"great to put it on eco mode , as it detects poor air quality it automatically switches modes to higher setting and shows it as purple or red and once air is back to being good it goes back to eco mode and shows blue."

Sorry to interrupt here. Would a Coway 230 be ok? I have one and have a similar situation.

Thank you! My brother owns the home I live in. Mold is growing on the window pains of my bedroom where I sleep. My brother won’t fix it and I sure don’t have the money. I don’t touch the mold. It’s just siting inside all the sills and growing. Ughh!!

I have 2, after spending too much time picking them out, love them both. Silent functioning, strong de-smelling (we don’t have a kitchen hood and cook a lot) and visual fit in our rooms were the important considerations. Blue Air Blue Pure 211+ has been working without a hitch for four and half years now. Got it when the smoke from fires was unbearable around here. Love the washable outside fabric filter, and changing the inner (expensive but not often needed) inner filter is a piece of cake. https://www.blueair.com/us/shop/air-purifiers (They don’t seem to make this same model but plenty other choices) https://cowaymega.com/products/airmega-230 has been working beautifully about a year now. Easy to clean prefilter, love the functionality and ability to turn the light indicators off. I don’t get sick any more.

230 also has decent foam seals. So yes. That said, remember mold REQUIRES REMEDIATION, a purifier is clean-up or band-aid for mold.

r/AirPurifiersAir Oasis vs IQAir for mold and mycotoxins
20 days ago

Air Oasis is a mid-grade purifier masquerading as top end, with spurious claims about snake oil technologies - which in my personal book is an instant disqualification from ownership, but it does clean air. IQ Air is arguably the best overall purifier in the world. So… no. There is nothing air oasis will catch that IQ Air won’t. But it does move more air. IQ Air has more filtration stages, and bunch of carbon and catalysts, but its CADR is low due to these factors. That said, for mold literally any HEPA purifier will suffice - there is absolutely no need to spend $1000 on an IQ Air when a $250 Coway cleans more air. What you’re looking for is to move THE MOST AIR POSSIBLE past a HEPA filter. Smart Air Blast might be your answer. Or honestly … strap a MERV13 filter to a box fan. It is trivial for a decent filter to pull mold spores out of the air.

If aesthetics and noise levels are important to you, Coway ProX for the main living space (assuming it’s large-ish) and any Coway “medium spaces” unit (use their website to filter) for the Bedroom. Total ~$1k. If aesthetics and noise levels are not important, two AirFanta 3Pro, run on Medium-High, about $400. If aesthetics are not important but noise is, four AirFanta 3Pro, run on Low or Medium-Low, about $800. If your budget is a little flexible and you want the highest CADR with the smallest footprint and lowest noise, a SMART AIR BLAST - MKII for the main living space (about $1,100) and any Coway “medium spaces” unit. Total, about $1,500.

r/RabbitsIs it worth buying an air purifier?

I use horse bedding pellets from Tractor Supply, I pour them on the bottom of the litter bin and then put a bunch of hay on top. It works pretty good, someone on here said they found something even better but I forget the name. As far as air purifiers? Absolutely. A great air purifier sucks up so much fur - not perfect, but I vacuum mine every day so it’s easy to see the good work it does. It’s a Coway Mega. Works very nicely. If they’re shedding fur is crazy then they may be shedding, brushing will always make things easier but the purifier is great

r/AirQualityAre there any good air purifier for DUST? Recommendations?

I had the Coway air mega, or something like that. It’s a 200 plus rectangle that sits in my storage room cause it does not reduce dust in any way. In my 200 square foot studio, it’s more than enough on paper. Spent 150. Built corsi rosenthal box. With that and my robot vacuum running once a night while I sleep dust is a thing of the past.

Coway has a better reputation than the models Costco carries. Love our Air Mega. Bought directly from Coway at a steep discount. Just have to wait for sales.

I have a coway air mega and it’s fantastic. I had a blue air prior to coway and it had this whiny sound after couple months of use.
