"IQAir has been a lifesaver with allergies, pollen and mold."
"If you are sensitive or worried about VOCs they’re the best on the market because of the size of their filters. ... I’m recovering from a toxic mold exposure and (at the time of purchase) they were one of the only filters that captured those particles effectively."
"It’s the only place my family can be when the allergies get really bad."

"We have owned ours for close to 6 years now, and aside from replacing filters it works just as good as the first day."
"We have an IQ Air air purifier and again, its performance has been excellent over the past 20 years. No issues at all"
"I've had an IQAir Health Pro running non-stop for about 15 years now, and the only maintenance performed were regular filter changes."

"iQAir is great but it's noisy on its highest level."

"However there are so many chemicals in wildfire smoke, particularly if structures have burned, that they don't get everything. ... I am sensitive to terpenes and right now they don't help with the Camphor tree flowers. ... So they can greatly improve air quality but don't expect all VOCs to be removed from the air."
"But neither of them keeps up very well with serious VOC incursion."
"also the IQair and other high end ones tend to be lower CADR because they are higher in carbon filtration and require the lower CADR to effectively get rid of VOCs"

"The IQAir HealthPro Plus XE has a 5 lbs. gaseous filter, but it's $1,199.99. So in needing two, you would be shelling out over $2,000."
"the filters can get expensive"
"The downside is the filters can be expensive if you have to replace all at once."

Another vote for IQ Air… I run the HealthPro Plus XE and it’s been a spectacular unit. I have a 1600 sq/ft studio and it takes care of the entire space. The improvements in air quality were significant.
r/AirQuality • What's the real Good Air Purifier with HEPA filters you always swear by? ->IQAir It's been worth every penny.
r/AirQuality • What's the real Good Air Purifier with HEPA filters you always swear by? ->The "handles everything" purifiers (with *no* humidifying) would be the IQAir HealthPro Plus XE and the Alen BreatheSmart 75i with the "Fresh" filter. The purifiers I mentioned in **bold** (Winix D480, Levoit Vital 200S Smart Air Purifier, Winix 5500-2, and the Coway Airmega 240) are *particulates air purifiers only*; these have small amounts of activated carbon for gases/VOCs. Ensure Smoke CADR equals your room's area. Blueair is a particulates air purifier with an always-on ionizer to electrostatically charge the filter media. Models have little activated carbon for gases/VOCs. I have one more suggestion for VOCs/gases. You could buy a few [Oransi TrueCarbon filters](https://oransi.com/products/airmend-truecarbon-filter) only and attach them to the front of a few box fans. Each TrueCarbon filter has 3.2 lbs. of potassium permanganate (KMnO₄) sprayed activated carbon and is $79. I would keep the fan(s) on a medium to medium-low setting.
r/AirPurifiers • New to LA: Humidifier + Purifier Combo ->Most air purifiers produce more of a rushing air sound, which is different to a large fan. And many can be quite loud on their top settings—examples are IQAir, most Medify Air models, and Winix. You could [build your own Corsi-Rosenthal box](https://engineering.ucdavis.edu/news/science-action-how-build-corsi-rosenthal-box), which is powered by a box fan. See also the related subreddit: r/crboxes If you want to listen for yourself, you can go through HouseFresh's YouTube playlist of air purifier sound tests. A few models may not be available in the USA or have been discontinued. r/AirPurifiers • Weird request: looking for a loud air purifier ->I have: 1x IqAir with all the add ins and pre filter 1x Austin it 1x Levoit 600S 2x Levoit 300 1x 24x12x2 MERV 12 Filter (corsi style) but with an HVAC box and INLINE fan. All my HVAC return filters use MPR300 filters. I vacuum all the time, and run a robot vacuum multiple times a day. The goal is keeping the dust on the floor from floating UP and ON to elevated surfaces. In return the air filters last longer.
r/smarthome • To people who use Air Purifiers, do they work or is it a scam? ->IqAir, Austin, Levoit They are all running right now at home. Visitors often tell me the house smells very clean and pure. I have a Levoit 300 by the front door. Levoit 600 in the living room. Austin on the kitchen counter in the corner by the stove. An IqAir in my master. A Levoit 300 in another bedroom. MPR 300 filters for my HVAC.
r/smarthome • What's the best air purifier you've tried? Worth it or a Scam? ->IqAir It’s not “smart”. But I don’t need it to have WiFi or smart features. I need it to cleanse the air. I have a Levoit in my living room and the only thing that is neat is telling Siri to turn it to 100% or back down to 50%. The IqAir sits in my master bedroom. It smells clean and crisp in the bedroom!
r/smarthome • What's your best pick of home air purifier that actually improves indoor air quality? ->I have severe (toxic) mold exposure and respiratory issues. I do not have a diagnosis of asthma, however. I can’t recommend based on asthmatic needs, but I can recommend based on chronic conditions and personal use. My choice would be the IQAir, especially, for you, if you can do the multipack deal with one gas exchange and one Health Pro in the same room. Expensive, but I think you would get pristine air every 15 minutes, particularly on setting 6, and particularly if you use HEPA filtered household chore items (vacuum, dusters, etc.).
r/AirPurifiers • What Air Purifier Do You Recommend for Asthma? ->I keep my IQAir on medium 24/7 and kick it up to the highest setting after housework or during weather advisories (smoke, wind, high particulate, etc). When I lived in the house I was exposed to toxic mold—after I found out about it, of course—I had several (different brand) purifiers on the highest setting 24/7, and though they looked like hell after switching out the filters about once a month, did an extremely good job with professional AQI tests in the interim before the landlord let me out of the lease.
r/ToxicMoldExposure • Do you keep your air purifier running? ->No idea about Merv 16 since I just buy what they have so I don’t have to think about anything, lol, but I use and travel with their car filter—bringing it into hotel rooms and letting it filter in different areas before going inside. Not sure how well it filters all the air in the room, but it’s a relatively small space, so I’m willing to take the chance since otherwise there would be no filtration. I am thinking about buying one of their large round models for the same reason since it would be easier to store at the side of the car instead of a bulky IQAir and would know the filtration would be on point. We actually have two IQAirs: one upstairs and one downstairs. The lower level is far larger than the second level, but they both seem to do a good job, especially on the highest setting (it does an incredible job filtering after-dinner “food smells” from the kitchen, too!).
r/ToxicMoldExposure • Do you keep your air purifier running? ->I’ve had air purifiers around my reptiles for a few years and I’ve had no problems. Air purifiers just clean things from the air and make it cleaner so I don’t think there’s much risk for reptiles? I’d wait for other replies to see what other people have found. The ones I use are Honeywell and the HealthPro, given I use them for health reasons and not for my pets. But I’ve never had any problems
r/reptiles • Recommendations for Herp-Safe Air Purifiers ->I run a small dog boarding business out of my home and the dust and dander that the extra dogs added was mind boggling. I tried a couple of smaller air purifiers first (I think they were Honeywell brand) and although they certainly picked up a lot of dust in the filters it just wasn't making a big impact on the overall dust in the house. So then I got a couple of bigger more robust Idylis air purifiers from Lowe's and those actually did work well enough that I noticed a reduction in the dust in the house. One of them quit working within a year however the other one is still going strong almost 8 years later. But then I got lucky and a friend offered me his IQAir Health Pro purifier when he no longer needed it and that one has made the most amazing difference in the entire house (my house is small though at 1100 square ft ). It filters out dust, dander and odors amazingly well. The filters are pretty pricey though. It is a 3 filter system and if you buy all 3 together they are about $200. But I do run the air purifier all day every day and a full set of filters last about 1.5 - 2 years for me. I highly recommend the brand.
r/BuyItForLife • The REAL best air purifier - I HATE DUST! ->If cost isn’t an issue, look at IQ Air Health Pro. Works great! EDIT : I just noticed the budget constraint. This costs around 1000 dollars.
r/AirQuality • Which air purifiers are the best for allergies? I'm seriously triggered by DUST+POLLEN! ->I've had an IQAir Health Pro running non-stop for about 15 years now, and the only maintenance performed were regular filter changes. It's big and the filters can get expensive, so every couple years I'll sniff around for alternatives, but I haven't found anything better thus far.
r/BuyItForLife • The REAL best air purifier - I HATE DUST! ->IQAir should also be on your list. Their Health Pro model is top notch.
