About to send the PC1 back (it’s my third in 2 weeks) because of whining noise and have got the Philips instead (was going to get the 7000 but Philips have a sale on the 8000 making it cheaper than the 7000!). It’s quieter for sure - I measured 1m away using an app with max fan on both and Philips averaged 64db either Dyson on 68db. Dyson also had peaks of 76db which may be the whining noise!). The sound on the Philips is much more what you expect - no whining just the sound of the air which is not annoying like the whine. Air flow is also way better on the Philips - sitting on the settee 2.5m away we can feel it strongly on max, where as the Dyson was a pleasant breeze. I prefer the Dyson style but the Philips is still attractive and modern and fits well in our lounge. Sizewise they are very close in height but Philips has a bigger base and also noticeably heavier. Apps both good, but more data in the Philips one. Philips has more features, a circulation and heat mode as well as the fan, and a new AI auto mode but I’m not exactly sure what that does yet! Any other questions let my know, or anything you’d like me to test. Dyson is going back tomorrow.

For Dyson PC1 I get Air Quality, PM2,5 PM10 indoor and Air Quality, PM2.5, PM10, N02, Grass Pollen, Tree Pollen, Temp and humidity outdoors. For Philips 8000 Air Quality, PM2.5, Gas, Allergens, Humidity, Temp Indoor and Wind, Humidity, UV Index, PM10, PM2.5, Grass Pollen, Mugwort Pollen, Alder Pollen, Ragweed Pollen, Birch Pollen, Olive Tree Pollen. Strangely the PC1 wouldn’t take my local town, I had to choose a bigger one nearby for outdoor data, even though my other Dyson machine does. In Dyson you have to search for a town/city. On Philips if you allow location detection it finds it for you and it was my local town. The AI mode which I have now looked at uses some AI model to analyse the data captured including I assume how you use the machine to control Indoor Air quality, learn usage patterns to determine quiet times, energy optimisation, and performance personalisation (by looking at outdoor air quality cleaning performance). Sounds impressive - but time will tell if it is a noticeable improvement (or worse than without it!) Disagree re the look, but that’s highly subjective 😀

Build quality is solid. The Dyson is much lighter and feels more plasticky (still nice though). So far very impressed with it, with the stand out quality being the power of the fan and the fact it’s relatively quiet with no whine. Edit: also filters appear to work a treat - we have had high grass pollen here last few days but indoors the sensors report nothing even though we have had windows and doors open at times. I’m not sneezing anyhow!

I recently bought dyson Tp11 as its a new product there are not many reviews available to decide. I bought one last week and here's my review. This fan is disappointing, the airspeed is too low at max limit. The sound is too loud at Max level. However the purification is pretty good. Pros: 1. Sleek design 2. So modern Conns: 1. Low airspeed 2. Too loud I am pretty disappointed. Any suggestions how to make the room cooler.

I agree with the “too low”. The output at 10 is horrible for a fan unless you are at least 6 feet or closer to it. I just got mine and it will be going right back.

I’m pretty sure they are talking about the output not strong enough to be cooling. Unless you sit nonsensically close to it, it’s one of the worst “fans” I’ve ever purchased. The output is a joke.

I own a Coway Airmega, BlueAir 311 Auto, and a Dyson PureCool. Coway is for the main living room/kitchen, BlueAir for kids rom, and Dyson for our bedroom. Overall the Coway is my favorite. It’s a beast and has a low cost of annual maintenance. Strongly recommend.

How did you manage to research so thoroughly yet still consider including the Dyson? not only that - in an 80-100m² house? Moreover, the Clean Air Delivery Rate (CADR) of the Winix Compact 4-stage Air Purifier, Dyson Purifier Cool Formaldehyde TP09, and Dyson Purifier Cool Purifying Fan TP07 is not suitable for larger room sizes. These units are more effective in smaller spaces, and their CADR values do not match the requirements for adequately purifying larger areas. You need at least 5 ACH (on low or medium fan settings for low noise) to make the Air Purifiers actually works. Air purifiers are most effective in small rooms. To ensure optimal air quality throughout an entire house, multiple units are necessary. The higher the Clean Air Delivery Rate (CADR), the faster it can purify the air in a given space. However, Dyson is the worst of them all. And, none of the machines mentioned are sufficient to clean a medium-sized apartment (80-100m²) on their own; they are best suited for individual rooms. Please using these information below to research again: \- To effectively combat dust, you'll need a HEPA or MERV filter. \- When it comes to VOCs and odors, the more activated carbon present, the better it will be at eliminating them. \- Last but certainly not least, the Clean Air Delivery Rate (CADR) is the most critical factor to consider for overall air purification efficiency. It MUST be at least 5 ACH

First, any premium item with that big of a discount is usually "worth it". Secondly. The Hot/Cool work great. Bought my first about 6 years ago when it was called the HP02 Link model one of the first to use wifi/app. The HP02 saved us during a freeze with no power for days...hooked it up to the portable generator to keep our room warm. Then we decided to add another Hot/Cool 4 years ago HP04. We also have a Pure Cool. No issues on any, just regular maintenance like changing filters. We are happy with them all and the app to control and review data. I think the AM models don't have wifi/app capability...I was researching them recently to add another hot/cool.

Low quality parts. They market well using fancy CGI but the reality is constant maintenance and very expensive cheap parts that fail even after 1-3months Dyson is the most talked about vacuum when it comes to failure and shoddy workmanship

Just never buy from blue air directly. They won’t help up if a package is lost. I’ve used a few other smart purifiers. The Dyson ones suck at dust and the smart part works with Alexa and google home only and it’s very buggy. It needs to be reconnected often. Just got a lg 360 and it’s good other than the wifi module in the unit. It loses connection frequently and also is limited to their app. It briefly worked in Alexa and google home but often non responsive. It does have built in air quality sensor though. We also had a blue air sense model several years ago. That was one of their first smart models. It had to get WiFi reset about once a year and didn’t support a lot of integrations. Eventually the WiFi module failed on it. We have business grade wifi (Cisco Meraki mr56 x 2 APs). so it’s not like budget consumer WiFi routers.

I have a Dyson, BlueAir, and Levoit in various areas of the house. Levoit is near the litter box and is loud but does a good job - we never smell the litter box. Our favorite is the BlueAir in our bedroom - we keep it on auto mode 24/7. It’s super quiet and seems to work well. The Dyson is our most expensive one and we would probably not buy again. We like that it’s also a fan when it’s warm, but it doesn’t perform any better than the BlueAir which was a fraction of the cost.
