2nd this!!!! I had the classic(old) blue air and I would see dust float in the air more than anything and it did lay on the unit once it settled. I had a 200 series for a small 20x25 room and a 503 for the rest of the apartment. Didn’t do much. I can’t believe they are still ranked number 1 on most websites(when I did my research for a new one)!! Been using Levoit 600… so far so good. My roommate asthma also improved. I also passed the broom on the pre-filter. Was quite satisfying to see all the dust vanish. Good luck!
Blueair - I have been using them around the world - living in Beijing and back in the US. They are tanks and they cover the spectrum of room size. The Blueair 200 series is great for a large room - though I do advise buying replacement filters on amazon (off brand) as their filters are pricey.
Yes - I have used Blueair and Coway air purifiers for a long time. Blueair when I was living in the US and in China (heavier duty in China for obvious reasons). I have one in my den and bedroom and they do a phenomenal job of keeping the air dust and pollution free. Dollar for dollar the coway airmega 200m is probably the most affordable for long term cost(s) - I do not use name brand filter replacements to save, and find them to be as good as OEM filters.
The Classic Blueair models with carbon filters work fabulously, yet I have only seen them priced as low as $300 when on clearance. You can still easily get filters for clearance models, though.
We use BlueAir Classic, they’re quite effective and are WiFi enabled. The companion app is sometimes frustrating to use but it’s outweighed by the fact that they have an API and can be automated. So I have the purifiers run a different speeds based on the values of our IKEA Vindstyrka.
Multi level approach works well. - Decent filter you change more regularly for your HVAC (agree with others that MERV shouldn't be too high) - Clean floors, if you have carpet get a deep carpet cleaning annually - Room air filters. I've had luck with Blue Air. Have one jig one for living room and some small ones for the bedrooms. - Have you tried using regular saline rinses for your nose? I use the powder saline mixes with the plastic applicator from NeilMed, but there are others out there. While my allergies are pretty mild, I haven't needed to take any allergy medicine at all since using these.
It helps a lot. I bought it due to smoke but I’m happy to get rid of cooking and dog smells. I have one from Blueair.
