"My new filter just arrived today and I noticed the weight of it was lighter than the previous replacement filter I was using. ... You can see right through where the charcoal beads are that it’s not even filled up all the way like before, so $99 for half the charcoal."
"I just got a replacement filter which I’m replacing way more than they describe on their website (12-15 months). ... Based on Amazon reviews, I’m not the only one replacing it every 5 months."
"I’m using levoit filters at home and they’re fine and the 2.5 levels are very low. I can also connect them to home assistant which is a big plus for me so I can monitor the filter level(though I’m guessing this is just an arbitrary use based calculation). But I do regret buying them due to the replacement thing."

"my new bedroom Levoit Everest Air only handles particles (my airthings sensor confirms it's great for PM's but useless for VOC's) ... Looking at this chart for my levoit, it's very clear that it's great for PM but useless for VOC's ... I much prefer my levoit Everest air for PM. For VOCs that does nothing"
"So HEPA is good for things like viruses, but activated carbon is better for things like smoke… so if I fill my house with smoke while searing a steak using super hot oil my Everest Air isn’t gonna do shit to help clean the smoke out of the air?"
I have two Levoit a core 600s and an EverestAir and they both do an excellent job, I've tested them with different sensor and they do clean the air perfectly
I think this gets overstated. The Core series pre-filter just comes with the filter. It’s not much harder to vacuum those than the separate ones in the flat panel units. I say this an owner of Cores, Vitals and an EverestAir.
I have always recommended this as I have been using it for a long time already, the reason why I have it is because of dander from my cats and for the smell of their urine, i have a lot of cats, mostly rescued: [Everest](https://s.shopee.ph/qYronWrXZ): wattage isnt that much, 45 watts, noise can be a bit at higher speeds, has a 5 stage hepa flter which you really need, the box arrived on time and no damages wth it. from the brands ive tried, everest is probably the only one that has in a sense delivered in the warranty department but i had to bring it to their las pinas warehouse. I do have a [sharp ](https://s.shopee.ph/60GxyVZqwC)as well, which is a better product but expensive. same time with the shipping their, warehouse is in las pinas too, how i know this? i had to buy a filter there lol. tll now every device works. affiliate link posted. https://preview.redd.it/04vjejs3wlff1.jpeg?width=1536&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f03e50664835ed9320f424253843d1b1a23ace58
buy separate, the two in ones arent as good, though sharp makes an ok one. from my experience the cheaper air purifiers arent any good, better go for something tested. Ill attach a picture of the ones I use personally for air purifier and dehumidifier: I rescue a lot of cats, what I do use is two brands: [Everest](https://s.shopee.ph/20mI2DOOUO): on the cheaper end, does well, biut noisy on higher settings, pero it does its job, as something that purifiers the air, its good, what it handles and where i place it is beside the cat litter boxes, so dusty dun, as i use bentonite din kasi as its easier to clean and the smell and dust there isnt that much. regarding parts, you can talk to everest themselves and tehy can deliver [Sharp](https://s.shopee.ph/9fBjAHMglM): bit more expensive, tested well, does well and can handle most things, bit more quiet, does well, settings are more straight forward and easier to find parts Dehumidifier, lots of good brands, but this is the one in my home: Kolin: handles well, gets the water fast, dehumidifies well, if you are using this always do below 50 to limit dust mites and kill them. affiliate link posted plus picture of my username and date today https://preview.redd.it/4synqkev8wqf1.png?width=3134&format=png&auto=webp&s=5c2d54695b658fe52434fb50ae738a2a4c82fb94
I have two air purifiers, its a bit hard having a lot of pets in the house and yn dander nila goes around, they dont get the hair of the cats though. I own a [everest ](https://s.shopee.ph/4AoG3m8zah)sa sala, every 4 months ko pinapalitan yn filter and yn malapit sa poop place ng mga pusa is [sharp](https://s.shopee.ph/2Vg24lDzIg), which really hepls with the smell
I have a lot of cats at home, mostly rescues, from what i tried [Simplus ](https://s.shopee.ph/2B5CQkePBL)is not good, [tixx ](https://s.shopee.ph/70ASBeUwze)is worse. [Everest ](https://s.shopee.ph/9fBDMaxnK4)air purifier is descent, good enough price and can handle dander as well but [sharp ](https://s.shopee.ph/4VT7D87r9M)is the best but quite expensive. af link posted, just be sure to get something with hepa filter
I have had so many issues with Levoit. I have the EVERSTAIR. I just got a replacement filter which I’m replacing way more than they describe on their website (12-15 months). My new filter just arrived today and I noticed the weight of it was lighter than the previous replacement filter I was using. You can see right through where the charcoal beads are that it’s not even filled up all the way like before, so $99 for half the charcoal.
I run it 24/7. Based on Amazon reviews, I’m not the only one replacing it every 5 months. The particulates aren’t that high. I’m using the purifier primarily for odors and it doesn’t do a very good job. The customer service rep said perhaps the unit was too big for my living space (@200 sq ft.)
Thanks. I’ll have to check it out. It’s interesting because the picture that says -no air holes-That’s the issue I’m having with the new Levoit filter I received today. The rep is claiming that the carbon, when it fills up the holes. prevents airflow and that’s why the amount of carbon is less than usual. I’m not sure if I’m believe them. Also, as someone with MCS, I’m afraid of the off gassing. The filter that arrived today is stinking up my whole apartment and I never had issues with this before.
Check out the levoit everest air! It’s graded for extra large rooms, so it will be more than enough for your 800 sq ft condo. It has a simple touch screen display that automatically shows the air quality in terms of a percentage (100% being perfectly clean) that is also color coded. I like this feature because I can see how things like cooking, wildfire smoke, vape smoke(!) and other things impact air quality. It’s common for me to not think that the air is particularly dirty only to realize my Everest Air is showing 60% instead of its usual 99%. It also has a turbo mode for when the air is particularly dirty. We actually run the turbo mode all night in our bedroom because it is great white noise. It’s pricey ($450) but well worth it, and you can typically get it $100 off directly from Levoit for $350. I just bought one for my mom’s house and it’s $350 right now. Highly recommend!
Thanks for the great tips! The Airpura C700 DLX does look interesting. My biggest problem with Airpura is a complete void of reviews or testing. Do you have any direct experience with them by chance? I'm leaning heavily IQAir mostly bc there's more reviews and they are mostly positive. I know VOC's are hard and expensive to measure but I'm shocked almost no online reviews even do basic VOC tests using airthings or other sensors. I plan to post my 30 day airthings VOC chart before and after I purchase an air purifier to show some sort of evidence if it does anything. Looking at this chart for my levoit, it's very clear that it's great for PM but useless for VOC's. I would think the internet would be covered in tests like this but there is near zero data out there. This makes me very suspicious that trying to combat VOC's is a hopeless marketing scheme to upsell expensive carbon filters. Any company that showed off real world results would have a huge advantage, but none do which makes me think VOC capture is not practical. I do run a dehumidifier in my room every night and average 37% humidity which helps with the musty smell. Whenever I'm away on vacation and don't run it the smell comes back. Unfortunately can't get the landlord to do anything about it.
I got the small r414 I think is the model. So far I haven't been able to detect any impact on VOCs. In fact I'm currently testing if it's making my VOCs significantly worse or not on my air things. I much prefer my levoit Everest air for PM. For VOCs that does nothing, but as far as I can tell neither does the Airpura. I'm probably going to try an IQAir instead of a bigger Airpura next, you might want to consider that one.
So far it's good. It was easy to set up and use, and the filter is huge. We have a unique air situation and I'm not sure how much it's helping with that, but as an air purifier it seems pretty powerful
I have the Everest Air and i can say it effectively removes pretty much everything in the room .
I have Levoit EverestAir which is basically the same but bigger. Been using it fore more than 2 weeks and the filter reeks of some chemicals. I read somewhere that they changed filter manufacturer and this a common problem now, not sure if it’s actually true but be aware.
As someone with asthma and pets, necessity talaga sa house namin ang air purifier. What I can suggest is [Sharp Air Purifier](https://s.shopee.ph/gFOWNWvk8) (\~6kphp) if you have the budget, it purifies the air the best, top notch ang quality. May **HEPA filter + ion generator**. May Plasmacluster din. This is really convinient since maliit lang siya but powerful. **23sqm yung area niya**. For larger rooms (up to **35sqm**) [Everest Air Purifier](https://s.shopee.ph/20km71U9m6) (\~6kphp) is a good option, almost similar function siya kay Sharp, advanced yung air purification technology niya. A good option is also [Xiaomi Smart Pet Care Air Purifier](https://s.shopee.ph/6VDTjPYqAb) (\~4.5kphp) for small rooms lang ito, 16–27m², made for people with pets. 360 air suction that can remove pet's fur, odor, allergens, dusts, etc. Always 95+% yung removal rate niya for mites, allergen, dander, and pollen kaya really effective. May app din siya kaya easy to set up On the affordable side [Simplus Air Purifier](https://s.shopee.ph/4L8gtSwoiD) (\~3.7kphp) is your best option. Up to 40 sqm yung capacity niya for an affordable price. It has HEPA Filter and smart auto mode that adjust depende sa quality ng air. Manage your expectations with this one. **Always check yung area capacity ng air purifier and yung area ng room mo para mas efficient siya maglinis ng air.**
