I have 3x coway mega (ap1220), coway mega 300s, blue air 7740, philips, airfanta pro. Philips is useless, others are similar and all good. Coways are perhaps my favourites. In paricuoar, Coway 300s is big, which means I can run it on a lower setting, it is quiet but still works. Airfanta is good but looks a bit rough. Blueair is very quiet on a low setting, but too expensive. I would take the largest / with highest capacity you can buy. And check the replacement filter prices before buying, blueair in particular is expensive. I occasionally buy dupes for replacement filters, and last time I could not find any differences between the branded one and the copy on the outside. But obviously, you never know.
I’ve got a Coway 300S in the main living area of my house (kitchen, dining room, living room), and a Coway 1512 in my bedroom. Both have been great! Highly recommend Coway.
Have had Coway Airmega 300s for years
This is the coway airmega air purifier which has a coverage area of (I think) 1200 sqft. We keep it in the hallway and it actually gets to green within an hour. The aqi in my area is 222 right now (i haven't seen the aqi monitors here being sprinkled with water or anything but there is constant sprinkling of water on roads to keep the pollutants grounded) but even when the pollution was at peak, this one could purify the air to green in around similar time.
I got coway last year when I started getting breathing problems due to all the pollution. Unless we can somehow control the stubble (parali) burning, the city is doomed!
It's coway airmega 300S Currently out of stock
It's coway airmega 300S It has costed me somewhere around 40k last year
Yeah my air mega 300s used to be good but can’t even log in anymore. Levoit Everest air is a pleasure.
Considering the current Coway price tags, I prefer Alen. I have the Coway Airmega 400S and 300S and then recently got the Alen 25i for my small office. Alen hands down has the most pleasant sound. Plus they come with a lifetime warranty if you buy their filters which are reasonably priced.
Hey, you and I are in the same boat. I had a baby boy at 31 weeks, now almost 5 month adjusted, and I went down the air quality rabbit hole hard. I want to do whatever I can to keep him healthy and developing normally. He sleeps with us in our room right now. I have a clean air kits luggable xl pc fan cr box and a IQair Health Pro Plus running on setting 2. Both run 24/7. This gives me a lot of air changes per hour and some gas filtration, while staying below 50 decibels. In the rest of the house, I have more luggable xls, smart air blast, iqair gc and GCX, Coway 400 and 300, and an Alen 25i. I think it’s important to get a standalone air quality monitor like the air gradient one or purple air zen. I run the hvac blower fan 24/7 to circulate air through the house. I also open windows every morning and bring in fresh air to keep CO2 low. I don’t know what your budget is, but you can make your own cr boxes for really cheap and then throw a few nice hepa air purifiers on top. I bought all the expensive units used (iqair, Coway, smart air) and saved a ton of money. Just gave them a good cleaning and new filters. Another important thing is to always run your kitchen hood vent when cooking I’ve been keeping my house between 68-72 degrees Fahrenheit so that he sleeps his best and relative humidity between 45-55%. I have a Midea Cube dehumidifier I run when it’s really humid out and humidity in the house gets above 60%. I also vaccum and mop the floors all the time now. We have an old dog that sheds a lot and the floors get covered in hair if I don’t stay on top of it. I kindof rambled but that’s just been what I have been doing and what purifiers I bought to give you some ideas and things to look into.
I just got an Alen Air 25i for my little office and it’s been a really great unit for the last few weeks. Alen sells bundle “whole house” solutions that might work for you. For me, I put a smart air blast in my living room, a iqair GCX in my kitchen, iqair gc in my dining room/front foyer, Alen 25i in the office, Coway Air Mega 300 and 400s in our spare bedrooms, an iq air health pro plus in the master bedroom, and 4 clean air luggable cr boxes spread out throughout the house. Do I have an addiction to buying air purifiers? Yes. Very weird addiction. But all were bought off Facebook marketplace and were pennies on the dollar compared to new. Just had to give them a good wipe down and put in a new filter.
I have an American Eskimo dog bought this exact purifier expecting a miracle- it will not trap any dog hair so I bought a real air purifier (Coway 300s) for dander and dog smell which has been great. If you have a fluff dog get a robot vacuum like Roborock to vacuum everyday it’s been a life changer
...different websites display different levels of expertise or due diligence? There are traditional and online media websites "reviewing" purifiers whose methodologies, criteria, or testing will vary. Many product review articles authors are journalists, not HVAC or air quality engineers. And the underlying goal of some websites may be to drive viewers towards referral or affiliate URLs to make money. You have to compare apples to apples. RTings.com has tested only 2 Coway models and 2 Winix models. There are no Smart Air, IQAir, Alen, or Medify Air units. I'm looking forward to RTings.com testing more purifier models. But right now, the test selection isn't impressive... there are a lot of Dyson purifiers. As stated on one of your other posts, we generally like Coway for the build quality, performance, and quiet operation. The ProX, 400S, 400, 300S, 300, IconS\*, and Icon\* come with a 5 years warranty. All other Airmega models have a 3 years warranty. Link: [https://cowaymega.com/pages/warranty-registration](https://cowaymega.com/pages/warranty-registration) \*We do not recommend the Icon / IconS, as they have poor CADRs for the money. The Levoit EverestAir is the best purifier Levoit makes with lots of extra features. Some of the CADRs are a bit low (373 CFM for Dust and 354 CFM for Smoke). Top sound level according to HouseFresh is 57.8 dB; note this isn't an A-weighted decibel rating. Warranty period is 2 years. Don't know how the EverestAir's build quality compares to Coway's higher end offerings.

FYI: Air purifiers can't overcome walls or doors. You would need one for each room. (It sounds as though the 500 sq. ft. is fairly open, but I don't know if that includes a walled-off bathroom.) That being said, multiple purifiers can capture pollutants closer to the source and increase air circulation. The recommendations from others here are a bit off. Some models (if you were to buy just one) do not have adequate Clean Air Delivery Rates (CADRs). You should follow the [AHAM 2/3 rule](https://ahamverifide.org/ahams-air-filtration-standards/) for CADRs as mentioned in the AutoModerator comment and in our "How To Choose An Air Purifier for Particulates \[Comprehensive Guide\]", specifically ["CADR Particulate Types and Sizing"](https://www.reddit.com/r/AirPurifiers/wiki/index/how_to_choose_an_air_purifier_for_particulates/#wiki_cadr_particulate_types_and_sizing). For a continuous 500 sq. ft. space, **the minimum CADRs ought to be 334 CFM**. If someone has allergies or sensitivities, CADRs should probably be even higher. A single [Levoit EverestAir](https://levoit.com/products/everestair-smart-air-purifier) ($499.99) meets minimum CADRs for all particulate types. A single Winix 5510 or Coway Airmega 300 do *not*. **However, you** ***can*** **buy multiple air purifiers to ensure minimum CADRs are met or exceeded. You haven't listed a budget per se, so I don't know how much you want to spend.** Generally, we tend to recommend Coway purifiers first for their build quality. Their best units are usually the Coway Airmega 240, Airmega 300, Airmega 400, and Airmega ProX. Keep in mind the CADRs listed for purifiers are for the highest airflow/speed setting only. Lower settings have lower CADRs.
No, Dyson is one of the worst! The HP09 has terrible Clean Air Delivery Rates (CADRs). They just know how to market effectively. As **Rule 4** and the AutoModerator comment repeats, it's helpful to know the ceiling height. I'll assume it's 2.4 meters. 60 m^(2) x 2.4 = 144 m^(3). For rooms measured in meters, CADR should be at least 3 times a room's volume (in m^(3)). So the minimum CADR should be 432 m^(3)/h. If you have [allergies, health conditions, high pollution, etc.](https://www.reddit.com/r/AirPurifiers/wiki/index/how_to_choose_an_air_purifier_for_particulates/#wiki_when_higher_than_normal_cadrs_may_be_needed), multiply the room's volume by 4-6. So CADRs of 576 - 864 m^(3)/h. Coway is a high quality brand that's relatively quiet. I don't know exactly where you are, so I don't know what's available to you. But the [Coway Airmega 400](https://www.amazon.co.uk/purifier-restaurant-certified-HyperCaptive-filtration/dp/B099S9Y285) would be a very good fit (Amazon UK website linked). If you can't find that, the Coway Airmega 300 might suffice... although you may want to supplement it with a smaller Coway model like the Coway Airmega Jet.
Have you read our [sticky post at the top of the subreddit](https://www.reddit.com/r/AirPurifiers/comments/1jxgjwf/sticky_purifiers_and_dust_reduction/) or the [FAQs wiki page](https://www.reddit.com/r/AirPurifiers/wiki/index/faqs/) entries about dust? Air purifiers aren't good at reducing visible dust as it's large and heavy. I would always avoid Shark. It's a low quality brand and we've had multiple reports of the air quality display not working. Coway purifiers are generally the best quality in the consumer-grade market (although they're more expensive). However, you'd have to buy one with the letter *S* appended to the model name. S-letter models have app connectivity. A great value for money is the Winix C909 sold on Costco.com. It has PlasmaWave, a bipolar ionizer that may be turned on or off. The C909 will be fairly loud on the highest setting called "Turbo" - about 60 dBA according to the Decibel X Android app and it's not very energy efficient at 95W. But purifiers need to be sized by room volume - so please list your room's length x width x height. See **Rule 4**.
