oven will do it in 20-22 with 10 minutes warm-up, do a worse job (more dry than crisp) and using 4000w in half af hour.. Very good for all "small" things!
