Don't buy fancy microwaves with grill and convection features. If you want to do proper baking, get a good oven. Instead buy a solo microwave (powerful >= 2000W). If you want to heat up your entire plate, buy one which can fit the plate. Same applies for Airfryer, buy powerful machines with higher watts. Size it accordingly to your needs. Standalone oven/convection microwave can never beat an Airfryer when it comes to fries, chicken fry, chicken tikka masala/garlic coated or roasting stuffs. Also get one with basic controls (avoid touch/lcd panel) - high heat will lead to short life of complicated PCBs. I still own a PHILIPS 4L HD9220/20 **AirFryer** (purchased about ~13 years ago) - runs daily. It was one of the 1st air fryers launched in India. Most phillips products nowadays have poor build quality - mostly chinese or shared chinese parts. Philips used to be my go-to brand before 2017 - especially for home appliances.

I still own a PHILIPS 4L HD9220/20 **AirFryer** (purchased about ~13 years ago) - runs daily - atleast for 20 min. It was one of the 1st air fryers launched in India. It just won't die. Timer has become a little wonky (spring based). We had no option to get ceramic, stainless steel or glass airfryer back then. Most phillips products nowadays have poor build quality - mostly chinese or shared chinese parts. Philips used to be my go-to brand before 2017 - especially for home appliances. Maybe their air fryers are still built to last - I have no idea. Good luck. Do let us know about your purchase and experience.

Any with high wattage, good size for your usage and manual controls. Avoid ones with fancy touch screens and PCBs. This may be an outlier, but my Airfryer (Phillips HD9220/20) has been running almost 5-6 days a week for the last 9.5 years (perfect fit for r/Frugal_Ind). It's basket along with the tray has seen a drop from the height of 1m, the plastic has chipped a little from the corners but it still runs flawlessly. We are waiting for it to die to upgrade to a slightly bigger size. My old and trusted airfryer can accommodate 4-5 chicken legs or 4 big thigh pieces at once. You can stuff more but you won't get good results. Also make sure it is dishwasher friendly. I've been using it in the dishwasher without issues. The design could be improved as a little water gets collected on the bottom of the basket in the dishwasher. NOTE: The quality of Philips products might have changed over the years. DYOR.

Not sure. Never calculated. In terms of durability and repairability, it gets 10/10.

Been using Philips Gen 1 air fryer till today, using it at least once per week. No joke quality.

I have a Philips airfryer from 2014 which we use practically everyday. It's been working well and I have no complaints.

It's the one shown at this link but this model is probably not available anymore. https://www.saffrontrail.com/my-review-of-philips-air-fryer-and-recipe-for-onion-pakoda/

I have a Viva. It has been a great workhorse. It's very mechanically simple, just a timer dial and a temp dial. I would not spend money for an LCD screen that sits next to a 390F basket and expect it to live a long time.

I’ve been researching for weeks and now I’m more confused than before because reviews everywhere are mixed. So I’d really appreciate genuine long-term user opinions. Current situation: Mom currently uses an old Meenakshi & Meenakshi gas stove which lasted 10+ years with only burner issues recently. Kitchen has enough space. One side slab is mostly free. I care a lot about looks/aesthetics because I’m planning to do a proper modern kitchen setup with chimney and premium-looking stove. But I also don’t want maintenance headaches after 1-2 years. \_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_ # Gas Stove Questions: Mom prefers 3 burner because she’s used to it, but honestly some 4-burner models look amazing. Is 4 burner actually practical in daily Indian cooking or does it become annoying/cramped? Should I go for auto ignition or manual ignition for long-term reliability? Are premium models actually worth it? Is paying ₹8k–₹12k for Prestige/Faber/Glen/Elica worth it over Butterfly/Pigeon/Lifelong etc? Which brands genuinely age well without rusting, knob issues, burner problems, glass issues etc? I’m more interested in: premium finish spacious layout strong burners long-term reliability premium/modular kitchen aesthetics \_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_ # Chimney Questions: I’m even more confused here. Brands I’m considering: Faber Glen Elica I understand suction capacity matters a lot. Since I’ll probably go with a 3 burner stove: should I buy 60 cm chimney or directly 90 cm? Is 90 cm overkill for 3 burner or does it improve smoke capture significantly? Also: Are BLDC motor chimneys genuinely worth it? Which brand has best long-term service/support experience? I’ve noticed Elica models on Amazon are much cheaper than some Glen/Faber models. Is that because of quality difference or just pricing strategy? \_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_ # Air Fryer Questions: Currently I personally use Philips HD series 4.1L for around 2 years and I’m mostly satisfied with the taste and cooking quality. Now I want to buy a larger one for parents’ home because my father loves fried foods and I want him to reduce oil usage. Confused between: paying premium for Philips 6.2L/large models OR buying bigger 10L–12L models from other brands. Questions: Is Philips really superior in taste/performance? Or are newer brands giving similar results now? Any trustworthy long-term brands for larger air fryers? Main priority: I don’t want to regret this purchase after 1 year because this is a proper gift for my mom’s kitchen and I want it to feel premium and reliable. Would really appreciate honest suggestions from long-term users instead of sponsored YouTube reviews. Thanks a lot.

Thanks for sharing OP, you provided a good overview of options. I personally have a philips 4.5L with the normal teflon coating, but it is indeed wearing a bit, despite having never used scratch sponges. I went with philips hoping that i could get replaceable baskets or good suppliers or something. So I'll try do that and if it works, that will be my strategy.

This. I specifically wanted an analogue dial as temp and time is all there is to an airfryer. My only issue with it is the timer is too hard to cancel, ie wind back that I just let it run out. Else it just works.
