I have Dyson PH2 and I think it has every control in the Google Home app that is present in the Dyson app, but you don't get any info like temperature, humidity, air quality, etc. https://imgur.com/a/UNRzmlg

u/Qballmjk I received my unit today and happily I can announce that they have done some changes. Although the changes are nothing ground breaking, the duct tape is still there and the lid is already smiling at you when you remove the duct tape. But they have sink all the wire connections from outside of the compartment to hot glue or epoxy resin as well as everything below the circuit board inside the compartment is also sub merged into that same stuff. Therefore making the unit absolutely non repairable in any way or form, but also making it probably first time ever water tight if you have little oopsie at some point. I don't see the water could get inside the circuit board compartment anymore, except from the smiling compartment lid if the duct tape is not holding. Therefore I am going to glue the compartment door shut with epoxy glue, since there is nothing to see or repair at any point anyway. And therefore making sure the water doesn't find its way in there no matter what. I couldn't remove the actual pump unit (grey plastic) from the top cover (white plastic) since couple of the screws were under the epoxy resin. But according to [these photos](https://imgur.com/a/dyson-ph01-pump-examination-8BwpdZ8) by u/techtimee there is no way the water could get inside from there anyway. [Photos of the water pump unit in 2026](https://imgur.com/a/3rNovrk) So in short if you don't trust duct tape water proofing capabilities. I would glue the lid shut with a glue that can fill small gaps like epoxy glue or similar and ditch the duct tape completely. Just be sure the glue is all flat on top of the lid so you can get the top cover over it. After that the water pump unit should be completely water tight afaik. I will update here if I prove my self to be wrong in next two years that the guarantee will cover my investment. And I am going to buy and use only distilled water in this since I want to avoid all problems caused by scaling/lime build up in internal pipes and/or water pump itself. Its a little pricey, but I bet its gonna be worth it in the long run, if this unit can now last many years of use. EDIT: And this unit is sold in EU. I cannot say for sure are the changes worldwide the same. But considering how how small the changes were I bet they could be the same, no matter where you live. EDIT: I sealed the lid now with [Würth 2C plastic adhesive Replast® ME 90 sec.](https://eshop.wuerth-industrie.com/2C-plastic-adhesive-Replast-ME-90-sec-ADH-PLA-2C-REPLAST-90S-BLACK-50ML/0893500051.sku/en/US/EUR/) and leave the duct tape out completely, because it serves no purpose anymore. End result is not pretty, but its under the cover plate so I don't care. At least there is no possibility to get water in the compartment thru that lid anymore. I also glued the screw holes shut since the lid is not coming off anymore. https://preview.redd.it/r9pl4ty2qveg1.jpeg?width=960&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0ff35daf46bb6127200647e48ca81e45b35c3ff7

I also bought air quality monitor today that measures CO₂, PM (1, 2.5, 4 and 10), NOx, VOC, Temp. , Air pressure and air humidity. I was mostly interested about the CO₂ levels since I do work a lot remotely from home and they seem to be in good level all day. And also the air humidity, that seems to be a bit too low at the moment. But overall I can see if the Dyson Purifier has some effect on values they claim to purify.

I'm having it since Nov 2025 and I'm satisfied with it so far. I thought about using distilled water but ended up with a tap water. It runs in auto mode 24/7 and I noticed that somewhy it raises the speed every morning up to almost the maximum point. When it does do it makes a slight whistling sound. I'm not sure if it has to be like that or not but it's not very concerning rn. I'll look into that if the sound goes worse. The air flow is strong enough and it removes any smells from the air very well.

I have been using the Dyson Pure Humidify+Cool for a while now as my air and purifier and it has been great for my similar-sized space. It effectively removes fine dust and controls humidity. Filter replacements are a necessity every 6-12 months and electricity costs are at a reasonable rate

r/CatAdviceMy boyfriend is allergic to my two cats, what to do?

As someone who is strongly allergic to cats and moved in with my now-wife, who has cats, I can tell you there’s plenty you can do! How strong is the allergy? If it’s mild, there isn’t much to worry about - clean the house regularly, make sure he keeps taking antihistamines, and that’s basically it. If the allergy is strong (like in my case), then you’ll have a real battle on your hands, but it’s doable. First, cleaning needs to become regular and in-depth: moving furniture, cleaning every corner, and routinely washing anything the cats touch. This includes mattresses, sofa covers, blankets, pillows, and other items you may have washed only semi-regularly in the past. Now it needs to be done every week, or more often. Get a HEPA vacuum cleaner; with two cats, you’ll be vacuuming a lot. Get a good air purifier/humidifier. The cheap ones didn’t work for me, but once we invested in a Dyson, it made a huge difference. It also helped to get a bigger flat so I have my own room that has no cats policy so I have my safe haven. Last but not least, my personal *hail mary,* sometimes the allergy is so strong that the only way to calm it down is to either leave the house for a few hours or use a face sauna. You can make your own with a pot, salt, hot water, and a towel over your head, or you can buy a commercial one. Regarding the comment "It's either me or the cats". I totally understand this comment as I had the same one when I was dating my wife. If he's strongly allergic, it's kinda natural he wants to prioritize his own health resulting in these extreme overexagarations. I was the same. So I'd say just try to live together a bit, fix what you can fix. If it still doesn't work, or he refuses to collaborate and can't accept the cats, then ditch him! :)

r/ThailandLiving in Bangkok, is an Air purifier a must?

A couple years ago I bought a Dyson that reads out the PM2.5 level. Even when the AQI is >100 my indoor air quality is good (below 25). Thus the purifier doesn’t get much use. Maybe I got lucky and my condo is relatively air-tight? Dunno, but YMMV.

r/AirPurifiersIn need of smart air purifiers

Just never buy from blue air directly. They won’t help up if a package is lost. I’ve used a few other smart purifiers. The Dyson ones suck at dust and the smart part works with Alexa and google home only and it’s very buggy. It needs to be reconnected often. Just got a lg 360 and it’s good other than the wifi module in the unit. It loses connection frequently and also is limited to their app. It briefly worked in Alexa and google home but often non responsive. It does have built in air quality sensor though. We also had a blue air sense model several years ago. That was one of their first smart models. It had to get WiFi reset about once a year and didn’t support a lot of integrations. Eventually the WiFi module failed on it. We have business grade wifi (Cisco Meraki mr56 x 2 APs). so it’s not like budget consumer WiFi routers.

Why Dyson, they are literally the worst AP on the market

Low quality parts. They market well using fancy CGI but the reality is constant maintenance and very expensive cheap parts that fail even after 1-3months Dyson is the most talked about vacuum when it comes to failure and shoddy workmanship
