"It’s is SO MUCH more quiet than the s7 it ramped up the suction power from 4000 to 19000 yet I can let it clean my office room while being in a call now."
"Extremely quiet compared to our last one to the point where we can have it running while my partner is in work meetings (besides emptying water and dust bin, but that is 10 seconds of loud x 2)."
"pads that lift on carpet so you can run it while the baby naps"

"I recently found out I have a bunch of allergies- including my dog, so I got these Winix units to try and help combat the allergies. ... Within about 45 minutes of running one in my living room, part of my nose that has been clogged for as long as I can remember opened up. I’m breathing better than I have in years."
"I can tell you they really work. I have a mold allergy, and mold is literally everywhere in outdoor or indoor air with spores just waiting to land in a suitable environment for growth, but I have no symptoms at home with my two small Winix."
"They are also great to have during annual west coast wild fire smoke season and keep particulates in the house undetectable even when it has been horrid outside."

"They're incredible and the best thing is that they have this washable cloth sleeve (pre filter) that goes over the entire intake which happens to wrap all the way around. ... It does such a good job that the actual internal filter stays significantly cleaner and doesn't need to be cleaned or changed as often. ... It's a game changer."
"super effective kasi tuwing nililinis ko pre filter puro buhok ng pusa."
"It does an amazing job of capturing cat fur. ... I have to wash it every two weeks due to how much fur and hair it catches."

"It's still not providing 4-5 air changes an hour to 3,000 square feet ... It's common for air purifier manufacturers to mislead on square footage coverage. The 3,000 square foot is likely based on one air change an hour. That won't be enough for someone wanting a purifier to help with allergies, viral load reduction, dust reduction, etc. ... The Blue Air website recommends 635 square feet for 4 air changes in an hour. ... The 635 square feet assumes the device will be ran on the highest fan speed to achieve the 4 air changes an hour. ... After doing some deeper digging I learned not to trust the advertised square footage. Even some big name publications are just trusting manufacturer claims and are not doing their own testing to verify. Members of this forum like myself try to educate people that we can't always trust the advertised square footage. ... It's unfortunate we can't always trust the advertising. I wish manufacturers would give a straightforward number on air changes you can expect in an hour within a certain square footage and ceiling height. For ex: 4 air changes an hour in 500 square feet 1 air change an hour in 2,000 square feet"
"Energy Star rates the Coway Airmega 100 for 169 square feet. ... Sadly it's very common for air purifier companies to overinflate their room size coverage. ... Energy Star and the Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers are great sources for seeing the recommended room size. Even then, the room size is based on the highest fan speed. Sometimes there can be big differences among the different fan speeds."
"However, it claims to have 3500 sq foot of range but it doesn’t have the best range as I disconnect once I get to my front door. The router is upstairs with nothing directly blocking it."

"it has ‘electrostatic’ as well as HEPA-type filtration (they claim theirs is better). I understood electrostatic was the only thing that could actually clean the air like for gasses or VOCs, not just remove particles. Looking back and re-researching, it looks like anything electrostatic will produce at least some undectectable ozone. So, well I’ll-be-damn! I wanted to not have to worry about ozone!"

"I don’t like they have an ionizer that you can’t disable. ... Ionizers create ozone, and when ozone reacts with different molecules it creates all kinds of new compounds that can’t be predicted."

"I think that having a pre-filter like that is the main problem because you have all these particles stuck to it which can become attached to anything or anyone that touches it ( for example pet's fur) and then they carry those contaminants everywhere again. ... I'm in Los Angeles so I got it because of the wildfires and possible asbestos but I'll be returning it because of this design. ... Yes now imagine it sucking all the bad particles from nearby wildfires, for example asbestos. Then a dog can brush their body through the fabric and carry it around until it gets lose in the air again ... I didn't even know the old design was the same way. How can they be rated so high in many websites? Even consumer reports has the of them. Now I even distrust CR"
"it was so poor at performance. ... With the Blueair, every month i have to clean the pre filters as they are caked in dust! I had the winx for a while and no once did the pre filters get any dust on them, despite it being left on 24/7. You could visibly see dust building up on its base, and around it but nothing inside it. ... but it wasnt strong enough to make it inside to the pre filters."
"It's no wonder the filters last for 5 years, the thing never runs. ... They are not "purifying the air" if they are not moving the air through the filters."

"I don't like the fabric design either. ... I can't imagine it being graceful to remove without making a dust cloud."
I have a blueair 211i and 2 311is and I love them. I have noticed a significant decrease in dust and allergy symptoms. I recommend getting at least one for the bedroom and one big one for any open areas.
Blueair.com, Swedish, excellent products.
I also have two blue air purifiers for large rooms. 2 story house. Blue Pure 211i Max Some limited information through the HA integration. There purifiers were rated top at consumer reports and we are very happy with them. No more nasty dog smell in our bedroom.
I googled the tests CBC marketplace did on this quickly. The BlueAir **significantly** outperformed a single furnace filter (about 2.5x better) and all other tested brands. Single furnace filter was twice as effective as Dyson. [Source.](https://www.cbc.ca/news/business/portable-air-purifier-tests-marketplace-1.5900782) Furnace filter will probably work great. Don't waste money on a dyson. BlueAir is HQed in Sweden. It is owned by UniLever, which is HQed in the UK. So, BlueAir is at least not American.
Only some blue air models have ionizers. ~~Most/the most common ones do not.~~ The CADR for the 211i max (which I only pick because I have) does not have an ionizer and still rates ~4x a single Merv 11 filter on a box fan. I still think the Merv on a box fan is great. I only use BlueAir because I know it's effective while also being pretty. I also like the pre-filter for pet hair. Edit: I have learned that it apparently does have an ionizer, but, it's CARB compliant and has passed many other tests that certify it's not producing ozone in any amount that could possibly be dangerous. I think people just want to dunk on it (and use words like ionizing [which we should be concerned about] with no nuance) because they're expensive. But it still works very well and is safe.
Blue air. My wife suffers of airborne allergies, and these air purifiers practically eliminated her allergy episodes at home. We know they worked since a couple of times we have tried generic filter replacements and my wife allergies were back, but disappear again as soon as we bought the original brand name filter replacement.
We have the Blue pure 511 for our bedroom and the Blue pure 211i Max for of living room-kitchen (open concept).
We are in the same boat - we have two dogs in a small house and I’m due next week. We’ve had a Blue Air purifier with the pet dander & dust filter and it seems to be working well - we have one big unit (i think the product is 211i Max) down in our first floor that was gifted to us from my in-laws two summers ago when wildfire smoke was really bad. We just bought the smaller version (411i Max) with the same filter for our bedroom. We had a purifier for our bedroom from Home Depot for a few years but it was not cutting it. The Blue Air’s are kind of pricey, but the filter life lasts a long time and I like that I can control them from my phone (fan speed, see how dirty the filter is, etc.) Also like that they’re not an eye sore and you can pick the color of the fabric that goes over the unit. Looks like they’re running some sales right now too! (https://www.blueair.com/us/shop/air-purifiers)
Most will be loud, on full speed and most will have only 3 speeds. You want one with variable speeds, using a slider in the app. My BlueAir 211i Max does it.
We have the 211 Max and we also have the classic 405. I have a tiny 411 in my office.
I went down the air purifier rabbit hole just a few weeks ago at the behest of my kids as I live in wildfire country. My search ended with a friend’s recommendation and corroborating research helping me decide on the Blueair 211i. Or something like that. It’s been pretty solid. It does NOT like it when you smoke weed. Gets pretty loud. So it’s helping me cut back! Hahahah. It does a great job as getting rid of odors. But I had maybe even better results with my DIY pc fans and Merv 13 filters dealing with cat “smells”.
We have the 211i Max and are happy with it.
