Based on 1 year's data from Feb 24, 2026 How it works
I had two Levoit LV-RH131Ss fail. My initial purchase and then the warranty replacement. My friend replaced some obviously bad capacitors on both and they're working great.
I’ve liked Levoit and felt it makes a difference and they have models that are cheaper around $160 or so. Just make sure you choose one with a TRUE HEPA filter, not a “HEPA like” one. It’s not the same. And HEPA is what filters for stuff like allergens and pollen, pet dander etc. I’ve also really liked Austin air bedroom machine. It’s on the more expensive side but has all the bells and whistles but it is around $1k :( that one seriously makes a dent. Also heard good things about airdoctor but haven’t personally tried it and it’s also more expensive. I actually did a [tonnnn of research on air purifiers](https://www.cleanandhonest.com/blog/best-air-purifier-hepa-mold-allergies-more) recently if you’d find this helpful in your research :) Goodluck! There’s lot of options now at different price points. Just make sure it has a real HEPA filter.
I have some Vesync purifiers. I rarely notice a difference in day to day air quality but ever since I moved to the PNW I have one or two weeks out of the year that’s pure allergy hell. I think maybe the purifiers help a little but it’s usually so bad I’m willing to throw just about any solution towards the problem even if it doesn’t actually work . I wish it wasn’t cloud based software but it works well enough for me. Many non-smart purifiers have annoying digital controllers (I used to have ones that look like giant iPod shuffles) that I can’t just slap a smart plug on to automate and I don’t want to go so far as to setup ESP controllers to hack them
I've had a Vesync air purifier for a long time, and it works great. We recently moved into a 4 story townhouse, so I picked up a few more and have been very happy. Have one on each floor and although I dont have allergies it has reduced the amount of dust in the house to almost none. Just providing you another company to check and hopefully you find one that works for you.
Hey! I have 5 Levoit smart purifiers around my home on Google Home ecosystem, and it works flawlessly.
We have several LeVoit smart purifiers and they’re outstanding. Our old home is super dusty and these units have made a huge impact on how we feel and no longer see tons of random dust particles in the air.
Recently bought a few different sized Levoit air purifiers for a multi-level house and room sizes and they are awesome! Definitely get the one(s) with the app. Spent a lot of time researching. Best bang for the buck and level of filtration. On Amazon, but of course.
I know exactly how you must feel, as we've been through this all before, it's overwhelming with all the different choices. My partner has a severe dust mite allergy and the first thing we bought was a Levoit true HEPA filter air purifier. Further to that, we bought a Dustro dx6 mattress vacuum cleaner. It removes all the dust mites from deep inside the mattress, UV sterilises it, and applies hot air to it too which apparently makes it hard for them to survive or multiply. Trust me the first time you use it you'll be shocked at what it pulls out - this is after vacuuming our bed daily! A combination of both have made a night and day difference, we noticed the different straight away
I use Levoit air purifiers in my home and pleased with them. A lot of their models are on sales on Amazon right now. I would suggest NOT leaving your window open if you’re concerned about allergens as well.
I am a Levoit fan, I have the WiFi enabled purifiers throughout my home.
Air cleaners/purifiers (I have one in every single room, 2 in the open living dining kitchen area). Some brands offer pet specific filters (I use Winix plasma waves in larger rooms, and Levoit for smaller rooms, both the cylindrical and the rectangular). Regular vacuuming. Blankets on furniture that can be put in washing machines. If you have hardwood, minimize your area rugs and mop once a week, if possible. If you need area rugs, try washable rugs you can toss in the washing machine. I have three dogs, a breed that is notoriously difficult to house train. I keep an armada of enzyme cleaners and a black light on hand. They are also a breed that loves blankets, so I use specially formulated enzyme cleaner in the washing machine when I wash their blankets. The washing machine runs daily here.
