"No dog smell."
"I live in a very dusty area with 3 dogs, also get smoke July- September a lot and it’s been able to handle all of these things."

"The medify that we have has a super low speed setting which means we can sleep with it next to us and get a nice breeze of purified air while the machine says silent."
"I sized my units so I wasn’t running them on their max settings. This is more expensive, but the result is a MUCH quieter space. ... I myself won’t tolerate a loud unit. It’s annoying when hosting or when w/ a SO/partner or when watching a movie. I can say the MA-112 in my Master Bedroom pretty much runs 24 hours on level 2 and I never really think about the unit. Lol. Just watched Pacific Rim again last night and it was business as usual. Never really notice the unit."
"I definitely agree with others who have said to get a “size up” from what you think you need for your room size, so you can run it at a lower level and have it be quieter."

"I had a medify one and returned it because the AQI inside my apartment was 150 after running the purifier 24/7 for an entire week. ... I shut all my windows and doors and turned my Medify air filter on full. I was then sick for an entire week. Got an air monitor, saw the AQI was at 150."
"The vitals barely reduced PM when I used them."
Hey man. I currently own (1) MA-112 in my master bedroom, (2) MA-40’s in the guest bedrooms, and was waiting on the MA-125’s to go on sale again as I want two for the living room. I am a Steamfitter that has done some HVAC and became interested in IAQ. After unfortunately coming across and dealing with some mold in A-coils / ductwork in the places I was staying at, I wanted to find a solution. While I was staying at an AirBNB long term, I AGAIN had respiratory issues and narrowed it down to what I believe was contamination somewhere in the supply ductwork. I’ve yet to order a particle counter to quantify things moving forward… But nonetheless, while in that AirBNB master bedroom, I ordered and setup a MA-112. I calculated the rough cubic footage of the space and used setting 2 and 3 on the MA-112 for ~6-10 Air changes per hour. I blocked the supply vent and kept the purifier on. —> Me and my partner after a week noticed major reductions in our symptoms. They definitely work for lowering particle counts. Now. The only drawback that I know of with these units, other than cost, is the carbon filter is in FRONT of the HEPA. I wish it wasn’t. Something to be mindful of. I sized my units so I wasn’t running them on their max settings. This is more expensive, but the result is a MUCH quieter space. I have the cost broken down on CFM/CADR depending on setting vs what I paid for the unit to get a flow per $1. I find the MA-125, MA-40, and MA-112 to do decent. I can DM you some of that info if you want. I’ve contacted Medify about their website and literature. They are inconsistent on the information posted on their website vs what is found in their manuals sometimes. If I’m in doubt about noise levels va flow rate, I go with the higher dB rating so as not to be disappointed. The MA-112 is VERY quiet on level 2 and not a bother on level 3 (it appears the MA-112 Pro flows more at the same noise levels vs the MA-112. The cost vs CFM is also better with the MA-112 Pro vs the MA-112 on these settings) Level 4 it is quite loud, and is moving a LOT of air. I do not use level 4 on my MA-112. I have been very satisfied with my MA-112. If you want, I’d be willing to work with you on the math to size a unit appropriately for your space and you’d be able to compare the requirements vs noise levels you think would be acceptable to you. Never really notice the unit.
If you want things to truly be good, most air purifiers WAY over state the area the can cover. The general rule is 2/3’s of the square feet of the area you’re trying to purify (assuming there’s not walls and stuff in the way) of CFM. So for a 600 square foot studio you’d need 400 CFM. Here is the cubic feet per minute (CFM) rating for the C909 on the various speeds (Med & High are not particularly loud, but Turbo is): Sleep - 67 Low - 98.8 Med - 165.9 High - 197.7 Turbo - 342.5 Even turbo is a little short for this so 2 smaller purifiers would work if you don’t mind max speed which is loud. I’d personally either 2 of these or a larger unit. For my main living area I use a Medify MA-125 which is on a good sale right now for how much air it can move. It pushes 547 CFM on max speed (which is loud imo, too loud to watch TV) but I keep mine on a 7/9 speed which is 400 CFM and perfect for your apartment. Not loud at all can watch TV with it right next to me no issue Only down side of the medify imo is it doesn’t have a separate pre filter it’s build into the filters, so you need to change them more often. I change mine every 6 months with 2 cats, which is about 250 a year in filters. My coways filters are cheaper and last longer but for that CFM you’d need the pro X which is expensive
Nothing at that cost will cover 800 square feet. For allergies you really need around 4-6 air changes an hour to be most effective. You’d need like 500-600 CFM. That’s on the level of the coway airmega proX for one singular air purifier. Just the bedroom though is much more reasonable. I have 2 coway air mega 1512’s with the allergen filters for my partner who has a cat allergy (I have a cat) in the two bedrooms of my apartment and it made a huge difference. I got them recently on sale for 169$ each (allergen filter was an additional like 40-50$) The went from waking up in the morning coughing up a lung, to sleeping through the night peacefully I also have a few medify air purifiers. They do much better with smells so that’s in my main area, I got the 1512’s specifically because of their special allergen filters. The 350 also has that but is significantly more expensive. Really seems to do wonders for cat dander
I have multiple Medify Air units, the main big one is the 125 model I believe. I live in a very dusty area with 3 dogs, also get smoke July- September a lot and it’s been able to handle all of these things. It’s several hundred dollars but I was able to use HSA money for it and for the filters which last about 6 months. I also have Merv 14 filters both in the furnace and where it comes through into the house which helps a lot too.
I have two dogs in a townhome and have 3 air purifiers. Absolutely love them. No dog smell. I have one Medify and two Levoit. Just make sure you get one that can actually clean the size of the space it will be in. The downside is buying the filters, but I find it worth the cost, and you can find cheaper, off-brand filters on Amazon.

I bought 5 Vital (100 + 200) devices and 1 Core. The vitals barely reduced PM when I used them. I switched to Coway and Medify and had much better results.
I've been using Medify Air for 5+ years and they've held up well. They work well, especially during wildfire season. I also run them when guests are present to reduce the spread of airborne germs for an immune compromised household member.
I own medify air. I cannot complain about performance. However, people online complain that you must change your filters every 6 months or your lifetime warranty will be voided.
We use medify air purifiers
Honeywell, Levoit, Medify, Coway
It depends on the size of your rooms, and how much noise matters to you. They will all be great for pet hair, dust, and have models at about $250 to $300, for your total $600 budget for 2 units -- but you need to get models that appropriately cover the square footage in each room. Typically models will advertise the square footage they cover on the highest setting -- which is the loudest. You want to be able to run it on lower settings most of the time, so check the square footage they cover on lower settings, and/or "overbuy" for your space. Also check the pricing for a unit's replacement filters -- that's an important cost consideration. Finally, if you can swing it, I also recommend units with activated carbon / VOC filters for smells, when you have pets :)
