Medify Air - MA-50

I've enjoyed Medify MA-50s.

We have the MA50, and I would agree. We keep it on medium speed, and the air is so much cleaner.

I bought the MA50 for our 1300 square ft home, and it has really worked well. The filter lasts about 5 months, which is acceptable

We have a Medify MA50, and it is just a small hum on #3, so if you buy a bigger unit, you can run it at a lower speed

We bought a Medify MA50 about 2 years ago, and the dust and pollen collection is outstanding. I thought that I would have to buy 2, but 1 is adequate for our home.

I have 2 Medify Air MA-50 models that work great. Speed 1 is basically silent, Speed 2 is slightly audible at 5 feet away (2 is what we run them on constantly) speed 3 is not too loud but is more noticeable and speed 4 is fairly loud but really moves some air. Down side for me is they don't have any smart/app ability. The only "smart" thing is a timer that can be set. Also I own 3 Levoit 100s models that I love because of the ability to control with an app. Typically leave them running on the lowest setting (they are in bed rooms) but if I want to bump up the one in my son's room I can do it from the app without having to risk waking him up by going into his room. They are also pretty quiet. Genuine filters for the MA-50 are about $50 from Medify or like $40 on Amazon but I just found someone 90min away from me that has over 100 genuine Medify filters and is selling them for about $25 each. Genuine Levoit filters are about $35 or aftermarket ones as cheap as 2 for $25

Medify Air could be a good option! The MA-50 has more than enough power for what you’re looking for and is essentially silent at levels 1 and 2, and is a very reasonable volume at level 3 (level 4 is extremely loud but you shouldn’t need it for a room that size).

I really like my Medify Air purifiers! I definitely agree with others who have said to get a “size up” from what you think you need for your room size, so you can run it at a lower level and have it be quieter.

Check out medify air , they come in all sizes and they are true H13 HEPA filters. Great customer service, I have quite a few of them in my house and love them

I have two dogs in a townhome and have 3 air purifiers. Absolutely love them. No dog smell. I have one Medify and two Levoit. Just make sure you get one that can actually clean the size of the space it will be in. The downside is buying the filters, but I find it worth the cost, and you can find cheaper, off-brand filters on Amazon.

medify needs more love. those medical grade H13 filters are legit

I bought 5 Vital (100 + 200) devices and 1 Core. The vitals barely reduced PM when I used them. I switched to Coway and Medify and had much better results.

I own medify air. I cannot complain about performance. However, people online complain that you must change your filters every 6 months or your lifetime warranty will be voided.

My partner and I use Medify air purifiers, I'm generally a fan but haven't tried others so my frame of reference might not be the best

I have a whirlpool air purifier that is at least 12 years old that’s still going. I also like medify air.

I’m in the same boat. Wondering what decision you made? I had a medify one and returned it because the AQI inside my apartment was 150 after running the purifier 24/7 for an entire week. I then got a Wellis and I’m doubting its efficacy just cuz I’m like wtf is this technology and I see basically no reviews online. I’m leaning toward air doctor I think? How about you?

tbh they're all basically the same. just get whatever's on sale at costco that has a hepa filter. i got some random medify one for $150 and it works fine. people overthink this stuff way too much lol

I have a couple of Medify units, which have been excellent. My understanding is that the Coway ones are good too. 

Had the same Honeywell for years, replacement filter is not expensive. Bought it used too for ~$70. Yes it gets loud, but I turn it on downstairs at bedtime so it runs all night then turn it off in the morning. For bedrooms I have Medify Air but the filter needs replaced a lot more often.

I have a medify one. It’s worlds different for pet dander.

I run a Medify purifier in my living room and it handles wildfire smoke pretty well for me. I like the filter setup, and it doesn’t get too loud.

we have had honeywell, air doctor, and medify air, as well as a random amazon one (veva). honeywell has actually been my favorite, and it’s also cheaper than the other 2 besides the veva. i am extremely sensitive to noise, and it is very quiet. the medify one sounds horrible- it has a weird high pitch and i can’t stand it even on the very lowest setting. i actually sent it back and they replaced it and the second one sounds the same. the air doctor is quiet too, but honestly i just don’t see a big difference in effectiveness for how much more expensive it is.  i looked for something without ozone or anti-microbial treatments, which all of the coway ones have one or the other of (the cheaper ones have ionizers which create ozone, the more expensive ones have anti-microbial filters only). all you really need is HEPA and a carbon filter. and go oversized- get one that is for an area larger than what you have. they calculate effectiveness based on it being on the highest setting, which may be louder than you want.

Assuming that these aren't erroneous readings: - open a window or patio door a crack and turn on a fan on the opposite side of the apartment to suck in some fresh air. - get HEPA filters with activated charcoal - that will help with the VOC; we use some by Medify Air.

+1 for medify if you don’t go the box fan route. The medify that we have has a super low speed setting which means we can sleep with it next to us and get a nice breeze of purified air while the machine says silent. 

Just get something that uses HEPA filters. We have one in every room but the bathroom (humidity from the shower is not great for the filters). I've never had to clean baseboards since using them. Winix from Costco. I also have a Coway and Levoit (lots of people like those) as well as a few from Medify. They all do the same thing. I personally prefer to get one larger than needed for the size the room it's rated for so I can run it on low - which is quieter - and still get a good number of air exchanges per hour (the room size they typically advertise assumes you're running it on high which most people are not since the higher settings are loud). Bonus with HEPAs is that they help reduce illness transmission as they clean viruses from the air.
