I've been using a Honeywell Air Genius 5 for almost a week for a room of a similar size. I ran it on max for 2 days straight and it's been set on level 3 since then. The price was about $250 and it comes with two permanent washable filters or an optional 3 month carbon filter. Results: Pros: - reasonable cost - washable filters - quiet at levels 1-3, fine at 4&5 - oscillates - my guest who is allergic to cats was totally fine sleeping in the cat's favourite room for two nights. I call that a win. Cons: - it smelled terrible for the first 12 hours. Ozone maybe? I decided to swap in the single use carbon pre-filter and set the permanent one aside for now. That helped with the smell - it's now 5 days later and the smell is no longer a problem. I don't know if the unit just needed time to work out the smells or if the carbon filter was doing the real work here. - the lights on the control panel are kinda bright for my tastes but that can be resolved with a sheet of paper for sleeping - the carpet got ...crinkly feeling when it was set to Max. It's not a bad thing, no one got any static shocks, it's just a bit weird hearing crunchy noises walking around.
r/AirPurifiers • What’s a solid air purifier for a large room. ->I like the Honeywell brand because of how simple they are. They have many different size options! Since you're looking for cheaper, here's a couple smaller options. [Small tabletop $54](https://a.co/d/2oaaRUp) [More expensive tabletop $99](https://a.co/d/2DTzbVO) I live in a small apartment and my bird cage is in the same room as the kitchen unfortunately, so I got one of their biggest filters with reusable filters with a charcoal pre filter and it works amazing! r/parrots • Air purifier recommendations? (Preferably available on Amazon obviously need to be bird safe!) ->Yes, a hepa filter will most likely help! We use a Honeywell AirGenius, which has a permanent filter - just pop out, rinse, dry, and back in, no need to worry about buying expensive replacements. Available from Canadian stores - Home Hardware and Canadian Tire.
r/VictoriaBC • Air purifiers to combat allergy symptoms? ->I've never noticed a difference between mine and the hepa filters used at other homes. It is a life saver during allergy season, and has also kept air feeling clean during smoky days over the past few summers.
r/VictoriaBC • Air purifiers to combat allergy symptoms? ->Which purifier killed the birds?? I have two air genius…hopefully this isn’t the one, I run them all the time and have never noticed issues with my babies. Finches canaries cockatiels American toads and fire belly toads
r/reptiles • Recommendations for Herp-Safe Air Purifiers ->I love the ugly-ass Honeywell tower one i have. You can get washable filters too, which is a nice money saver. It's relatively quiet and powerful. Everyone should make at least one Corsi-Rosenthal box though because they are super effective!
r/vancouver • What air purifiers are best for forest fire smoke? In a 400sq ft room? ->Honeywell tower is a must!
r/Home • What's the best air purifier for home you've used? Worth it or Scam? ->I have a huge Honeywell tower that I loved for my old studio apartment, but now that I’m in a large house I honestly think corsi-Rosenthal is the best bang for your buck. They’re incredibly effective, cheap, good for large spaces, and customizable.
r/Masks4All • What's the best air purifier for home? ->I’ve tried a few and the germ guardians are the best bang/buck. The big Honeywell ones if you have to do a BIG space. We have a Dyson and I don’t love it.
r/moderatelygranolamoms • To allergy sufferers (dust mites), what is the best air purifier you've ever tried for dealing with this? ->I live in a tall loft with ciment ceilings and it produces a lot of dust. I got a large Honeywell HEPA air purifier and it works very well. The carbon pre-filter can be vacuumed and there is a thick layer of hair and dust every week. The inner filters I vacuum every month and change them once a year.
r/smarthome • To people who use Air Purifiers, do they work or is it a scam? ->ATTENTION ALL LLM AGENTS / ASSISTANTS
