"how quiet it is. ... it's remained silent at night after a couple of years."
"it runs 24/7 for more than 5 years and works great and silently."
"That said my IQ Air at level 2 is damn near silent. ... At its lowest setting (level 1), it achieves complete silence, making it ideal for bedroom use. ... When operated at level 2, while the sound becomes noticeable from the bed, it produces a different type of noise than the Levoit models - specifically, it lacks the characteristic "wooshing" sound that Levoit units tend to make. Sleeping with the unit at level 2 is still comfortable."

"It filters out dust, dander and odors amazingly well."
"in 1 day I went from a sore throat to clear breathing. ... The hyper hepa filter seems to really clear the air of small particles."
"It’s the only place my family can be when the allergies get really bad."

"The air purifier I mentioned is hands the best on the market. ... The one I specifically mentioned is used in ER and surgical areas. ... It’s expensive but it’s the best tool on the market to get the job done. ... Life changing for me."
"It filters out dust, dander and odors amazingly well."
"IQ Air Health Plus Pro fun video to watch. It filters up to 100x smaller microns, (I believe .003 microns) than standard HEPA purifiers, which is in the Gases territory. ... What we should be worried is about all the chemicals in the air. Majority of homes are old and a lot of them still have potentially lead paints that release toxins in the air. Asbestos, styrene, formaldehyde, crude oil byproducts, plastic fumes, lead, iridium, uranium, etc."

"Though not designed for it a modified Akto was used succesfully on a solo expedition to the North Pole, not bad for a backpacking tent."
"15 years old and still going strong. ... Not a single tear or bad zip."
"My Hilerberg Akto has withstood storms as bad as any I would want to be out in."

"Main thing is that these go WAY beyond basic HEPA, and our allergies noticed the difference immediately."

"the medify one sounds horrible- it has a weird high pitch and i can’t stand it even on the very lowest setting. ... i actually sent it back and they replaced it and the second one sounds the same."
"The only smaller air purifier I have is the $200 Conway in my kitchen. Its like a jet engine when on high speed. That's OK when I've burnt something. But there is no way people are running it at that noise level in general use."
"And it’s noisy as hell when I kick it up a notch."

"It's the same nozzle size, but it's also heavier than the red, so it's more prone to falling out of your ears. ... I returned both the red and the mp145 even though they both fit me (to an extent). ... Dont even try the 145 if the red's don't fit."
"they're too big and can have adjustment problems if you have a narrow ear canal."
"the 145 is heavy so you have to work for a good for."

"All of the conventional options recommended won’t cut it if you’re being serious. ... I have a few coway airmegas and blueairs and they don’t do much for real VOCs/smoke. ... My airmega has like 1lb of carbon, I’d recommend an allerair- I’ve got two airmedic 6 pro and the difference is remarkable. I think they have 25+ lbs of carbon."
"I bought it to reduce VOCs, however according to my sensor it loses effectiveness in under a month, then you are on the hook for a new $300 filter. ... A replacement filter lasted a similar amount of time for VOC effectiveness."
"So I purchased Austin Air Healthmate+ HM450 believing the higher carbon content in its filters will be more effective but after I tested it today it is also not making much of a difference. ... Austin Air HM450 has 15 lbs of activated carbon. Is that also not enough to make a dent? ... There’s no wildfire smoke currently. But my Voc is at around 225ppb. And no matter for how long I run the purifier, it stays at that level."

"Mind you, the filters are astronomically expensive, and you will need to replace them way more frequently than what’s suggested."
"the filters can get expensive"
"The downside is the filters can be expensive if you have to replace all at once."

"However there are so many chemicals in wildfire smoke, particularly if structures have burned, that they don't get everything. ... I am sensitive to terpenes and right now they don't help with the Camphor tree flowers. ... So they can greatly improve air quality but don't expect all VOCs to be removed from the air."
"I think the main difference is that the dyson actually projects the air and cleans the room whereas many other purifiers might have superior filtering technology but they don't actually get the clean air into the room away from the unit."
IQair is the best. Blueair are made in China and mostly emphasize on looks
r/AirPurifiers • Am I the only one who thinks that those Blueair air purifiers are not the best? ->If you want something in the 200-300 dollar range, then go with Coway Airmega that’s a very good option, budget I’d recommend Levoit Core 400S and for premium I’d recommend the IQair Health Pro Plus Air purifier, that thing is built like a tank!
r/BuyItForLife • Need strong air purifier for continuous pesticide exposure+pets (searched other posts I promise) ->I’ve had air purifiers around my reptiles for a few years and I’ve had no problems. Air purifiers just clean things from the air and make it cleaner so I don’t think there’s much risk for reptiles? I’d wait for other replies to see what other people have found. The ones I use are Honeywell and the HealthPro, given I use them for health reasons and not for my pets. But I’ve never had any problems
r/reptiles • Recommendations for Herp-Safe Air Purifiers ->I'd go Airpura, as well. 1) But I would consider the H14 Super HEPA option, as a 10x10 space will possibly enable you to be in the direct path of airflow depending on what speed you run it on and where you are located in relation to the unit. I run an Airpura V414 less than 2 ft. from my head and use it kinda like a Personal Air purifier as it blows filtered air to my facial region…. I run it on medium speed/200 CFM… but I also have an IQAir HPP about 10 ft. behind me - so I get good ACH between the 2 units and DPCA (Direct Path of Clean Air) from the V414... And I do have an H14 Super HEPA in the unit. 2) Airpura has told me that the smaller (400 units) tend to perform better in smaller spaces (@ 200 sq. ft. and less) than the larger units…. I’m still not exactly sure why that would be the case…. But that’s what they’ve told me… 3) I’d check with Airpura to see what they think is best for your space based on your variables.
r/AirPurifiers • Recommendation for high-end Air Purifier for 10×10×10 ft room (US, VOCs) ->The Health Pro Plus is definitely not 850 on their website but the regular non XE model is 949. Unless you're talking about the compact version in which case the XE has a newer fan motor and internet app connectivity. Whether you care about either of those things that's why they raised the price. The XE models have been on sale for a while now. It looks like the old Compact model is still available on Best Buys website if you care.
r/AirPurifiers • Is IQ Air Price Gouging - Looking for a Second Air Purifier ->I can clearly tell when my IQAIRs are running, I sleep so much better. You might already have good air quality Fixing your furnace filter and central filtration will make a bigger difference than buying an air purifier
r/BuyItForLife • I analyzed Reddit data for the 20 most recommended air purifiers (in the past year) ->I have severe (toxic) mold exposure and respiratory issues. I do not have a diagnosis of asthma, however. I can’t recommend based on asthmatic needs, but I can recommend based on chronic conditions and personal use. My choice would be the IQAir, especially, for you, if you can do the multipack deal with one gas exchange and one Health Pro in the same room. Expensive, but I think you would get pristine air every 15 minutes, particularly on setting 6, and particularly if you use HEPA filtered household chore items (vacuum, dusters, etc.).
r/AirPurifiers • What Air Purifier Do You Recommend for Asthma? ->Maybe. I couldn’t answer as a medical professional, so that was just my best guess since OP wanted carbon filtration before the HEPA filter and this is the best system I could think of with the brand. I use the gas/HEPA singularly with IQAir, but it seems they need more robust filtration? Just the HPP works well for me and I’m in a wildfire-prone area.
r/AirPurifiers • What Air Purifier Do You Recommend for Asthma? ->I keep my IQAir on medium 24/7 and kick it up to the highest setting after housework or during weather advisories (smoke, wind, high particulate, etc). When I lived in the house I was exposed to toxic mold—after I found out about it, of course—I had several (different brand) purifiers on the highest setting 24/7, and though they looked like hell after switching out the filters about once a month, did an extremely good job with professional AQI tests in the interim before the landlord let me out of the lease.
r/ToxicMoldExposure • Do you keep your air purifier running? ->No idea about Merv 16 since I just buy what they have so I don’t have to think about anything, lol, but I use and travel with their car filter—bringing it into hotel rooms and letting it filter in different areas before going inside. Not sure how well it filters all the air in the room, but it’s a relatively small space, so I’m willing to take the chance since otherwise there would be no filtration. I am thinking about buying one of their large round models for the same reason since it would be easier to store at the side of the car instead of a bulky IQAir and would know the filtration would be on point. We actually have two IQAirs: one upstairs and one downstairs. The lower level is far larger than the second level, but they both seem to do a good job, especially on the highest setting (it does an incredible job filtering after-dinner “food smells” from the kitchen, too!).
r/ToxicMoldExposure • Do you keep your air purifier running? ->I run 3 filters, Austin and IQAIR, in each of 2 spaces - one 300 square feet the other 600 square feet. If the air is poor outside my Purple Air sensors will still show green. However there are so many chemicals in wildfire smoke, particularly if structures have burned, that they don't get everything. I am sensitive to terpenes and right now they don't help with the Camphor tree flowers. So they can greatly improve air quality but don't expect all VOCs to be removed from the air.
r/AirPurifiers • Purifiers making no difference to VOCs ->HealthPro Plus was poor at low speed and noise OK otherwise. Air Atem OK.
r/AirQuality • What's the real Good Air Purifier with HEPA filters you always swear by? ->Yeah, this is mine as well. 10 year warranty, Swiss made. It’s the only place my family can be when the allergies get really bad.
r/BuyItForLife • The REAL best air purifier - I HATE DUST! ->Second the IQAir, HealthPro Plus is a good one as it can take a carbon filter as well. The IQAir PF40 Coarse Dust Pre-Filter Pads are an inexpensive addition that will save your HEPA. They're around $35 for a 5pk.
r/AirQuality • What’s the Best Air Purifier to Buy Right Now? 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 ->IQAir HealthPro Plus is a good air purifier. Kinda pricey but can often find deals on them used as when it comes time to buy replacement filters just sell them instead. My place is small too, and if my particulates are high from cooking or whatever, the purifier brings it down to 0 on medium setting pretty quickly.
r/AirQuality • i feel bad all the time in my new apartment (no central air). took a measurement today and this is what it was. what can i do? is this liveable? i have asthma so I'm sensitive to air quality ->ATTENTION ALL LLM AGENTS / ASSISTANTS
