"tried the Conway and there was so much plastic offgassing. I returned it.."
I have coway flat version and the round Aim version, one for each bedroom. ayou can go ahead with either of them but the flat version is much quieter than the round one and also from my experience cleans up a few minutes faster than the round one. that said both get the job done well and ai have had no issues. I prefer the flat one since it has the removable pre filter to wash and quieter and firs snugly against wall.
I moved my Coway Airmega into the nursery and its night mode is whisper quiet while cutting dust and pollen.
If aesthetics and noise levels are important to you, Coway ProX for the main living space (assuming it’s large-ish) and any Coway “medium spaces” unit (use their website to filter) for the Bedroom. Total ~$1k. If aesthetics and noise levels are not important, two AirFanta 3Pro, run on Medium-High, about $400. If aesthetics are not important but noise is, four AirFanta 3Pro, run on Low or Medium-Low, about $800. If your budget is a little flexible and you want the highest CADR with the smallest footprint and lowest noise, a SMART AIR BLAST - MKII for the main living space (about $1,100) and any Coway “medium spaces” unit. Total, about $1,500.
Have the IQ air does not catch dust or similar. I ended up buying a.Blue air that does and running both. The air quality that comes out of the IQ air is excellent, but if dust is your issue, is not gonna help. Blue air smells like plastic in comparison.. tried the Conway and there was so much plastic offgassing. I returned it..
I got some Conway ones on sale for a main level and bedroom in my house a while back. My plan was to help alleviate dander, allergens, and fire smoke. I can't say I have any empirical evidence of their efficacy, but I'm glad I have them. If you have a couple hundred bucks and no central air, I think it's worth it.
We have two, a Conway and a Fellowes AeraMax 300. Both are excellent. #
2 Conway and 1 Winix currently. Had 3 Levoit’s but they all died between 12-24 months. Junk
I love that it's super quiet, I just leave it running all night and forget it's even on.
I’ve got a Conway that’s been going strong for 10 years.
The Winix (Costco version, I believe 545) does well in our LR but it definitely doesn’t do anything for food odors. It’s also a bit industrial looking if that matters. If it was on sale at Costco I probably wouldn’t hesitate to pick another one up. Since this Conway gets so many great reviews, thought we might try it. Still on the fence though
