r/AirPurifiersHelp choosing 3 air purifiers for home with allergies/mold sensitivities + 2 dogs (living room, master, kids room)

My approach to managing MCAS has been to put a Corsi Rosenthal box in every for the high CADR, and also a commercial HEPA purifier in every room for the finer particles. My MCAS went absolutely wild last winter so I basically tripled the CADR I had in every room and it has helped so much. My favourite unit is definitely the Smart air blast MKII, there is also a mini version. Quiet but extremely powerful, simple, huge HEPA filter that lasts 2 years. Next I would recommend either a homemade CR box or a premade kit. I'm in Canada so I bought a kit from Northbox systems, Clean air kits is the American equivalent. Can't really beat the CADR on these units, especially when taking into account how quietly they are. /r/crboxes If you want a small commerical purifier, can't go wrong with the Costco Winix units. Price can't be beat and I find the sound of these more pleasant than most commerical purifiers. I have 3 for many years now with no issues. I also have an Air Doctor and a Levoit that I don't recommend. Cheaply built, irritating sound.

I'd strongly consider the Smart air blast full size or mini for your main room. I also have MCAS and I react in any room that doesn't have very high air exchanges per hour. I have a mix of HEPA filter commercial purrifiers and premade Corsi-Rosenthal boxes throughout my house. Northbox systems in Canada and Clean air kits in the USA make very powerful CR box kits that push way more air than any commercial purifier will.

Smart Air Blast MKII. It's a budget blaster on the front end. https://www.smarterhepa.com/products/smart-air-blast It might be cheaper to buy two purifiers that can provide 5 air changes an hour 600-700 square foot space. You could run them at lower speeds and still achieve good air cleaning

If this is just for dust, why not just dust more often? https://housefresh.com/how-to-reduce-dust-in-your-apartment/ For 3,000 square feet you're going to need multiple purifiers. If you're resolute in not buying multiple, the Smart Air BLAST - MKII is the best bet. It's not cheap though. https://www.smarterhepa.com/products/smart-air-blast

If you're wanting something to clean the air in 1,000-1,500 square feet, the Smart Air Blast MK II is up for the job. It's quiet and there's no wi-fi. It does have carbon filters as an option. https://www.smarterhepa.com/products/smart-air-blast Here's an independent review on its smaller sibling: https://housefresh.com/blast-mini-review/

r/AirPurifiersBest air purifier for cat allergens in a 1000 sq ft basement? Dyson vs Coway or something better?

Both will definitely help. On the highest airflow speed called "Turbo", the sound levels directly in front of one will be 60 dBA according to the Decibel X Android app. (I have a C909 and took the measurement.) Two running on Turbo would be 63 dBA. Some may find this quite loud. One Coway Airmega ProX or Smart Air Blast MKII would be quieter on the top airflow speed, but it doesn't come cheaply as I'm sure you've seen.

To echo what u/timesuck said, conventional HEPA purifiers aren't great at removing visible dust unless hugely oversized. They are best for capturing PM10, PM2.5, and PM0.1. If you need something both quiet and powerful, I would tend to recommend the [Smart Air Blast MKII](https://www.smarterhepa.com/products/smart-air-blast). Top sound level is 43 dBA. It has a metal body and locking wheels. The drawback is that because of the tariff situation, the units are mostly out of stock at the moment. There are a few left in the HEPA H13 + activated carbon filter configuration. As with any air purifier, the top airflow/speed setting will offer the greatest Clean Air Delivery Rates (CADRs) and therefore maximum dust collection. Lower speeds have lower CADRs.

r/AirPurifiersCan anyone convince me that airpurifierers are not a uneccessary waste of money

I have 3 cats in my apartment. I'm running the air purifier 24/7 so I went with the Smart Air's Blast (cost around USD630 or something). Makes a huge difference.

r/AirPurifiersIs this overkill to buy for a small appartment?

Definitely not overkill. I bought the Smart Air Blast mk2 which is also massive and I run it 24/7 at low speed so that it is inaudible. When my neighbor apartments are doing renovation as they are now I can turn it on high to clear the air at a super fast rate. Makes a massive difference in air quality. Bigger air purifiers are best if you can stomach the space cost.

Exactly as u stated. All depends on your goal. And yeah I wish I had the Full size smart air blast instead of the mini but they were out of stock. It really doesn't saturate with smells either...it's great

r/AirPurifiers(Budget $2400) Going to return JASPR purifiers. What should I replace them with? (WILDFIRE SMOKE, POLLEN)

Large Smart Air Blast with a yoorair clean freak after the Hepa. This will cut your CADR/CFM in half. Cost will also go up as well and the carbon filter pad only really last a month. You're still at 200 at the lowest setting and 400 at the highest fan speed. I like yoorair because the thing they wrap around the carbon filter pad doesn't allow carbon dust to leak out but it's like also super dense with a merv 6 rating, the filter pad is like merv 4 if their specs are to be trusted. Or you can just use their carbon filter and change it every 2-3 months.

Get one Smart Air Blast Mk II (tall) with the charcoal filter (3 lbs). Replace the charcoal filter as often as budget allows (it’s separate from the HEPA). Run it on high 24/7 for maximum CADR. In addition, run an IQAir GC MultiGas XE or GCX MultiGas XE with one of each canister (they hold four total). You will likely have to purchase each type as a four pack. Carbon VOC Canister • High-capacity activated carbon • Best for general VOC removal and chemical fumes Formaldehyde Canister • Impregnated media optimized for aldehydes (especially formaldehyde) • Includes potassium permanganate and other specialized substances Ammonia Canister • Media specifically designed to capture ammonia and amines Acid Gas Canister • Targets acidic gases like hydrogen sulfide, sulfur dioxide, etc. The canisters can be mixed and matched for customized filtration. This is rarely done with the GC platform, but I suspect it’s more commonly done with the GCX platform, which is often used in more industrial or lab settings. Run it on low/medium (Speed 2 or 3) for increased dwell time. I would contact IQ Air for more tailored advice given how expensive it is.

700 square foot apartment, and I love mine. It’s my third one. I’ve tried others and they don’t even come close to this for my particular issues. I’ll never buy another brand again. (I lost first 2 Health Pro+’s to two consecutive moldy rentals. Bad luck, for sure. They still worked great, but I didn’t want to chance bringing them with me.) Edit: I have had a smaller Levoit, and the SmartAir Blast which was industrial sized. Neither came close to the IQ Air for me. I was so bummed I got the Blast instead of the IQ Air. (Lost that to one of the moldy rentals too.) The quality of clean air from the IQ Air makes the ugliness and footprint it takes up worth it to me. I wish it were pretty but it’s a total eyesore that I will go back to again and again.

Smartair Blasted MKII is very quiet with very high CADR due to the size of the filter.

Smart Air (SmarterHEPA in the US) is our main filters with an AustinAir in the bedroom. AustinAir is one of the only with a large amount of carbon or carbon fabric in them for VOCs and odors.
