r/AirPurifiersLooking for Air Purifier Recommendation for 1200 Sq Ft Apartment (With Cats)

Do have the Coway 250 as an option? I got one for $250 open box or refurbished on Amazon. It’s amazing. The sound it makes is very pleasant and it’s easy to clean, and aesthetic. The Coway or 240 is also a good choice and comes in white. The Winix 5500-2 or C535/C545 is also a solid choice and a bit more affordable. I believe Costco has good deals on the C545. Lastly, you could check local marketplaces. I got some Winix, and Blue Air purifiers (the 203 slim, 403, and 503) for a great price.

r/AirPurifiersDust Issue, massive amounts! which purifier beyond 2.5 ppm?

2nd this!!!! I had the classic(old) blue air and I would see dust float in the air more than anything and it did lay on the unit once it settled. I had a 200 series for a small 20x25 room and a 503 for the rest of the apartment. Didn’t do much. I can’t believe they are still ranked number 1 on most websites(when I did my research for a new one)!! Been using Levoit 600… so far so good. My roommate asthma also improved. I also passed the broom on the pre-filter. Was quite satisfying to see all the dust vanish. Good luck!

I love my Blueair. It’s either a 500 or 600 model and I usually get the smoke filters because they have carbon in them and it helps with pet odors. I really like it.

It helps a lot. I bought it due to smoke but I’m happy to get rid of cooking and dog smells. I have one from Blueair.

We love our blueair also. Got a dog a month ago and happy to hear from guests our house doesn’t have a dog smell.

r/HomeWhat's your best pick of home air purifier currently? Are they really worth it?

Seconding Blueair! We have a Levoit and a Blueair; while I have nothing bad to say about the Levoit, I personally prefer the Blueair (granted, it was about twice as expensive). We've got two medium-sized dogs, and - aside from the clumps of dog hair under the baseboards - you wouldn't know that we had any pets!

r/AirPurifiersBest air purifier for dog smell. No air conditioning or circulation.

I love my blueair. It's highly rated for the price, and has a cloth sleeve you wrap around the outside and toss in the wash that prefilters out the husky fluff. If your pup is smelly it's probably oily, and needs either more roll in leaves and dirt time or more frequent bathing. A simple rub with a damp cloth frequently, like daily if you're not using soap, will work wonders.

Sorry, what "air quality problems"? Can't say we've noticed any, with our 3 air purifiers running 24/7 in a one-bedroom apartment... 😉 (Both of us have pollen allergies and one of us has asthma.) That should answer your question. Seriously, buy an air purifier. Once you feel the difference you'll probably end up getting a few more. We've got two of the medium Coway models (Airmega AP-1512HH or 200M) and a smaller BlueAir. They also help with smells -- bathroom, pet, or cooking. Highly recommend the Coways because they: * Are whisper-quiet on all but the highest setting, and can auto-adjust (though we usually leave them on medium because they get loud if they kick into high). * Move a lot of air for their size * Have filters that last way longer than they're rated for (as long as you clean the prefilter) * You can turn the main light on the purifier off for use in a bedroom at night Tip: it's better to get several medium air purifiers and put one in each room or area rather than getting just one big one.
