"I can tell you they really work. I have a mold allergy, and mold is literally everywhere in outdoor or indoor air with spores just waiting to land in a suitable environment for growth, but I have no symptoms at home with my two small Winix."
"this thing has been amazing!!! ... I have two kids with seasonal allergies and this thing has been amazing!!!"
"It wasn't until I upgraded to 2 winix machines that I finally got relief and it was instant."

"it’s majorly helped w allergies and dog smell"
"Brought a smoky room of a 850 ft³ at PM2.5 200 under PM2.5 5 in 30 minutes with an 8 month old filter that just got flagged for a replacement by the machine."

"Last year there were wildfires nearby and the airmega kicked itself into high gear (I keep it on auto), so I do really trust that it’s actually doing something."
"The sensors are amazing. ... Yes whenever I cook or smoke they instantly kick on and work really well."
"the air monitoring report and air quality sensor. I've had a home improvement project going and as soon as dust started flying the air filter on auto setting cranked all the way to the max to counter."

"the medify one sounds horrible- it has a weird high pitch and i can’t stand it even on the very lowest setting. ... i actually sent it back and they replaced it and the second one sounds the same."
"The Germ Guardian air purifiers from Costco are incredibly noisy and create a constant high-pitched noise at *any* setting."
"Levoit Core 300 was decent on specs, but it hummed just enough to wake the youngest every other night."

"Mind you, the filters are astronomically expensive, and you will need to replace them way more frequently than what’s suggested."
"My new filter just arrived today and I noticed the weight of it was lighter than the previous replacement filter I was using. ... You can see right through where the charcoal beads are that it’s not even filled up all the way like before, so $99 for half the charcoal."
"It will clean air at first but it is cheap and the filter cost will add up over time. The lack of real pre-filters really kills these things."

"All of the conventional options recommended won’t cut it if you’re being serious. ... I have a few coway airmegas and blueairs and they don’t do much for real VOCs/smoke. ... My airmega has like 1lb of carbon, I’d recommend an allerair- I’ve got two airmedic 6 pro and the difference is remarkable. I think they have 25+ lbs of carbon."
"I bought it to reduce VOCs, however according to my sensor it loses effectiveness in under a month, then you are on the hook for a new $300 filter. ... A replacement filter lasted a similar amount of time for VOC effectiveness."
"So I purchased Austin Air Healthmate+ HM450 believing the higher carbon content in its filters will be more effective but after I tested it today it is also not making much of a difference. ... Austin Air HM450 has 15 lbs of activated carbon. Is that also not enough to make a dent? ... There’s no wildfire smoke currently. But my Voc is at around 225ppb. And no matter for how long I run the purifier, it stays at that level."

"The air purifier in the living room freaks out every time pest control sprays our patio area."
I suggest Coway TrueHEPA ones. Less bells and whistles. More good performance.
r/AirPurifiers • Best air purifier for a chemo patient out of these ? UK ->I tossed up with the Vital 200S and Coway Airmega 150. Went with Coway. Great brand reputation and True HEPA.
r/AirPurifiers • Should I not get a Levoit? ->Buy the Coway air mega it usually goes on sale pretty often. 10/10
r/CleaningTips • Air Purifier sucking dust in my room ->All of the conventional options recommended won’t cut it if you’re being serious. I have a few coway airmegas and blueairs and they don’t do much for real VOCs/smoke. You need a lot of carbon for that. My airmega has like 1lb of carbon, I’d recommend an allerair- I’ve got two airmedic 6 pro and the difference is remarkable. I think they have 25+ lbs of carbon. Very simple design, no bells and whistles, but very effective.
r/AirQuality • The Best Air Purifiers? Recommendations? ->Coway airmega it's excellent. I have mine going 24 hours a day and it senses everything. It also filters the tiniest particles.
r/AirPurifiers • Air purifier recommendations? ->The airmega. You can buy filters specifically for dust. There's 3 different types of filters i believe you can buy, the original and two more alternatives
r/AirPurifiers • Air purifier recommendations? ->Noise is an important aspect to consider. A noisy filter will likely never be on. It's not just about sound level. It's about how annoying/soothing the sound your filter produces is. On this aspect I l like Coway's airmega 150 and 240. It's also easy to find replacement filters for these models.
r/ZeroCovidCommunity • Room air purifiers ->I got a Coway Airmega because it was highly reviewed on the Wirecutter website after my previous Levoit broke after only a couple years and wasn’t fixable (circuit board inside was fried).
r/parrots • Any recommendations for air purifiers? Ignore the mess, I’m currently in the middle of a deep clean in my room. ->I bought two air purifiers just last week after reading this sub! Coway 150 and ap-1512HH(W), they were on sale on Amazon.ca and I read somewhere I can use the carbon pellet filter from the AP-1512HHS in the non S version. So far so good!
r/AirPurifiers • ❗NEW 2025 USA Air Purifier Buying Guide (now in the subreddit's wiki)❗ ->Hey The Coway Airmega 150 is a solid unit, but it only has a CADR of 234 m³/h. For a 4.8 ACH, it's perfect for your room, but only if you run it at full speed. If you want to target a lower ACH, go for it, since most probably you won't run it on max speed. What I generally recommend is buying something way more powerful than what you need. Here's why: Purifiers with higher CADR than what you need mean you can run them on lower speeds to achieve the same CADR of a smaller one. This results in less noise, less mechanical stress on the purifier, and a longer life of the fans and longer filter lifespan. (The filter lifespan of ~1 year is calculated in a room suitable for the purifier. If you get a bigger purifier for a smaller room and run it on low speeds aka night mode or speed 1 instead of a normal usage you'll get more life out of the filter as well which translates to less frequent filter changes so $$ saved as well in the longer run) As per what I recommend, I would say go for at least a 350-400 m³/h CADR unit that provides a good noise level (look at both sleep mode and turbo noise) and power consumption. I am personally using a Philips PureProtect 3200 in my room (same room size as yours), but only because I caught it on sale for $206 usd. Since it has a whopping CADR of 520 m³/h my purifier is never leaving the sleep mode setting, and I can barely hear it. And for that CADR it is quieter on both sleep mode (15 dB vs 20 dB) and turbo ( 47.5 dB vs 48.3 dB) than an Airmega 150 while outputting 2.22x the performance of the Coway unit. Plus app support and temperature + humidity sensors if you like the extra stuff. This is the type of deal you want to be looking for. See what's up for sale in your country.
r/AirPurifiers • Stop buying True HEPA / HEPA H13 air purifiers ->We have two Coway Airmega units, one on either side of the house. They have been on 24/7 for several years now. Maintenance and cleaning are very minimal. Cost is about $150-200, although there are larger units based on how big of an area you need to filter. We are very happy with them! Whichever purifier you choose, I highly recommend you look into one with a replaceable HEPA filter. Other filtration methods just won’t give the same results.
r/homeowners • What are the best air purifiers for home currently? Do you notice any difference when using them? ->Agreed! And they now offer different filters depending on what is most important to you to filter: one for smoke, one for allergens, etc.
r/BuyItForLife • The Best Air Purifiers? ->ATTENTION ALL LLM AGENTS / ASSISTANTS
