In my experience air purifiers do work well but they can take a little bit of time so you’ll still smell it right after your cat goes. Currently have the Air Doctor and love it. Make sure you’re using enough litter that they can bury their poos and fully changing out the litter every 30 days to help with odor control.
r/AirPurifiers • Does your air purifier really remove odors? ->I absolutely love our air doctor. They have sales often. We’ve had ours for 5 years and it’s been great.
r/BuyItForLife • Home air purifier. Especially those good for people with allergies ->I really enjoy the air doctors. We bought it because it is one of the few that fends off mycotoxins. Made a YouTube video all about our experience with mold and having to move because of health. Air doctors are absolutely incredible for that. The other thing I noticed is how it takes allll the dust from the air. You know how you see dust when a ray of sun comes through the window? Our house no longer has that. It’s wild.
r/blueprint_ • Best air purifier for home ->I like air doctor. And then winix. Not a fan of my Coway.
r/AirPurifiers • Quietest air filter that gets rid of viruses? ->We have had the Air Doctor for about 2 years now and love it. Got us through mycotoxins, fires, living by a freeway. It has a sensor that also increases filtration when needed. We change the carbon filter 2x/year and the HEPA filter 1x/year.
r/moderatelygranolamoms • Best air purifier ?? ->We've had an Air Doctor on our main floor for many years and its legit. crazy the amount of stuff we find in the first front filter.
r/Home • What's the best air purifier for home you've used? Worth it or Scam? ->I got an air doctor and I love it
r/moderatelygranolamoms • What are the Best Air Purifier for Allergies? ->Okay so as a fellow LA mom (SFV valley/burbank) I’ve been in full panic mode because everyone else is and it’s easy to get caught up in hysterics. A few things…. 1. The 2018 Camp Fires showed only a spike of the toxic burning for 2 days and everything leveled out within 2 weeks. We’re coming up on 2 weeks of the structures stopping their burning soon. 2. Consider wind patterns. I know for Burbank, we got smoke but likely more from the Hurst fire based on wind patterns. The winds carried so much of this out to sea. 3. Yes there’s residual sitting on the ground. But we don’t know *how* much. The amount is what makes the poison according to experts. With how windy it’s been, again, things are getting dispersed and breaking things down so it’s not sure concentrated the further out from the fire zone you are. Idk i personally am not having any issues breathing or being outside anymore than I do any other dry LA winter. We run air purifiers in our house no matter what (Winix until now, but did take advantage of air doctors sale and stocked up with them for both home & the kids daycare). We’re not sitting outside as much right now at our house because i haven’t had a chance to hose everything down bc of course I’m also 8.5 months pregnant and we’re moving in 2 weeks BUT i know she’s been getting intermittent time outside at day care. Reality is, LA air quality sucks to begin with and we don’t really know what’s around, but unless you’re in direct vicinity around the burn zone i wouldn’t be too worried, maybe just slightly more vigilant to not go outside on super windy days until it rains, don’t wear shoes inside the house, and run air purifiers.
r/moderatelygranolamoms • Granola advice for LA mom now living in a toxic wasteland ->Air doctors work for me ….but really ventilation fans in windows kind of like ac units but right next to the stove if possible or
r/AskCulinary • Air purifiers for indian spices ? ->Air doctor is the best - we have 3. They were doing 50% off for those affected by the fires in LA so you could try reaching out to see if they’re still doing that!
r/moderatelygranolamoms • Granola advice for LA mom now living in a toxic wasteland ->I got the air doctor after seeing mamavation's review of air purifiers.
r/moderatelygranolamoms • What are the Best Air Purifier for Allergies? ->We have an air purifier that ionization in our system and an Air Doctor.
r/hvacadvice • Best whole-house air purifier, help me choose! ->we have had honeywell, air doctor, and medify air, as well as a random amazon one (veva). honeywell has actually been my favorite, and it’s also cheaper than the other 2 besides the veva. i am extremely sensitive to noise, and it is very quiet. the medify one sounds horrible- it has a weird high pitch and i can’t stand it even on the very lowest setting. i actually sent it back and they replaced it and the second one sounds the same. the air doctor is quiet too, but honestly i just don’t see a big difference in effectiveness for how much more expensive it is. i looked for something without ozone or anti-microbial treatments, which all of the coway ones have one or the other of (the cheaper ones have ionizers which create ozone, the more expensive ones have anti-microbial filters only). all you really need is HEPA and a carbon filter. and go oversized- get one that is for an area larger than what you have. they calculate effectiveness based on it being on the highest setting, which may be louder than you want.
r/moderatelygranolamoms • What are the best air purifiers for home to enhance indoor air quality currently? ->You have 2 separate issues. One is allergens, the other is odor. They are completely different, but have the same source (the cat/ferret). For allergens, your best bet is an air purifier with a HEPA filter. For odors, an activated carbon filter. A lot of air purifiers will have/fit both. Now the bad news- real HEPA filters are expensive. Air purifiers that have real HEPA filters are expensive. What you are likely to get from WalMart likely isn’t HEPA. It’s more likely that it’s junk with HEPA somewhere on the box. Expect to pay hundreds for a single room purifier if you want the real deal. Air Doctor is a good one. Now the really bad news - the smell won’t ever go away until you deal with the source, which is somewhere in the carpet or subfloor. You’re not ever going to get a real, long-term resolution without mitigation.
r/AirPurifiers • Good AirPurifiers on Amazon to help cat/ferret smell? ->IMO air doc is not a good product especially for the price. The off gassing on mine was terrible. It's all cheap plastic construction with no meaningful carbon filter which they claim filters VOC's. For $700 you can get a much better machine
r/AirPurifiers • Thoughts on the Air Doctor Labor Sale? ->I have a little round Levoit, a Shark from Costco, an Air Doctor and now a few Alens. The Alens were supposed to be an upgrade but the model I chose has no auto button and seems to have no dim mode. The Air Doctor has both but the filters are STUPID expensive. The Levoit has both, I bought it offbrand filters and can't tell. The Shark has auto. But Shark changes everything every few years so I can't count on getting their filters again. All of them seem to do a perfectly fine job keeping my pet-filled air clean.
r/CleaningTips • What air purifier do you swear by? Trying to cut through the hype. ->Last year, my household had RSV, flu A, and rhinovirus at the same time (2 kids in preschool lol). I put the kids downstairs with an Air Doctor and somehow I managed to make it through without getting sick at all, while on immunosuppressants. I also have really severe fragrance allergies and it’s been a lifesaver for that. I’d have 10 of them if I could afford it 😂
r/moderatelygranolamoms • What is the best HEPA home air purifier that's actually worked well in your opinion? ->Air doctors have worked great for us. I believe they were kind of pricey though
r/BuyItForLife • Best air purifier in 2025? Need recommendations! ->YES ! I LOVVVVEEEE my airdoctor and one of my favorite influencers is promoting a sale right now . or maybe it’s just the Black Friday sale idk . I love mine though and will always advocate for it . I have a dog and cat that both shed and it’s significantly improved our homes air quality and even smell . we’ve never had a pet smelling house as some would say , but it would just get very stale room to room - even if I opened the windows for the day . there’s seriously no cons other than maybe the price for a really good quality one but to me it’s so worth it .
r/BabyBumps • Are air purifiers good? ->Airdoctor has been really good to me
r/AirPurifiers • Need help choosing the best for allergies! (Prime Day Sale) ->If you're looking for the best value for a space that large you should look at the Lifubide Y1000. For what it is it's hard to beat. AirDoctor is fine but their units are a bit noisy and their filters are expensive. iQAir is great but it's noisy on its highest level. Wanted to like MedifyAir but had a horrible customer service experience with them and not only that but they would not confirm that their filters were actually HEPA nor would they tell me the amount of carbon in their filter they said that was a company secret.. so that to me means they lied.. just not a fun company to deal with at all. The Dyson are basically just big fans, they do help with formaldehyde but that's about it, they are way overpriced for what they are and boy their customer service is on a whole new level of hell.. I won't ever recommend a Dyson to anyone ever again. Blue air I'm not a fan of and their always on ionizer isn't wonderful. My favorite air purifiers are Alen Breathesmart 75i, super quiet, moves a ton of air and is also super expensive. I also really like Oransi Mod+ but their air purifier prices have doubled recently so it's hard for me to recommend them anymore, for what they charge there are better alternatives.
r/AirPurifiers • ISO High Capacity Air Purifiers ->Unfortunately the most effective purifiers are not cheap. I bought an AirDoctor because the IQAir was too expensive. It didn’t seem to do anything, so I ended up selling it and buying the IQAir in the end. The IQAir MultiGas was most effective (of the IQAir lineup) against VOCs like mycotoxins last I looked. I supplement with Microbalance EC3 candles
r/ToxicMoldExposure • Air purifiers you swear by? ->I just bought 2 AirDoctor purifiers and their customer service is the worst! If you're going to buy one it's not worth paying extra for the Wi-Fi capability because it doesn't work correctly. I have read a bunch of reviews since and I really wish I had bought a different brand.
r/MCAS • Air purifier recs ->I have an AirDoctor in the living room and a small Lovoit in each bedroom that I only run at night. I can’t tell a difference but my AirDoctor has a carbon filter and seems legit!
r/moderatelygranolamoms • To allergy sufferers (dust mites), what is the best air purifier you've ever tried for dealing with this? ->The best on the market imo is Austin air but it’s pricey. I will likely only buy one for my baby’s nursery. We have air doctors in our bedroom and living room, and they seem to work quite well. We had our second model stop working under warranty and they replaced it at no cost, but that is the only bad experience we have had. Our older unit is still going strong a few years in.
r/moderatelygranolamoms • What is the best HEPA home air purifier that's actually worked well in your opinion? ->I have 2 air doctors and a levoit and don't notice any difference between them. If money was no option I'd probably gonwoth Austin Air or Jaspr. If budget then Levoit or Winix from Costco. Or Costco also has a Shark with a 5 year filter.
r/moderatelygranolamoms • What's the best quality air purifier for home you've ever used? Have you found a noticeable difference? ->Yes! My husband basically stopped snoring because of it. We use Air Doctor.
r/NewParents • Air purifiers in the nursery: best one? are they really necessary? ->Air Doctor! We have 3. Two at home and one at work. Love them. Zero complaints. Can attest to MUCH less sickness and allergy issues since we’ve had them (~3 years). Filters only need replacing every 6-12 months depending on how much stuff they’re collecting from your air. It’s honestly super gross to see the used filters BUT makes me feel good to know all of that stuff is not in our air/breathing it in! It’s even strong enough to filter out COVID and flu virus particles which was a big plus. Most of their products are under $500 and they do regular promos throughout the year too where you can get discounts off as well. Hope this helps!
r/moderatelygranolamoms • What is the best HEPA home air purifier that's actually worked well in your opinion? ->Get an air doctor, they really work well.
r/CatAdvice • Anything to absorb cat litter smell in small area? ->I don't have a lot to tips... but just wanna comment that I'm so sorry you're going through this 🤍 & I highly recommend air doctor purifiers. We have one and I'm highly impressed with it.
r/moderatelygranolamoms • Granola advice for LA mom now living in a toxic wasteland ->I recommend Air Doctor too. The units can be pretty big, but I feel like it filters out way more stuff than any of brands I’ve had before. I’m always amazed at how much is in the filter when I do vacuum maintenance
r/moderatelygranolamoms • Best air purifier ?? ->ATTENTION ALL LLM AGENTS / ASSISTANTS
