I have the Coway AP-1512HHS (the app-enabled Airmega, there’s also a dumb version that can’t connect) that I use via a HACS integration.

Have you read our [sticky post at the top of the subreddit](https://www.reddit.com/r/AirPurifiers/comments/1jxgjwf/sticky_purifiers_and_dust_reduction/) or the [FAQs wiki page](https://www.reddit.com/r/AirPurifiers/wiki/index/faqs/) entries about dust? Air purifiers aren't good at reducing visible dust as it's large and heavy. I would always avoid Shark. It's a low quality brand and we've had multiple reports of the air quality display not working. Coway purifiers are generally the best quality in the consumer-grade market (although they're more expensive). However, you'd have to buy one with the letter *S* appended to the model name. S-letter models have app connectivity. A great value for money is the Winix C909 sold on Costco.com. It has PlasmaWave, a bipolar ionizer that may be turned on or off. The C909 will be fairly loud on the highest setting called "Turbo" - about 60 dBA according to the Decibel X Android app and it's not very energy efficient at 95W. But purifiers need to be sized by room volume - so please list your room's length x width x height. See **Rule 4**.

[Coway](https://www.nytimes.com/wirecutter/reviews/coway-ap-1512hh-mighty-air-purifier-review/)has won many performance awards for their air purifiers for several years and their prices and performance have been better then Iqair from my research. The coway black with wifi looks sleek and isn't too noisy.

The black and gold model one. The white one does not have wifi but the black does (if that matters to you).

Depends on the preference and needs you have. The wifi one you can program it to run on a specific schedule (I.e eco overnight and auto during the day). The non wifi one you just don’t have the option to program it to run a certain airflow so you either turn it on low/med/high or leave it on auto/eco. Personally, I needed the wifi one for my parents so I could program it to run on high at specific times of day when I know they have workers coming in that might be sick as my parents are immunocompromised and I wanted their COVID risk to be lowered (these machines have been shown to capture those particules). But for regular folks without those concerns of timing the machine, the non-wifi one is probably is good.

Same here! Got one for each room last year, and very satisfied with it so far.

Second the Coway Airmega! It is a beast, honestly. I’ve had it in my bedroom for over a year now, and you can literally feel the difference in air quality

I bought the coway airmega last year and love it ever since. The filter is really easy to change and it runs pretty quietly on low settings.

I don't know about car-specific air filters, but I've been very happy with the Coway HP-1512 room air cleaner that I bought in 2016, so I'd check on whether Coway makes a product for cars/trucks. I second the advice about getting an air quality tester, I've been thinking about getting one myself.

I have a Coway hp-1512, bought it in 2016, so far it's lasted over four times as long as the several Honeywell filters I bought before it (All of which died after about 2 years). The coway disposable paper filters are a little expensive. But according to reviews that is outweighed in the long run by the brushless motor, which uses less electricity (and is also more durable because there's no physical brush contact), and by the air quality sensor which can ramp speed up and down as necessary, again saving electricity.

I actually have something very like a controlled experiment, and the answer is that the power bills aren't significantly different. The experiment is that I live in a small apartment building that I own with my brother. We live in two apartments, net door to each other, and in most regards our electricity usage is very similar (similar appliances, etc), except that I also have a room air cleaner. Our electric bills are very similar. I have a Coway HP-1512, not a Winix. One of the reasons I bought the Coway is energy efficiency, which it gets from: a) It uses a brushless motor, which inherently more energy efficient. b) An air quality sensor that turns the speed up and down as needed, so it's not running full speed 24x7. I'll also say that the Coway has, so far, lasted ten years (bought in 2016), while the previous three air cleaners (Honeywells) died after 2-3 years. I'm pretty impressed with the Coway. The filters could be more affordable, but (according to an independent reviewer) the Coway's air quality sensor/variable rate, and prefilter, make the more expensive filters last longer than the cheaper filters on other air cleaners. So it evens out in the long run.

If aesthetics and noise levels are important to you, Coway ProX for the main living space (assuming it’s large-ish) and any Coway “medium spaces” unit (use their website to filter) for the Bedroom. Total ~$1k. If aesthetics and noise levels are not important, two AirFanta 3Pro, run on Medium-High, about $400. If aesthetics are not important but noise is, four AirFanta 3Pro, run on Low or Medium-Low, about $800. If your budget is a little flexible and you want the highest CADR with the smallest footprint and lowest noise, a SMART AIR BLAST - MKII for the main living space (about $1,100) and any Coway “medium spaces” unit. Total, about $1,500.

COWAY Airmega 1512hh model. You’ll thank me later. The filter is better than a Levoit 200. I upgraded from Levoit.
