"I personally have 2 blueair they work great I have 2 cats and my thanksgiving guests couldn’t smell them or their litterbox at all!"

"Both make a dramatic and perceptible difference in air quality. ... I can now paint my nails in the house and not choke out anyone who enters the room, or risk giving the cat (or myself) brain damage."

"happy to hear from guests our house doesn’t have a dog smell."

"They're incredible and the best thing is that they have this washable cloth sleeve (pre filter) that goes over the entire intake which happens to wrap all the way around. ... It does such a good job that the actual internal filter stays significantly cleaner and doesn't need to be cleaned or changed as often. ... It's a game changer."

"Blueair imo because they have washable prefilters, and pet hair and dander is large and honestly doesn't need HEPA filters to clear it out the way, say, smoke does."

"The outer pre-filters do put up a lot of dust and I can throw them in the wash."

"We are a household full of asthmatics with allergies. We have 4 BlueAir purifiers and I cannot recommend them enough."

"has substantially lessened my seasonal allergy symptoms while in the house"

"I also have two cats and I definitely notice a difference in my asthma when I'm regularly running it vs. when I'm not."

"Although you'll find complaints it doesn't use a "real" HEPA filter"

"I don’t like they have an ionizer that you can’t disable. ... Ionizers create ozone, and when ozone reacts with different molecules it creates all kinds of new compounds that can’t be predicted."

"OTOH, the two Blueair purifiers are on all the time and we have ***not*** noticed a decrease in the rate at which dust accumulates on the woodwork in the house."

"Maalikabok pa rin kahit super sealed yung unit."

Do have the Coway 250 as an option? I got one for $250 open box or refurbished on Amazon. It’s amazing. The sound it makes is very pleasant and it’s easy to clean, and aesthetic. The Coway or 240 is also a good choice and comes in white. The Winix 5500-2 or C535/C545 is also a solid choice and a bit more affordable. I believe Costco has good deals on the C545. Lastly, you could check local marketplaces. I got some Winix, and Blue Air purifiers (the 203 slim, 403, and 503) for a great price.

I love my Blueair. It’s either a 500 or 600 model and I usually get the smoke filters because they have carbon in them and it helps with pet odors. I really like it.

I have one and think it is worth $50. I got it at Blueair and it was on sale for $300 or so off. It's a very expensive air purifier and three filters are need. If you want odor control, too, you must get the [Classic 500/600 Series DualProtection Filter](https://www.blueair.com/products/500-600-series-dualprotection), as opposed to the filters that just clean the room. They range from $120-150 for three, depending on where you buy them online. The Blueair website even has a subscription plan where you get a discount for subscribing. I'm using it in a foyer which is connected to a living room and dining room, and it works fine. The foyer is right off the breakfast nook and kitchen, and it does an excellent job eliminating cooking smells that drift into the foyer and can travel upstairs. The first two speeds are quiet, but the third highest speed is very, very loud. I also have the Blueair 211+ and 211 Auto in other rooms and really like them, too. If I need air purifiers in the future, I will always buy Blueair.

Used purifiers can be a good deal, but a new filter for this model is well over $100 so your cost of ownership is going to be expensive going forward. Need to make sure you’re ok with those costs BlueAir has almost exclusively switched to circular filters, so there’s always a chance they will stop producing replacement filters for this model at some point. Also, purifiers are not designed to eliminate odors even though they market them that way. They can help, but it’s not going to make a huge difference. Also you have a very large space at 800sq ft, so you will most likely need multiple units to properly clean your air

Our home is 1200 sq ft with two dogs. We have an Alen Breathesmqrt Classic Purifier in the main living space. We have a Blue Air 311+ in the bedroom and another BlueAir Classic in the master bedroom with an air quality monitor built in. You can notice a huge difference in our home, as we can create a clean room when needed during forest fires. We didn’t have these when the worst one came through Oregon. We love them and our allergies are so much better. We change the HEPA filters every 6 months or sooner. Our favorite is the air quality monitor to be sure everything is getting filtered properly.

Blueair. Super quiet, super effective and moderately costly. They have good special running right now! Consumer reports has them as the highest rated.

Winix aren’t bad, blueair is one of the best performing. In my opinion, it’s worth the cost. I’d rather have a product that works AND fast, versus a mid product that was on the cheaper side.

I love Dyson too but the cost is wild and their filter’s are also costly. Blueair is a sweet spot, in my opinion. Not too much up front and filters aren’t terrible.

Blueair’s Mac series are quite nice. Their blue line is good as well, just a little bit louder. They will perform well, overall. Consumer Reports shows the numbers, they speak for themselves. The 211i Max is $250, here in the US. Hitachi was even on their lists and only the Dyson Big+Quiet was ranked, right in the same range as the Blueair at twice the price. You won’t regret a blue air. I have 3, classic, blue and max series.

We run 3 in our house, one in the main living area (diy pc fan with hvac filters), and one in each bedroom (blue air brand or something, I think). Also consider plastic on leaky windows (cheap sliders).

I have a few Levoit the same size as this one. I don’t really care for them compared to the Winix and Blue Air ones I have.
