"Last year there were wildfires nearby and the airmega kicked itself into high gear (I keep it on auto), so I do really trust that it’s actually doing something."
"The sensors are amazing. ... Yes whenever I cook or smoke they instantly kick on and work really well."
"great to put it on eco mode , as it detects poor air quality it automatically switches modes to higher setting and shows it as purple or red and once air is back to being good it goes back to eco mode and shows blue."

"Energy Star rates the Coway Airmega 100 for 169 square feet. ... Sadly it's very common for air purifier companies to overinflate their room size coverage. ... Energy Star and the Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers are great sources for seeing the recommended room size. Even then, the room size is based on the highest fan speed. "You need one per room, they dont really cover more than a few hundred sq ft."
"The Airmega 100's top CADRs are too low."

I have a couple! The AirMega 100 is the smallest I have and the air mega mighty ap-1512 is the biggest— I also have the air mega 160 which is a great midsize one if your space isn’t too big. https://cowaymega.com/products/mighty-ap-1512hh?
I just wish the Airmega 100 was like... 2 inches (5 cm) shorter in all dimensions. It seems just bulky enough to be kinda a pain to move around. The Levoit Core 300 is about the same dimensions as well. I've been eyeing the Airmega 50 because it's much smaller, but at the cost of CADR (my bedroom is very tiny though). Yes - the Levoit is not "technically" HEPA because they've not gone through the actual qualification / testing process (or something along those lines). However, people do say the filters are still very good and work as described and to the same degree as HEPA. Since I have a Coway already, I'll probably stick with the Coway lineup, just because I haven't had any issues and I've developed a trust of the brand. I'd maybe look into higher-tier brands like Allen or IQAir in the future if I really want to go all out. But after being burned by Blueair, I'm hesitant to try other entry to mid-tier brands. With that being said, I have a Levoit vacuum that I do really like and I would probably try one of their purifiers in the future.
Did you make the “IKEA enclosure” or did it come with the printer? Some of them come with ventilation w/ filters. Despite my recent post about my makeshift printer purifier, FDM is (relatively) very safe. At least compared to resin printing. I print both PLA and PETG and haven’t had any issues. I don’t have an enclosure. The only material I’d avoid is ABS without proper ventilation. With your enclosure any airborne sediment is going to either collect on the inner walls or fall back down. It’s unlikely that any significant amount of VOCs will go beyond that. People here will most likely say, “that budget is too low for anything meaningful to protect against VOCs.” But, I’d say if you’re really worried about it and want something for peace of mind (knowing that it’s an imperfect solution) you can look at the Levoit core 200, Coway Airmega 100, or other SFF purifiers. Their CADR is pretty low and they have only a little bit of carbon, but it would at least be something. The reality is smaller / more economical purifiers are going to be limited with their performance. And that removing VOCs requires (large amounts) of carbon, you’re in a tight spot. However, unless you have existing medical conditions or are incredibly sensitive to air pollutants the risk factor is pretty low. I’d personally either: 1. just rely on the enclosure. 2. Create a makeshift vent with a PC fan + carbon sheet 3. Add a small purifier as close to the enclosure as possible.
As dust particles are heavy they can settle to the floor before reaching the filter. That's not to say that filters don't catch dust. Just replaced the pre-filter on one of my machines which was saturated with dust. According to U.S. Consumer Reports (subscription required) where the top rated model got an 85: BlueAir had the best overall ratings of all manufacturers with all models in 1st or 2nd tier, 62 to 81. Best overall ratings of all manufacturers with all models in 1st or 2nd tier [https://www.consumerreports.org/appliances/air-purifiers/c29550/](https://www.consumerreports.org/appliances/air-purifiers/c29550/) Levoit: Out of 10 models tested. 3 in 2nd tier, 5 3rd tier, 1 in 4th tier, 1 in 5th tier with scores ranging from 32 to 74. None in tier 1 (the best) where the highest rated filter rating is 85. Winex: Only 2 out of 7 Winix models rated good to fair, the rest poor Coway: 1 Coway model rated excellent out of 9 models tested. None of the others fell in their 2 top ratings categories. One is in the lowest rating category. Ratings range from 48 to 85. Coway 100 got a 38, Airmega ProX 85, 1512 57. Winix: out of 6 tested models ratings none were in the top ratings tier. Ratings ranged to 51 to 74 where the top rated model got an 85. 2 were in the 2nd tier, 4 in the 3rd tier. Dyson: 2 models tested with ratings of 49 and 69
I just bought two Coways (100, 200). They seem good so far. One question: they seem always to stay on blue state (good air quality). Does yours cycle through other air quality states and kick on more?
Coway airmega 100. Best bedroom I’ve ever bought. Better than blue air.
I have 5 Coway Airmega’s. 1x Airmega 250 3x AP-1512’s 1x Airmega 100 They are BY FAR the best I’ve ever had and I recommend them to everyone. There was a very thorough test video done by wire cutter that originally piqued my interest here: https://youtu.be/VM9CJZpqfpA?si=s45QTvHQnlvtbcDE
This is the big one we have. Best bang for the buck IMHO: https://cowaymega.com/products/mighty-ap-1512hh And this is what I have for my very allergic son’s room. https://cowaymega.com/products/airmega-100
I got the Coway Airmega 100 and so far I really like it. I only have a 1 bed 1 bath apartment so it’s plenty for my square footage but really any Coway is pretty good
Eh, Energy Star rates the Coway Airmega 100 for 169 square feet. How big are the rooms you're staying in? https://www.energystar.gov/productfinder/product/certified-room-air-cleaners/details/2732648 Sadly it's very common for air purifier companies to overinflate their room size coverage. Energy Star and the Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers are great sources for seeing the recommended room size. Even then, the room size is based on the highest fan speed. Sometimes there can be big differences among the different fan speeds.
Coway would be the most reliable in considering Winix (or even Levoit). But I wouldn't recommend the Coway Airmega 100. Per the [AHAM 2/3 rule](https://ahamverifide.org/ahams-air-filtration-standards/) mentioned in the AutoModerator comment, your "adjusted" square footage of 197 sq. ft. requires minimum CADRs of 132 CFM. The Airmega 100's top CADRs are too low. I would recommend the [Coway Airmega 150](https://cowaymega.com/products/airmega-150) or [Coway Airmega 160](https://cowaymega.com/products/airmega-160) instead. If you want to order directly from Coway, use the discount codes **COWAYMEGA10** or **FORYOU10** for an extra 10% off. Keep in mind the CADRs listed apply to the highest airflow speed/setting only. Lower settings have lower CADRs, which reduces cleaning effectiveness.
