My Coway 230 plays nice with smart plugs and restores power after loss. The other Coway purifiers e.g. 150/160 probably do as well. However, Coway has been really shit lately about EOLing products suddenly (Coway 230 isn't even available for sale anywhere, despite being hands-down their best-looking and overall best purifier they have ever made ... they literally EOLed their best product and reason to exist as a company) On the upside though, Winix 5500-2 filters (which haven't changed in years) fit fine inside my Coway with a margin around the edges and I will just laser cut an adapter frame and use Winix filters in it in the future If you're handy with EE stuff, I find that my old hideous-looking Winix 5500-2 doesn't restore power after a loss but if you \*hold down the power button permanently\* it will power on after a loss. So all that's needed is theoretically to jumper the power button permanently.

Sorry to interrupt here. Would a Coway 230 be ok? I have one and have a similar situation.

Thank you! My brother owns the home I live in. Mold is growing on the window pains of my bedroom where I sleep. My brother won’t fix it and I sure don’t have the money. I don’t touch the mold. It’s just siting inside all the sills and growing. Ughh!!

wait why? i have the 230 and they discontinued it supposedly because it was too similar to the 240. and now they're discontinuing the 240 and 250?? are they bad models or something? :(

230 also has decent foam seals. So yes. That said, remember mold REQUIRES REMEDIATION, a purifier is clean-up or band-aid for mold.

Air Oasis is a mid-grade purifier masquerading as top end, with spurious claims about snake oil technologies - which in my personal book is an instant disqualification from ownership, but it does clean air. IQ Air is arguably the best overall purifier in the world. So… no. There is nothing air oasis will catch that IQ Air won’t. But it does move more air. IQ Air has more filtration stages, and bunch of carbon and catalysts, but its CADR is low due to these factors. That said, for mold literally any HEPA purifier will suffice - there is absolutely no need to spend $1000 on an IQ Air when a $250 Coway cleans more air. What you’re looking for is to move THE MOST AIR POSSIBLE past a HEPA filter. Smart Air Blast might be your answer. Or honestly … strap a MERV13 filter to a box fan. It is trivial for a decent filter to pull mold spores out of the air.

I suggest Coway TrueHEPA ones. Less bells and whistles. More good performance.

I love my winix plasma wave. I also have a Conway air mega that’s sized for my bedroom that’s been going strong

I have two Conway airmegas (and two blueair and two winx… small house but multiple levels). LOVE the Conway airmegas. Two cats, one dog and two people. I have them mostly at room transitions (near doorways and stairs). The amount of dust and pet hair they pull in is amazing.

I have a big Conway airmega I got when living in Los Angeles for the bad air quality. Then we have a few very small ones right next to the cat litter boxes. I bought winix ones that have good air turnover but are noisy for the bedrooms when we moved bc this house had some smell and possible mold issues. The winix are nice but I got refurbished and two of the three are noisy.
