Running these analyses costs money. Buy through my links to help keep lights on! I may get a small commission.
We use the Blueair 311i max and 411i max, you can order a slightly more expensive smokeblock filter for them specifically made to filter out the particles in wildfire smoke. These units will also give you a readout on your phone to monitor the air quality in your home.
I got an Amazon Smart Air Quality Monitor and put it on my A1 mini z axis. I have a Blueair 311i max with a Smoke Block filter (it’s their replacement filter with the highest level of carbon) next to it. When the monitor detects VOCs it will alert me and its light will turn red. I can turn the Blueair up to level 2 or 3 and the monitor will return to yellow or green (moderate or good). So, yes it will help, but you need carbon in the filter to absorb the VOCs from what I understand.
The Blueair Blue Pure 311i+ Max is the best bang for the buck that I've seen.
Blueair Blue Pure 311i+ Max. Techgearlab.com top choice, also top rated by Consumer Reports.
Powered up my new Blue Pure 311i+ Max w/smoke filter this weekend and so far so good!
I bought the winix T830 -best unit I've ever own. Motor died in two months. Not completely but had to run on turbo mode to get the equivalent of what medium used to be. When first arrived I'd only use turbo when not home cause it sounded like a jet. I believe a lot of the issue with the new air purifers over the last ten years is they are far too focused on how quiet and energy efficient they can make them which means less wattage less motor power less fan speed and hepa filters and pre filters are tightly woven and thick and hard enough to pull air through especially in units where the fans are just in open air above the filters they just circulate the room air naturally in the big chamber that holds the fan and circulates the unfiltered room air. Sleep mode is a joke. You might as well just buy a white noise machine because they have a hard enough time pulling the air through the filters put them so low you can't hear it and it's not pulling ANYTHING through the filter. It's just a fan at that point that might throw out some pollutants that are loose in the filters. Nothing makes me more angry than when I buy one of the better ones on market established for years and i blow a hit of marijuana i prefer my cat doesn't inhale second hand smoke from The smoke moves toward and hovers around the machine until the clean air current pulls it up and spreads it out into the room. So i try putting the unit up higher maybe the smoke won't catch the current as easily. Nope same thing. Same with coway, airthereal, bluair is decent when on high the 311i max model but any lower and you just have a fan again. Right now I'm testing out luftrum. People assume it's a generic name but luftrum is a real company from Sweden and I love anything not originally made in or from. A US business. If so then I know the machines are not focused of efficiency or quality. Just how quickly they can pump them out and make a profit before everyone realizes they are crap and break in a month Winix was my favorite but when motor died slowly I did some research and found this is a very common thing with winix. They motors aren't built for the machines to run on high consistently. They work longer when set to like auto mode so it stays on low all the time unless sensing air quality is bad. But because you need to run these things all on high to actually clean any air and air sensors only sense dust particles unless specifically made for sensing more which you'll pay 1500 dollars for units with those features for large rooms. I am liking the luftrum. I'm testing it and the bluair 311i max simultaneously I can't decide but I think luftrum c3500 is working a lot better
I went with the Blue air 311i for my dust allergy
