Wait until the Coway Airmega 450 goes on sale. This unit moves a ton of air if you can deal with the noise.I picked up a white one for about $350 around Christmas.I think the 400 was on sale a while back for $349.
The green color is for marketing.I thought the same thing. The green hepa is used on several of their machines. On sale you could buy 3 off the Coway Airmega 450's.The Coway 350 lacks the laser sensor, wheels on the bottom, and less airflow. I bought the 450 for less than $350 and the 350 for $239. If odor control is not an issue buy a couple IQAIR Atem X and skip the Atem Earth.
I have several IQAIR Healthpro purifiers.4 of the compact model and 2 of the model with the carbon filters. I also have an Austin Air and 2 Coway Airmega 400's. Recently I bought the 350 and the 450. The IQAIR purifiers are the best quality wise and offer the better filters which filter down to.003. The Coway machine aren't sealed machines but are still ok. You need to see the IQAIR Healthpro in person to make sure they will look ok with your furniture design. I don't mind the cleanroom look. I got the Coway Airmega 450 for about $350 on sale and it moves alot of air but is noisy on the turbo mode. I think you should try them out off Amazon and return the ones that don't work in your home.
Coway Airmega 350/450 are amazing.
Neither. Coway ftw. 350 or 450.
Coway Airmega 350/450 is amazing.
Id get the Coway Airmega 350/450 for the main living space. The more changes per hour the better. Winix 5510 for smaller rooms and bedrooms.
Coway Airmega 300/400 or 350/450 for larger open spaces. Winix 5510 for bedrooms.
Either one is fine. 300/400 or 350/450. I have the 350 and love it. I'm using it with 2 x Winix 5500-2.
Theyre definitely worth it, helps my allergies. If I do something small like lightly wipe down my blinds the air purifier can detect the change in the air same as when I change my bed sheets. When I cook its really working. I really have tremendous peace of mind knowing the air I breathe is better for a small investment. It'll sometimes go on turbo unexpectedly. I had only realized why later in the day when I smelled burned barbecue literally a hundred feet away or so when i left my house. If I were you id go on amazon and get a winix t810 for the bedroom. If you have a massive living room like me id get a air mega 450. They look cool too tbh.
Im between the winix t810 and the coway 350 or 450. Its so hard to know what to pick haha
Ended up just ordering a used like new 350 and 450 for pretty cheap. I have a small apartment anyway. Gonna put 350 in my bedroom and 450 in living/dining/kitchen lol
Wondering the same. Just got the 450 in the mail yesterday from the deal this week, but debating returning it for the 400 instead if there is good enough reason. My main two reasons are: 1. the 450 has a custom round filter, may be hard to replace long term and cost of filter has not been announced. Compared to 400 has pretty standard filter size. 2. Even though the 450 has higher CADR technically I think it might be because of the Turbo mode, which imo is not really usable as it can only be used when in turbo-only mode. So you might end up with higher CADR with the 400 anyways. But this part I'm trying to confirm. Edit: I just ordered the 400 as well and will return one of them, so will literally compare them side by side
Ended up keeping the 400 and returning the 450. I did take some sound and power readings from both at each speed so I might post those later this week
450 is round. New design. Not as good but more trendy.
Higher claimed CADR. It is round so that number will go down rapidly.
Clean Air Kits isn’t HEPA. Does that matter? Maybe or maybe not. But it’s very specifically NOT HEPA. That said, most of Coway’s lineup has no ionizer. The 250/300/400 are excellent machines. (Avoid 350 and 450 as they are round…)
I'm a big fan of the Coway Airmax line and got my original recommendation from another pet community. I have both the big square shaped guy and the smaller cylindrical one for a smaller guest room and both keep the smell way down.
It definitely helps with the dander/dust, but it's unfortunately most effective when you change or clean the filters pretty regularly. Don't let Amazon bully you into getting the name brand filters and get the off-brand ones, it doesn't know the difference. I have two short haired but large dogs and one small cat so we have a lot of fur flying around. I clean a good deal of it out of the filters each time so it's surely doing its job! I definitely feel a difference when the filters are new or clean. When they're in the top intensity mode they're a little loud, but most of the time they're whisper quiet at level 1.
bought a coway air mega last yr. no complaints, no smells ever :) tried that box fan nonsense-even after sealing all gaps around frame/filter, still mostly recirculated the air right near it. worked terribly (regular 20 buck lasko box fan)
I bought an Airmega for our bedroom a year ago. My wife says my nighttime snoring has almost completely stopped. We ended up being so happy with it we bought another for the DR/LR.
