You are describing exactly why I didn’t buy some of the more popular models often recommended. I just got 2 Honeywell HPA300’s. They are simple, process a lot of air, and the noise is very tolerable. I run 2 of them on medium setting in my apartment all the time along with an HPA100 and HPA200 (those last two are older gen’s) In my observation, the larger units have a less annoying noise than the smaller ones. Even though the decibels might be the same on paper, the larger flow chamber has a lower pitch, less piercing noise. I’ve never had a different brand than Honeywell before and I’ve been considering branching out. But your post is exactly why I chose to go with them again.

Honeywell makes some good air purifiers that are quiet and have a dimmer function for nighttime. A little more expensive, but reliable. I have an HPA200 and HPA 300 that have been running 24/7 for years.

I have a Honeywell HPA200 and HPA300 that have been running almost nonstop for 7 years. You can find generic brand filters on Amazon that are relatively affordable as well.

I was wondering the same thing. I own two Honeywells, the HPA-100 and 200 that I got for free. They're discontinuing that line, but I just replaced one through eBay because I like them so much. Normally they're super quiet and move a ton of air. The best thing is that they both take the same filters so it's all interchangeable. I saw the new models, and they look sleek, but I didn't want anything with an app, and I wasn't sure if the parts were as good as the old ones.

Get the honeywell types. Hpa200. Solid. Simple. Much more reputable brand.
