My husband notices a significant impact on his allergy symptoms year-round, we both notice much less wildfire smoke indoors in summer when our area is affected, and I think our house smells better in winter with fewer stale cooking smells. That said, we combine our air purifiers with opening windows whenever the air quality and weather allow and maintaining our HVAC systems conscientiously, replacing furnace filters frequently, washing the permanent filter on our heat recovery ventilation, changing the UV light on our built-in humidifier, etc. We have [this one](https://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/honeywell-hpa5350bc-insight-true-hepa-air-purifier-removes-allergens-odours-black-extra-large-room-0430704p.html) and it does the job but is not a super fancy option.

I have 4 Honeywell insight air purifiers in a 1100 sqft house that still remains dusty at all times. They claim 360sqft cleaning but I hardly noticed any difference. I have to vacuum the filters every couple weeks. At this point I'm thinking of just running a full home air filtration system that literally forces air in and out of rooms through a giant filter. Funny though, doesn't cost all the much more than the 4 Honeywells I bought if I do it myself. Even painting every room with fresh paint and sealing all holes I have this dust issue. Every week everything dusty again. Side note: The Honeywell brand sucks. The replacement filters are literally sheets you have to cut yourself and are so much thinner than the initial filters that come with the main unit. The offbrand filters I buy off amazon are better quality (thicker) and precut. So, while they do collect a ton of dust, the maintenance and replacement is a pain.

They aren't as advanced as others but I like the Honeywell air purifiers, and the Insight series can take a secondary filter for specific things like dog hair or VOCs or even tobacco smoke. They are cheaper to buy than other smaller brands but my first one has lasted I think 7 years maybe or so. Same with my HomeLabs dehumidifier. Never expected that to be the case for $100ish each. If I shine a flashlight I see practically zero dust in the air and can easily see what the charcoal filter grabs in front of the HEPA. Best buy had the https://www.bestbuy.com/site/sku/6412406.p?skuId=6412406&sb_share_source=PDP On sale for $99 recently. The 500sq foot room model is only $169 when it details for close to $379. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/sku/6412444.p?skuId=6412444&sb_share_source=PDP Not sure for your car though.

I live in a tall loft with ciment ceilings and it produces a lot of dust. I got a large Honeywell HEPA air purifier and it works very well. The carbon pre-filter can be vacuumed and there is a thick layer of hair and dust every week. The inner filters I vacuum every month and change them once a year.

Just stay away from the Honeywell HPA models. They all develop a burning smell. I've swapped my 2 out a total of 6 times.
